I stopped at their store the other day looking to pick up some of the sets mentioned in the title above. I got there and they were sold out. (They had some Lego games items though.) I asked the cashier and he said they sold them all to a guy the day before. He said they were not expecting anymore sets, but he suggested I look on their website to see if they were selling them there. I later checked and they have both in stock. The 4865 Forbidden Forest is $13.99 and the 7914 Mandalorian Battle Pack is $16.99. Over retail, but if you missed the boat on them they might be worth picking up. You can only add up to 2 of the Forbidden Forests and 1 of the Mandalorian Battle Pack…

We are having a garage sale this weekend and I thought of putting some sets out. I know people go to these looking for deals. Is it worth the time since the sets I want to sale would be $50-100 each. Just curious if anyone has had good luck selling unopened sets at a garage sale.

Good morning brickpickers! Fall is here and it's that time of year for a huge neighborhood garage sale. I would like to participate in it. http://www.huntcross.com/garagesale.html This thing is massive 100+ families. Get there early! However I have never sold Lego at a garage sale. I would suspect there will be many people looking for a deal. So how do I sell my wares at slightly below current market prices to reflect lower fees since I am not selling on ebay or amazon? I need to finish my write-up for what I will have available. My collection/hoard is extensive. I have multiples of many exclusives exo's, 10229-7, 10228-10, 10227-3, 1…

Curious how in-store stocks are holding up since it seems that many online sources are drying up -- good for resellers and any of us LLQF's LEGO SAH makes it easy to breakdown by price and what's in stock (once you eliminate the items that are not buildable sets -- i.e. STEM kits, EV3 modules, etc... that still show in the list even though you specify "Sets" in the filter). Here's their status (US market) as I measured: Price Range, Sets Available, As a Percent >$100: 18, 23% $75 to $100: 13, 19% $50 to $75: 17, 26% $25 to $50: 27% (stopped screening buildable sets, and just divided available into avail+sold out+backordered) <…

May be something others already know, but if giving a refund through paypal and you don't have a balance, Paypal doesn't front the money. they contact your bank and it will usually take several days. Many of you may already know this. You also cannot cancel it once it happens. I have never had a problem before. I was trying to refund someone yesterday and it is pending until thursday and though I now have money in my account, nothing can be done paypal said. Luckily it was so we could cancel a transaction and repurchase so my ebay buyer is cool. But I wanted to alert anyone who had to give a refund to an Ebay buyer. Don't want to take a chance on getting…

A while back in the UK deals thread there was a lot of talk regarding income tax / VAT etc so I thought it would be a good idea if we had a thread dedicated to it. As the majority of people on this forum are from North America, and they have totally different rules / regulations to tax etc we can keep this thread for UK only. It seems like ebay are now clamping down on the masses of Chinese sellers who undercut all the UK sellers and not pay any tax / VAT: ***VAT compliance for overseas sellers*** 09 November, 2016 | 01:34PM GMT Hello, Earlier this year, the UK government announced new measures to tackle the non-payment of VAT…

Here is an interesting quote from a website 5 years ago that I agree with very much and wonder what some of your thoughts are. Albeit some on here have such large collections and sell mostly misb so it takes some less time than parting out a set but for the most part arent we all limited by time and space and will find it hard to make millions selling lego. I do make a good living from reselling but do not see a bright future personnaly in Lego no retirement other than my toy stock no benefits and little time off and an ever challenging and ebay marketplace are just some of the difficulties we face... "As someone who actually does buy and sell Legos on eBay and Brickli…

Hey all, I am new to all this Lego investing and selling. Got into by accident when I found a MF at Walmart on clearance for $99. I had a feeling it was a valuable commodity and went on to make $60 profit on flipping it. Since then I've gone on to spend way too much on Lego products and am slowly learning just how steeply discounted an item needs to be to make money. My question is.... Is it common to profit about $10 per set? So far that's been my reality. For instance, I bought a Lake-town Chase for $40+tax at WM a few weeks back. Just sold it on Amazon for $73 (including SH). After fees and shipping I'm anticipating netting approximately $10 profit. …

I'm pretty new at all this so this stuff is all new to me. brickworld Chicago is June 15th(Father's Day)..so I figured there's no better way to spend it with my wife and 2 kids playing with, seeing, and buying(tons ****** tons) of Legos. Then after ordering off lego.com for my darth revan minifigure. I got the ticket deal and figured it would be even better to go to the discovery center afterwards. But I'd like to know of any tips (besides bring all my credit cards lol) that would be good to know for either place. Like..best things to see or do. The must-see's etc. thank you all in advance for the help and advice!

