General Buying & Selling

Overall discussion on the buying and selling of LEGO

  1. Started by Scorpio69,

Bought this set Ninjago temple of light for $20 each. Should I sell now ( judging from ebay, will make double per set) or wait ?

  2. Started by Baragon,

Hi all, I recently picked up 6399- Airport Shuttle at an estate sale and just ordered the last of the missing pieces this week. This is my first attempt at reselling and I could use some advice. Would you recommend trying to sell the set locally first to avoid shipping and fees or should I list it online (i.e., Bricklink, eBay, Reddit, or Brickpicker) because this is an older and more expensive? Thanks!

Hey guys, A couple of months ago I won an auction for some City Construction sets, brand new. Now, for space and interest in other sets, I must sell most if not all of them. Here's the list of what I have planned to sell: 7746-1: Single-Drum Roller 7631-1: Dump Truck 7685-1: Dozer 7998-1: Heavy Hauler 7344-1: Dump Truck 7632-1: Crawler Crane (x2) 7243-1: Construction Site 7900-1: Heavy Loader 7249-1: XXL Mobile Crane 7633-1: Construction Site 7905-1: Building Crane All of them sealed in perfect conditions. I wish I didn't have to sell them but the space in my apartment is small and I'd like to go after newer sets. So, my question is, should I sell th…

Hi all, I am wanting to see if anyone has had any experience selling sets at conventions such as your local comic-con, etc.. I have a ton of older sets and for sure a lot in the $20-$60 range, along with and other notable sets, GEs, RIs, SSDs. I looked and my local is charging about $400-$600 range for a booth. I am pretty sure we can do well, but you never know till you try. But it seems like $600 is a big hole to dig out of just to break even. But I guess just a few of Haunted Houses would pay for it but not sure if large sets sell at things like this or if the smalls are king. Thoughts or tips? Thanks!

  5. I have been collecting Lego set for years and it’s time for me to sell them. Please check my profile worth $4000 if you are interested. I am willing to ship the Lego too. All in perfect condition and from a smoke free home. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum mobile app

  6. Hello fellow brickheads! My wife and I are approaching our 20th anniversary and we've come to the conclusion that kids are not in the cards for us. Why would I reveal something so personal in my first post on this site? Of course, it's because I'm about to sell off my precious collection that's doing nothing but taking up space. I'm thinking of ripping off the band-aid quickly by selling each theme collection at once, and space is by far the majority of my collection (my brickfolio isn't done yet, I'm still adding). All sets are used, most are 100% complete (of course I would detail which ones aren't), I have no original boxes, and some have no printed instructi…

Hi everyone, I have been slowly but successfully selling for a few years. With a new job and new baby this year though I don't have as much time as I'd like to list and pack sets. I'm thinking of finding a buyer for a bunch of sets at once. Where is the best place to post to see if any Brickpickers are interested? Thanks!

What are your personal experiences selling EMPTY Lego boxes locally and/or eBay? How do you ship EMPTY boxes? Flattened? Sandwiched? Unflattened and boxed? How do you list and charge for shipping? BIN? Bid? Thank you for your time. 😎

  9. Hello there, I'm new to this website, so I hope I'm putting this in the right place. I've spent the last couple months digging all my old sets out and seeing how many of them I could put back together, and now I think I'm finally ready to sell 'em! There's about 150 in all; about 2/3 of that is Bionicle, but there's also some old Star Wars, Space Port, Insectoids, RoboRiders, and a few other things. I put together a list of every set by theme here, and since most are missing either the instructions or original packaging, I made a separate list where they're sorted by how intact they are. There's also a pound or two of miscellaneous parts, and a few special parts that…

I was wondering if it is better to sell sets by them selves or to bundle them with other sametheme sets? For Example. I have a few Harry Potter polybags, Forbidden Forrest, Hagrid's hut and castle. At a monetary stand point. Would it be best to sell them individuality (when the time comes) or should I sell as a group. Or should I make small bundles such as a polybag, Forbidden Forrest, and Hagrid's Hut. If that makes sense.

