Greetings, just signed up. My profession is the buying and selling of sneakers, usually Air Jordans and other such Nike's, so I'm quite familiar with the basic model, principal's involved, having to sit on items to let them appreciate, selling on eBay, etc. I was into Lego's as a child (as well as sneakers ) and back in 2008 I happened to walk into a Lego store at a mall in NJ and saw a collector series Millennium Falcon on display. I thought it was awesome but also thought that $500 retail seemed like a lot of money. Sometime last year in my browsing of the internet I happened to look it up on eBay. Seeing the current market value led me to do more research and l…

I've been a member here since November 1st (same day I started collecting) but figured now that I have 1 rack filled I'd introduce myself. This post could also go in the "how am I doing?" or the "stockroom pictures" thread. But I figure I would throw it here. I definitely consider myself small time and mainly use the profits from my sales to finance my own collection (keeping the wife off my back ). I have most of these sets on the rack built and in my personal collection as well. All of the ones on the rack are new in sealed box. I think I'm doing ok but open to criticism. Only bought 2 city sets, a high speed train for $100 and a coast guard plane for a…

Hi Everyone, Just thought I'd say hola from down under. Since I've been exposed to BP by my brother in-law a couple weeks ago, there has not been a day that goes bywhere I don't check BP! I've discovered my new love of LEGO again and really enjoy the talk on this community. I'm originally from LA and am kicking myself that I didn't get into LEGO back then since the prices and sales in the US seem to be a lot more decent than the deals here in Australia! Either way, I'm really grateful to Ed and Jeff (sorry if I don't have the right people, still pretty new to this) for putting this community together! I'll stop my rambling for now, so, HI!

I thought that I had posted one of these but I guess not. I am an adult from Eau Claire, Wisconsin who has rekindled his love in Lego thanks to having children. I'm not sure that I will ever invest in Lego but then you never know. Any members here from Eau Claire or Wisconsin?

Hi Everyone, We are a Family of 4 Traveling the Country and enjoying Life. Have been traveling throughout the world, many years before. Through that we speak several languages, German, english, Swedish & Danish. In the near future we will be settling back down into a Stick & Brick Home, so our Kids (& me) have room to play with Lego and other things. Also will be starting a BL Store at that time, since we really enjoy the hunt for Lego. At the Time we only sell on eBay & Amazon mostly other stuff. If you want to know more just feel free to ask. Mike

New to the Lego Investment Community. I have been a seller on Ebay for about 15 years. So I am always looking for new angles. My wife accuses me of being a hoarder and compulsive shopper. At heart I am a flipper and not an investor, although I have hoarded about 400 Monster High Dolls. I probably have a few dozen Lego sets in storage along with my dolls and various other "junk" as my wife calls it. Twenty Fallout 3 Collectors editions are not junk!!! Nor my Wii Mario Allstars!!! We moved to Indonesia a couple of years ago and now live in Jakarta. Although I am now financially secure...I can't stop "hustling" as I call it. Lego has become my latest thing. We have a Leg…

Hello everyone, am new to this site and to investing and I must say I was sold immediately after reading all the articles on this site. Self-admitted adult "kid" who has never outgrown lego. Have always 'known they appreciate in price but never seriously thought about them as possible investments, but now I know better! Am from LA and feel lucky I have a few lego shops within reach. Definitely looking forward to discussing more about this fun and rewarding hobby!

Hi, I'm Jeff. Been collecting action figures since 2007, but not Lego. I'm seriously considering switching to Lego collecting, and it all started when our Shell fuel stations had a Lego promo.. I managed to complete the entire set, and haven't opened them. My parents are also sending Lego for my son, and he's enjoying them more than the DC Universe action figures and Transformers (although my son's fave are die cast cars). Hoping to read the many topics here to learn more about Lego collecting (and possibly investing), before I take the plunge. Have a great day, and thanks for your time in dropping by this topic.

Hello to everyone. This is my first post, so I figured I would start with a quick introduction as my first post. I was a Lego fan in my youth, having collected a few small sets, but was reintroduced at X-mas when my sister and brother-in-law (who is a huge Lego fan and Architect) got me the Mini Cooper set (10242). This sparked a bit of an addiction, and I've since purchased half a dozen decent size sets, a ton of minifigs, and miscellaneous other items. A full-on addiction has started, hunting for sales at local toy sellers, and plotting my own MOCs. Hopefully I can contribute to the forum, and feed my addiction through discussion and speculation, potentially lessening t…

Hi peeps, Just wanted to post up a proper hello. I have decided to step it up on the 'lego investing'. I purchased as many BttF sets as I could afford last year and as that is looking decent so far I have decided to see what else I can get involved with. Have read a lot on here this week and so trying to get some sort of plan as I am on a very limited budget. At the minute I am concentrating on discounted (30-40%) 2013 sets. Amazon grid and discount checker are an amazing help here and I didn't even consider that Amazon might be the best place for these bargains. I'm finding it hard to decide what to go for but trying to be patient which isn't easy…

When adding in new items to your brickfolio, the fourth question is "condition". Are they asking the condition you first purchased i.e. did you purchase a new or used set or are they asking what condition is it currently in (i.e. did you open it, assemble and play with it)? If it is the latter, then the question seems redundant since in question five ("item specifics"), they ask whether you used it as a display set (light use) or played with it (heavily used)?

