General Buying & Selling

Overall discussion on the buying and selling of LEGO

  1. Started by stackables,

Anyone ever get this message? "PayPal Shipping is not available. We apologize for the inconvenience". I just tried to print a label and I got the above message.

Several of the June 1 Harry Potter sets are still listed as 'coming soon' on Lego.com. New 3-in-1 Castle is in same status... Did these get pushed back? New Specific date?

Anyone have advice on this? I'm referring to individual bricks/pieces. I'd be a little scared to just put them in a bubble mailer but it seems like that's really the only way to go. Used the search feature and didn't find anything. Sorry if I am duplicating.

I always thought that "drop shipping" was a derogatory term but I don't think it is really. I guess it is in the way we use it on this website but I was looking at at a golf related item on Ebay and the listing clearly stated that the item would be drop shipped. Just something I found interesting, not sure of its educational value though lol

  6. I got these Legos at a yard sale for 25$. There were 4 different bins but the lady didn't want me to take the bins so I stupidly dumped all of them into one bag mixing them up. It came with 3 booklets so I know some of them are from the Lego 7180 Star wars and Droid Developer kit. It also came with a Wave Breaker Mega Block booklet but I have looked through them and there is no megablock pieces in the stash. There also seem to be some egyptian and harry potter pieces but I am not sure if they are all included Here is an album http://imgur.com/a/JH1rT Would it be a better idea to just sell them by the pound? or should I make the effort to identify the parts? In total it…

First off, I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this! I'm taking a trip this winter and I'm letting my Statue of Liberty go to cover some of the cost. I will be posting it on Ebay in a few days, but I figured I would post a heads up on Brick Picker first. (I'd really like it to go to a good home) Few details on the set. My fiancee is the original owner, she has had it ever since she was a kid. It is currently on display in our bedroom. It is a used set, but 100% complete. The instructions are severely damaged, but all there. It seems to be water damage. The cover page is torn off, but besides that all intact. No box. I have included a few pictures of the…

sorry if this falls under topic redundancy, but someone on Ebay just extended an offer to me from Brazil. Now I know Italy is definitely a no no and you should never sell to someone from there, I was just wondering if anyone had any advice for me regarding Brazil and if its no problem? Thanks!

I'm going to be selling some incomplete sets soon where I took out the minifigs. What's the best practice in packing and shipping these to a buyer? Could I just throw the original bags into a padded mailer or a small box and be done with it? Thanks for any advice.

  10. I don't do a ton of bulk/parting out. I have about 15 lbs I have separated by color. Trying to figure out how to price them in color lots - I know bulk in general goes from $6-$8/lb depending on quality/type, but should I be pricing different colors higher? Follow up Q - would you bother separating every color out or no? As an example I have about 2 lbs of brown, but with some tan, light brown, etc, mixed in. I know stuff like sand green can go for higher, just not sure about others. Any thoughts from the bulk sellers out there appreciated!

Would you sell those 2 sets together or separate? And do you think this Christmas is a good moment to sell them or do you think they will increase their value?

  12. Well somehow, I was able to pick up Arkham Asylum for $37 shipped. The box is beat up and has a huge slash through the middle that happened to go through the first page of book 1 of the instructions. As far as my question goes, several of the bags are still sealed and the rest are loose in the box. Do I open the sealed packages and find out what/if I am missing any pieces? The stickers are unused too. Thoughts?

Hope this is ok to post here, feel free to move if needed. Purchased a #75192 MF from Blinq a little while ago. Due to our recent move hadn't really looked at it much other then to glance over it at receipt. LEGO box was in good shape, seals were open as was listed, boxes inside were mint, bags inside boxes were sealed. Just went to get it out and look it over better and all the guts (bags/instructions/decals) were fake Chinese knockoffs! I'm just over the 30 day easy return period and Blinq doesn't have a phone or chat service! Just sent an email so we will see how they respond or when but I'm thinking of doing a chargeback as well just in case they don't r…

So depending on what lines you have chosen to invest in- are there any sets that you have that you are sick of looking at- wish someone would buy it already? Mine: Lone Ranger Jurassic world Although the obvious is that LR is a not sought after theme, and JW was so massively hoarded that there is not much meat on the bone. Needless to say that sales were promising around BF and have since fizzled out considerably.