A few sets I picked up recently at Walmart have a round golden sticker, on the front of the box near the set number. The sticker says "Oppenheim toy portfolio best toy award gold seal". I don't know if this sticker was put on by Lego or someone else. It looks okay, it doesn't cover anything important, but I am not sure it belongs there. Are these stickers undesirable from a collector or investor standpoint? Should I try to remove them if I can do so without damaging the boxes?

Bit of advice folks. I am trying to complete a 8275 Technic Bulldozer before listing it. I have bought a few pieces on ebay but I suspect to buy all the missing pieces will quickly eliminate any profits on the set. So I thought I might try to get my head around Bricklink or Brickowl. Does anyone know any good Bricklink or Brickowl stores that are UK based? I was at Steam in Swindon last weekend and Minifigforlife.com had a stall there. Their Bricklink store seems to be good but does not have everything I need. I want one that provides a good service and good range of parts. Does not have a silly minimum purchase; Minifig for life is

My wife and I have been putting all of our sets together lately and building a giant 5x10 foot city display. We still have about 6 sets or so to put together and then we are going to be building our own creations to fill in the gaps. I have been looking on eBay for bulk Lego listings. It looks like they are usually around $10/pound. It seems a bit expensive. Does anyone know what is a good per pound price for bulk Lego pieces? Also does anyone know a good place to download instructions for custom buildings like the following ones? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Blue-Corner-Cafe-Building-Instruction-10185-10182-10185-10197-10211-10218-10232-/251231411526?pt=Building_Toys_U…

I purchased 3723 LEGO Mini Figure over the weekend for $168 shipped. Used with Manual. I am totally stoked about this because I have wanted this set forever. I see it is slightly lower than avg value. Trust the seller and the photos looked good. But the better deal is I scored a 10030 for $360 Sealed from a lady who had 3. I thought it might be a scam. I emailed her and she wrote back saying her father passed away and he bought 3 of these and 3 10188's for the boys in the family. But she decided to sell them because the boys said they didn't want them. There are no pictures so I really don't know what to expect. Just hope I don't get scammed. She had 6 seperate listing…

When you sell an item on eBay, it is great how you can print a label right from your "My eBay" page. You get it at a pretty good discounted rate, plus free delivery confirmation which is worth about 80 more cents. This is accomplished through the Pitney Bowes service. Does anybody know of a way to get similar deals like this without going through eBay? I prefer to keep using USPS because they have always been good to me, and I would like to do my part to help keep them in business. Thanks!

Are there any websites to sell Lego sets besides ebay? I have a few sets I need to shed to raise some cash for unexpected bills. I'm trying to avoid ebay since the whole fee thing is getting ridiculous there. -***-

So, I was moving some sets around today and noticed my Hobbit Lonely Mountain (79018) felt a little light and when I shook it around a bit, it sounded like small pieces were loose in the box. Weighed it and sure enough, it was 1362g compared to the normal weight of 1688g. Opened it up and every bag was opened, there were maybe only 100-150 bricks inside (Smaug and all the minifigs missing), a few pieces were connected together, there was some cardboard, a couple used Lego Club magazines (no identifying info on them, unfortunately), instructions for 79014, and a stray woman's hair. I bought it at a local TRU 2 years ago, so I'm **** outta luck, right? The seals loo…

So I went on bricklink and wanted to buy some more jet packs for my clones, found a guy that had ten for $.99 a piece so I ordered them. Well, they came yesterday and I was really excited about this, (I LOVE jet packs) but when I opened them up everything seemed normal until I compared it with another jet pack I had got in a set and the one I order was just a tad bit different, I looked on the back for the piece ID number and "The Lego group" thingy but neither of them were there. I emailed the guy and he wrote back saying that he had bought these off Bricklink a long time ago and that he didn't know about them being customs, but if I sent them back he would give me a ful…

So I purchased a bulk lot yesterday for a school holiday activity I'm running - mainly for the random mix of bricks and bits which can be hard to replicate piece by piece. The photos of the listing were terrible but I took a punt. Happy with the contents at initial glance - a stack of knights kingdom stuff (including 2 castles) and spotted a few indications of spiderman which turned out to be doc ocks hideout. Probably worth four times what I paid on those bits alone ! Further digging last night revealed fire and police stations, a very cool rescue helicopter plus more smallish city sets, exo force and a tiny bit of star wars just in the bulk lot. Pretty happy with that, …

Just got an email that they are having good sales at Smyths Toys in the UK. Looks like some Lego can be in there as well. I did not spend a ton of time in there, but maybe there are a few decent finds. Click the image or click here to visit Smyths Toys I also see they have 20% off certain Star Wars sets
