I just added a few of my recent investments to the portfolio. I cannot believe the amount. I am running out of space. Selling has begun on a minimal basis and so far has been highly profitable. I chose well and my net rates of return are fantastic, compared to anything in the markets. Here is to saving all the dang shipping boxes and packing material. I am not crazy after all. In terms of big boys, I sure hope the remaining slow sets retire. That being Death Star, Tower Bridge, T1 Camper Van, Orthanc, Ewok Village, PS. IF these will sail away to never return, my portfolio should see about a 25% increase in value next year, maybe more. In this game, choosing wise…

I wanted to pass on a web site I created that might be useful for people selling on eBay: http://www.ListingTrends.com The site shows you the hottest listings currently on eBay, as determined by number of bids, watchers, or current price. I had been using a simpler version at home to see what's trending in comic books (to figure out what I could buy and flip), and I figured I'd flesh it out so that anyone could use it for any category. For instance, if you look at the "Bulk Bricks & Lots" category, the listing with the highest number of bids is a set of 20 clone trooper minifigs with 35 bids, and the highest price is a 19" Lord Garmadon display at $490. If yo…

I just noticed that some credit cards, at least my Discover card, offers price protection. Basically it's like a price match, but for up to 90 days after you purchase something. The credit card then reimburses you for the money, as long as the entire purchase for that item was put on your credit card. I will paste in Discover's explanation here: If you find a lower price on a recently purchased item at any store within 90 days of purchasing the item with your Discover card, you are automatically eligible for a reimbursement of the price difference up to $500. Do I have to pay a fee for Price Protection? No. However, the entire cost of the qualifying pu…

Hello Folks. I'm thinking about producing after market lego stickers. Just wanted to start a conversation about this to get some ideas flowing. Would you buy these? What would you want to see?

I'm going to toot my own horn for a minute and show off the Lego table I just built for my girls. Not all the drawers are in, but there is a trough in the front with holes so they can slide all the excess Legos directly into the top drawers. It was a fun build and they like it - plus it's a little more play area than the everyday play table.

At the local mall with wife/mom shopping for clothes today...decided to take my almost 4yr old son to TRU just to look around. Give mommy free space and looking at toys is way better than carrying bags/tagging along Thought might as well ask a cashier if they still have those Robin red cycle polybags. They lady checked and said yes we do have one left Perfect...I told her to save that for me and I will be right back with a Super Heroes purchase. She said any single purchase will do (before there was a min $30 purchase) and also handed a free Elrond polybag to my son! Cap America Cycle cost me a whopping $20.33 including taxes but got Robin Red Cycle and Elron…

I am not sure if i just noticed or they are in fact new but I see Kre-o released some GI Joe sets... I know LEGO doesn't do guns but i was hoping they would figure out a way to make this happen. (Even though hasbro owns kre-o and gi-joe.) This is actually shaping up to be a really interesting fight between two toy titans. LEGO has been creeping on Hasbro's number two status for years and now Hasbro is fighting back with the new release of Kre-o and getting some REALLY cool themes like Star Trek...Transformers and now GIJoe... Look familiar? http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=18490356

I wanted to get your opinions before I order this part. The black cylinder cost around $30 a piece. I am deciding what to use instead of that piece. Should I go with a different color Cylinder (Red or DKStGrey) or go with a bunch of black 4x4 macaroni pieces. Thanks for looking.

Anyone excited about the new X-Men movie ? This one combines the casts from X-Men First Class with the original X-Men. The preview looks damn good. Seeing Anna Paquin as Rogue again is going to be weird after so many seasons of True Blood But what I want to know more is if there will be new Wolverine or X-Men theme sets in 2014 :D

Not sure if it's mentioned yet or not..... Just read the news that the Deadpool movie is apparently coming in 2016 http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/x-men-spinoff-deadpool-gets-734172 Does this mean keeping the Wolverine Chopper sets or selling them sooner because there will be another Deadpool release?

If Toys-R-Us online doesn't have an item in their database anymore after entering a search phrase, they make suggestions for you that you can click. Those suggestions usually have nothing to do with what they actually have in stock as well. Instead they seem to be based solely on closely-spelling words. So, you can end up going through quite a few of interesting phrases. Good for a laugh. Here's an example: "Lego Haunted House" Did you mean: Lego Haunted Horse Lego Hunted Pony Lego Hunter Pony Lego Hunger Pony

OK, today's silly question.... What is the difference between MISB & NISB ? This has been bugging me for a while. I always tick both on the portfolio when I add sets.

Disney just doesn't care. If there were any other Lucas projects in the works - expect that Disney will be getting around to killing those ones as well.

I stopped at a couple of Mom and Pop's "traditional" style toy stores last week while patrolling WalMarts for clearance, and noticed that neither sold Lego of any sort. The first one didn't even sell anything really comparable except craploads of Playmobil and the second store actually sold some extremely generic knock-offs that looked worse than mega bloks. Has Lego's licensing of pop culture franchises and films caused these dealers to step away because the product is too "commercial" to be sold in their stores now? If that was the case, why don't they just sell the modulars, the Creator line, or the architecture sets? Why dismiss Lego completely for knock-off brick…
