I am Yellow, and new to the forum. Where do you go to change your Avatar? I noticed that there isn't a User CP with this forums software and used the search function and did not receive any results from it. Never mind I figured it out.

I grew up with legos. I had a massive set - I never kept anything built though, as soon as I made the set from the instructions in the box, I would tear it apart and add it to my massive melting pot of lego sets. From there I would build whatever I wanted. I'm not sure what ever happened to those legos. Fast forward to 2013, at 32 years old I have more legos now then I ever had growing up. Now that I am older though, I don't really play with them, I build them and leave them alone. I love the build - the bigger the set the better. About 3 years ago my wife bought me a lego star wars set, knowing my affinity for both. Then maybe a few months later I got another and ano…

Fellow Lego collectors, Thank goodness for USA Today. I would have never discovered brickpicker without reading this great article. Many members of my family and closest friends know I am a passionate collector of Lego sets. More than one brought me the article. I immediately registered as member. Thanks to Y'all educating me on the sets that are potential investments. I am seriously considering starting my own home based business to buy and sell Lego's. Thanks so much for your feedback. Regards, Funnyman6975

Hi All, I have recently joined in the hopes of making a little cash off my childrens lego. I have weighed their bulk lot and it comes in at 21kgs. I don't know where to start with sorting and sets.. We have all sorts of stuff from the late 70's - early 80's... Which I collected as a child.. then we have 14years of current (and possibly some discontinued) lego. From star wars sets to harry potter, bionicles, Indiana Jones, Lego city etc.. How do i go about sorting all this. i got to counting 300 pieces and gave up lol. Thanks in advance for your help :)

  8. I'm new to BrickPicker. Nice place. I've recently started collecting 9V train sets. The Price Guide is very impressive. Is there a way to see price trends that go back beyond six months?

Hi everyone...taking a moment to introduce myself. I've been collecting and playing with LEGO since the late 1970's when I got my first space set for a birthday present. I've periodically bought and sold various kits over the years. I live in Texas, but I travel almost every week. I own a small IT consulting and training company. My background is primarily in IT for financial services, but I do some work in other industries as well. My wife and I pick and sell several other types of items as well. It's kind of a game for us. There's definitely lots of money to be made picking/holding for a bit/and selling. I find that traveling every week puts me in places where …

Hello everyone! I have reciently started getting into Lego's for a personal collection. Growing up and still to this day I have been collecting all sorts of toys. I started collecting Hot Wheels when I was younger but recently sold all of them. Over the past few months I have started to collect Lego sets. I am mainly into the Lego City / Lego Creator sets. I was extremely excited when I came across this site, which has a ton of information. I don't have many sets at the moment as I have just started but what I do have is: TMNT 79103-1 Turtle Lair Attack 79104 The Shellraiser Street Chase Lego City 3367 Space Shuttle 4433 Dirt Bike Tra…

Hello! I happened to discover www.brickpicker.com today while searching on Google for Lego Set No. 4000007 (Ole Kirk's House). I was very impressed with brickpicker and immediately signed on. I live in the United Arab Emirates (though i am from India) and am an avid Lego Collector. My first set is from 1977 and was gifted to me by an aunt of mine. Circumstances did not allow me to collect or buy Legos during my childhood. I started collecting seriously in 1999 when i moved to Dubai and had the opportunity to do so. I am not sure if there are any other members on brickpicker from Dubai. If yes, would be thrilled to conect with them. Cheers, Manohar

I have been buying and selling video games and such for years via yard sales and such and just got into legos through research and a first investment find. I grabbed 10 of the ice dragons from a grocery store for 20.00 a piece. This led me to researching legos and this site substantionaly over past month. Im all in on this especially at other recent finds I have stumbled upon through heavy discounts at end of the year. Hope everyone had a good Holiday season.

I just wanted to say hi to everyone.....another new guy to this site. And what a site it is! Incredible amount of information and very well done. I've been away from Legos for some time now, but with a 4 year old boy that is just starting to get into Legos, I'm beginning to remember the old days and how much fun Legos can be. I spent a few hours with him building another set last night and he was so excited and said "Dad, this is the coolest set we have every built!" And it was just a simple Creator Police car/helicopter set. Can't wait to start building some really interesting, larger sets as he gets older. I've been reading a lot on this site for the last fe…

Hello Wow what can I say that hasnt been said already. I have been back into lego for a couple of years now with kids coming of age. I am very disturbed by the value of the sets i let go at a boot fair as a kid. This side of lego is very new to me as i got started by buying bulk kg on ebay to complete sets then selling spares on bricklink. This is now running away with it self and im getting busier daily. I have read the articles on where and when to sell all very good. I have a love hate relationship with ebay however bricklink i love everyone seems genuine. I agree brickling needs promoting to get more traffic. Bricklink is the cheapest way to buy individual…

Hello everyone! I'm from Tampa Bay area in Florida. I went through a very long "dark ages" (if I use your lingo correctly, lol) where I have not played with Legos since childhood. That changed recently when we bought "Friends" Lego sets for our kids. As I sit down to work on the set together with our kids, it was like I forgot how fun it was to build a set from scratch, following instructions! I guess it's the "engineer" gene (I'm a software engineer) in my blood that makes me find this activity fun. Coincidentally, I came across those links article in my Feedly feed last week: http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/business/2012/12/27/lego-investors-profit/1732525/ …

Hello all, After reading an interesting article from the USA today regarding the Lego's investment, it seems interesting for me to check out this website and also to look at the Lego itself. Personally, I never thought the small plastic pieces would be a good investment compare to stock and bond or commodity. Looking through this website, there are lot of useful information but could be overwhelm for the newcomer (like me). Also reading comment from various new members, there are many opportunists who think by buying Lego they can get rich quickly. For my principle, I have Lego brick as a child but never really thought that would be a good investment things, just…

Hello to my fellow Lego fans, I have enjoyed Lego's all my life and still have some of my sets from the early 70's. I came across an article last week in USA Today about Lego Investing and it mentioned Brickpicker.com, so here I am. I have already bought my first five sets and a great price. I work for a large retail store and have access to the sets when they go clearance. I will only buy a new set at 50% off full retail and hope to make a profit. I live in the Seattle area and look forward to chatting with some of you on how this whole process works Old Lego Guy

Hello everyone, my name is Anthony. As I'm sure most of you have, I grew up with Legos as a kid and now I'm looking to hunt down some of the sets that I always wanted. I've always been a huge fan of the realistic vehicular Lego models, such as the Model Team sets (5561, 5563, 5571, 10151) and the intricate Technic car models such as 8880 and 8448. I spent a lot of time drooling over these sets in the catalogs as a kid. Right now, 10151 is the only model I currently have (it was my #1 Christmas list item for many years) and I hope to slowly add the others over the next several years. This seems like a great place for information on all types of sets, and I look forwar…
