Toys r us is running a promo for a free coastguard seaplane with the purchase of a $20 lego set. I already bought some Golden Dragons for $24.99 and got the promo. Not the greatest polybag, or even close to the VW, but for only $25 qualifying purchase I like it. Not sure if there is another topic on this (I did check).....also if a mod can add a link so the Mack's could get the credit that'd be great too.

Toys R Us announced Wednesday that it would expand its price-match guarantee to include online retailers including Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Target.com and BestBuy.com, among others. The aim, according to the release, "Removing any doubt before holiday shopping begins in earnest that customers are receiving the best available prices." Perhaps this means there won't be any more over MSRP!

I went into TRU today after dropping my son off at school to do a quick search for any hidden Crawlers and to just take a general look around. Upon entering the Lego aisle I found this... 20130820_113927 by roadrunner1633, on Flickr I about laughed out loud at the sight of this. A 1-2 year old set, minus any of the figures, and they are still trying to get close to the suggested retail price. I am not quite sure how they even ended up with an old return like this because I thought there were significant limitations on that but who knows. Either way it perked me up a little bit this morning and I thought I would share it with all of you!

TRU has a 15% off promo going from 8/11 to 8/17. It includes all lego sets except for sale items (those with a list price crossed out and another price above it) and this sale includes hard to find items. The promo code is EXTRA15. Note that it is very likely that your online purchase when entered will not honor the discount. But if you call TRU at the time you are ready to place the order, they will process it correctly. I was just wondering if anyone might know when the next TRU bogo sale might be. I know they run these quite frequently, but I can't remember when the last one was. I would like to stock up on dolphin cruisers and heartlake highs to flip this xmas. I think both will be hot sellers and one of those items that retailers won't be able to keep in stock this holiday season. the current retail on both at TRU is only $5 above "normal" retail everywhere else, so assuming they don't jack the prices up by 20-$30, these could be obtained at a good price for holiday flipping.

Noticed something curious over the last few weeks of lego shopping. I always have my phone with me--to check online prices, ebay values, and of course brickpicker values. I get absolutely full signal in Walmart, Target, Kmart, Kohls, malls, pretty much everywhere...and at all of their locations I visit...save this sub forums namesake. I thought it was odd---as soon as you walk in the door, no signal--and I mean none. I was visiting a couple toysrus in other parts of the state---and another state---and same thing. I got a haunted house with an order for some other stuff as they gave me a discount. I got it and the box has a giant crease through it. I would definitely rather have a mint set. Anyone ever had to deal with them before?

I know there is a Posting for the Toys R US 50% sale, But I went over to the Store and the Lone Ranger Train set is at Retail $99.99 so bought 8 of them $635.92 with tax, so about $79.00 a set not bad, I would of gotten more but that was all they had, will go to a few more stores Monday, Here is the store receipt below.

Stopped by a nearby TRU today (Redwood City, CA) and they were offering $20 of $75+ for Lego sets that weren't "Hot Price", Castle, or Lone Ranger sets. Boo! But, they also had a $10 gift card for $50+ purchases. The clerk told me they could be stacked. Unfortunately I was in a hurry, so I didn't have much time to look around. I did notice that they had the Millennium Falcon (7965) for $139.99, which actually seems to be MSRP?? I scanned it and it scanned at 119.99. So today I decided to venture over to to the TRU National Headquarters which is located in Wayne, NJ. My mom and I have friends who work there and I live less than 10 minutes away from it.