Hey guys, A couple of months ago I won an auction for some City Construction sets, brand new. Now, for space and interest in other sets, I must sell most if not all of them. Here's the list of what I have planned to sell: 7746-1: Single-Drum Roller 7631-1: Dump Truck 7685-1: Dozer 7998-1: Heavy Hauler 7344-1: Dump Truck 7632-1: Crawler Crane (x2) 7243-1: Construction Site 7900-1: Heavy Loader 7249-1: XXL Mobile Crane 7633-1: Construction Site 7905-1: Building Crane All of them sealed in perfect conditions. I wish I didn't have to sell them but the space in my apartment is small and I'd like to go after newer sets. So, my question is, should I sell th…

So they are having a toy/comic/cosplay convention here in Jacksonville later this month. I am going to have a vendor table and will be selling my current Lego stuff and my G.I. Joe's and Transformers from when I was a kid. I wanted to see if anyone else has done this and if they have any advices or recommendations. Also, it's the week of August 20th, should I get a Disney castle and ask like $500-$600, since it won't be available yet? Then if it doesn't sell, keep it for the inevitable Christmas shortage.

Since my venture into Lego investing almost 3 months ago, I've had 3 errors in my favor in the last 3 weeks. Without going into too much detail, they include: Refund where the price difference was swapped with sale price. Website price match & BOGO 50% error resulting in half the items being BOGO 50% twice. Miscount on the number of sets shipped. These errors have occurred from 3 different, large retailers without my influence and found out after the fact. I'm going to chalk this up to human error, holiday rush, BF, CM, etc... I have asked family and friends about what they would do. The answers were interesting to say the least... Most sa…

  19. I have seen some of the trans clear Vaders, Troopers, and C3PO in the past and am looking to collect some of those items. Who else has collected these items and has some advice on how to order them, or where to order them from? Should I order them as whole, or just the unique molded pieces? (Meaning, the torsos and legs may independently be cheaper than a whole Trans Clear Vader.) Thoughts?

  21. Hello Everyone, This is my very first post and I'm reaching out because I need a little help. I just acquired a sealed mint LEGO 1068 Air Patrol Extreme Team (1999) set and I'm trying to assess a value. I have searched everywhere. I have found plenty of used sets with no box ranging from $2 to $10, but no sets new in a factory sealed box. The only pricing information I have come across is actually on this site has an American value of $295. I have reached out to the creators of BrickPicker with no luck of a response. Can anyone confirm the value and/or have some sort of history information pertaining to this set? Rick

  22. Debating on whether or not to register as an LLC. Looking for pro's and con's from those of you who have done it, or those of you who have decided not to do it. Not sure if there is a thresh-hold of sales volume or other things to consider when making the decision. I know LEGO isn't exactly an item that you have a ton of liability selling, but thinking that maybe it would make taxes and debt's easier to control and track.

How do most of you that sell >20% of your items internationally handle shipping for items on ebay, where the combined purchase price can reach $150+ ? I've had a few orders now (Singapore, Greece and Russia) where the items seem to disappear for a really long time (20-35 days) and the buyers are usually most interested in blaming me, not the cheap shipping rate/company that they paid. I know that customs can take a while, but the latest order has been MIA in destination country for 29 days now. 99% of my international shipments currently go USPS First Class International since there is nothing else that competes for price. Is it better to reduce the quantity …

I recently got started in collecting Lego items but I need to redirect my effort to something else. During this short period of time, I gathered over 200+ new Lego's (mostly Star Wars, some POTC, Space and City). If I don't want to deal with ebay (high fees) or craigslist (scammer headaches), what would be my other options? Perhaps a Lego reseller? Because of the size of my collection, I would prefer to sell them as one package. Some of my items are: 9498 9489 9440 9491 8084 7929 8083 7741 3365 4436 6911 7914 etc