I picked up a lot the other day with a bunch of older western/pirates/forestmen stuff and it came with a load of extra instructions on MINT condition. They look right out of the box. Is there a market for old instructions and if so where would you recommend selling them? Also got a bunch of extra printed/ modified baseplates as well. For those in the community that have a regular job/kids/other responisibilities how do you schedule time to keep the wheels of your hobby turning. Lego in Lego out. Do you schedule to sell one set per day, two sets? Only list on Sundays? Write up your listings during the week and Schedule listings for Sundays. Who hosts your images? Brickpicker or another resource? Looking for what has worked for others in this wonderful world of Lego. From the input I will generate my own Standard Operating Procedures. I have been buying buying buying. My inventory has been expanding and my little room is overflowing. Typically I sell a few sets h…

I spoke with someone who is willing to let me sell his Lego for a cut of the profit. about 100 minifigs and some boxed sets. Anyone done this before? What is a reasonable % for me to get for selling and shipping for him?

Hi Guys Been collecting for several years now , think 2014 I started and wondering if there is a market for bulk buying? so my brickfollio says its value is $86k but I bet I have another 20k or more to add to that as I stopped adding to my brickfollio about 3 years ago, my fault I just got caught up with work and other things and lost track. I have a pretty diverse collection and of course some turkeys too like Tumblers and what not. I understand whoever buys it would be looking to resell it but wonder what sort of price I might get or if I should try sell it individually eBay/Amazon which was my original idea...ahh great plans :-). Not in a major hurry to ge…

Hey guys, I'm new here but I have been wanting to sell my sets for awhile now. I have LOTS of trains related pieces, tracks and several train sets from when when I was younger. I have a question before I try to sell. I do not have the boxes for any of the sets but all the sets are still assembled, would it best for me to leave them assembled and sell them or just break them apart and sell as a bulk?

First off, I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this! I'm taking a trip this winter and I'm letting my Statue of Liberty go to cover some of the cost. I will be posting it on Ebay in a few days, but I figured I would post a heads up on Brick Picker first. (I'd really like it to go to a good home) Few details on the set. My fiancee is the original owner, she has had it ever since she was a kid. It is currently on display in our bedroom. It is a used set, but 100% complete. The instructions are severely damaged, but all there. It seems to be water damage. The cover page is torn off, but besides that all intact. No box. I have included a few pictures of the…

Well it is with a sad heart that I have to “take a break” from the Lego investing game. My wife and I are trying to save up to buy a house and I’m going to try and sell a good amount (or all) of my collection for a down payment. If you are interested in the whole collection please message me and I’ll send you the spreadsheet with sets and quantities. I haven’t had too much experience selling lego (primarily using as an investment) so I don’t have an exact pricing break down but if you are interested in individual sets I’ll do my best to sell them cheaper then anywhere else. Current best offer locally for the whole collection is $11,000. I am accepting best offers for the …

Okay, I have LEGO going back into the 1960's (yes, acetyl acetate stuff) all the way to the early 2000's or so. Old bricks are in varying condition but the newer stuff is mostly solid. Ranges from old basic set parts - classic Pirates, Castle, Adventurers (pre-Indy), Ninja, Star Wars, Legorado, some later Space stuff (had old blue and gray Space parts, long gone). While most of the instructions are still there, very few boxes survive, just a couple. I have no need for this anymore, and no room to keep it and could use the money more than the LEGO. I would prefer it to go to a good home. I'm in the Houston Texas area - if anyone's interested please let …

I found this forum by chance. I was searching for info about original LEGO catalogues. I own an old collection spanning from 1980 until 2003 and was wondering if there's a market for them? Do these get traded the same way as LEGO instructions? I'm located in Belgium and would appreciate any advice (or interest) other forum members might have. Many thanks!

I was hoping someone could give me some insight into selling new in box lego sets on amazon. I am very familiar with selling on ebay, but was thinking about opening an amazon selling account as well. How do the two compare? Do sets on amazon move anywhere as fast as they can on ebay assuming you have a reasonable/competitive price? Any insight would be appreciated!