Hello, I'm new here, looking for any info on a lego set I have. It is still in the original box and it says Lego building toy 615. I am unable to find out much information about this set, it also has an original sticker price of 14.99. There are 615 pieces, I guess that is why it is called 615?

Hi Everybody, Happy New Year. I just joined brickpicker. I am running a small shop in Hong Kong and I am an authorised retailer of Lego HK. Besides buying from Lego HK, I also would like to buy Lego items such as sets, polybags etc from USA wholesalers at wholesale price. I shall pay by my credit card and the other party needs only to deliver my purchase order to an address in California. I shall then ship the goods to HK by sea. I look forward to receiving your replies and thank you for your support.

Just a quick note to say hi. Very much enjoy studying and reading here, lots of good advice. Just starting to purchase a few sets for hobby investing, we'll see how it goes. I can't possibly add anything here as I'm the newbie. I'll just read-read-read to gain some understanding and insight. Speaking of kits I've picked up, I stocked up on a few Pet Shops and Tower Bridges, picked up a couple of Cranes (42009), the Maersk ship, several camper vans, and a few other modulars. I figure I'll by what I like to build, mainly larger kits aimed at older/adults. I noticed that LEGO Shop at Home showed the City Mine set (4204) is showing as "sold out". Based on o…

Hey all. So I would have started collecting Legos years ago, I believe, if I had a boy. Instead, God blessed me with 2 girls. For Christmas this year my youngest daughter asked for the Lego Friends Jungle Rescue Base. I had a BLAST building it with her. She got some money from grandma to buy whatever she wanted, so we headed to the local walmart to buy some more Lego Friends. I notice a Millennium Falcon (retail $139.99) on clearance for $99. I figured it might be worth something in resale so I looked on ebay. Looks like this set has sold anywhere from $160 to $220. Called a friend of mine who knows Legos to verify this is legit. He confirmed it is factory sealed. A…

Hello, I am reading this forum for a time now and want to introduce myself. My husband and I are small brickvesters from the Netherlands. We do this for a year-and-half now, and we are a little addicted to it now. We have about 150 sets and 50 polybags and minifigures. Also we have sold about almost 50 sets in less then a year, which we are quite proud of. We have learned a lot through this time, and bought Some sets with no growth potential, but also Some sets with a lot of potential. So that is our story, and I hope to learn a lot here, and also make my contribution to this forum.

Greetings, I've been wandering around the site trying to get a clear explanation or definition of what CAGR is, and haven't found an official looking page defining it. I believe I understand it from context clues, but here is my question: Does the aggregated data used to create a set's CAGR from ebay include any and every sold listing that merely references the set's title or number? In other words, if an ebay lot auction of several sets that happens to include set 75035 sells for $100, does the CAGR for set 75035 get boosted by that $100 sale, even though the sale was not for that set specifically? I guess I should also ask if there's a page that fully define…

I'm a fairly new investor in Lego sets, and newish on this site. A friend of mine has built all the big Star Wars sets, which got me interested in what's going on with modern Lego. And Mrs CRAZ8 has built a bunch of recent sets over the last year or so. We also have a 10 year old Yoda as part of our Yoda collection. My investing is to try to offset the cash outlay of the sets we build. There's lots of help here that I'm grateful for. One thing I just realized I can't find is: Who is here who sells on Amazon / Ebay etc. How do I find someone on this site (who I'm likely to trust a bit more) so I can buy from them online. I don't have access to the beta Cl…

Hello All!!! My name is Kyle, and I've been a LEGO fan since I could remember, but over the years the flame dwindle down and I became busy with other hobbies and interests until last year when my daughter (10 at the time) got interested in LEGO.. Her interest and passion in LEGO got me back in the game/industry/fun, whatever you would like to call it. We started off with mostly friends lego, I think we got every set since the inception of the line, and we moved onto some of the other lines ( CIty, Technic, DC, Star wars, etc.), yes I had some influence on moving to the other sets. HEHEHE.. This Christmas, Santa was very generous with the lego sets, I even g…
