75827 - Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters

Did anyone see this? A ghostbusters HQ set is rumored to be coming in 2016.

http://www.groovebricks.com/lego-ghostbusters-firehouse-hq-75827-coming-in-2016/

LEGO Ghostbusters fans are in for a real treat next year! Over on YouTube, Just2Good – one of the most reliable sources when it comes to early LEGO set news – has states that there will be a LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ set coming in 2016!

According to him, the set’s number will be 75827 and it will contain a whopping 4,600 pieces! Obviously, with such a high number of pieces comes a high price to pay. Just2Good stated that the Firehouse HQ will retail for a total of $350.00 USD. As for the release date, we should see this bad boy hitting the shelves on January 1st, 2016.

In regards to the actual set, we still dont know the finer details. We don’t know exactly which minifigures will be included, however, we do know that it will be based off the original film rather than the new movie that’s coming out next year.

Though details are lacking, I’m pretty sure many of you are quite hyped for this new set. As always, we should expect more details to come out the closer we get to the month of January. Perhaps, we might even get an early tease/look at the set at this year’s New York Comic Con which is going to be held between October 8-11.

okay... I guess I'll just believe you and your source ^^

As a fan I'm excited about this, but the Ecto-1 is going on 16+ months and I was hoping it would be done in 2 years or less.  I can't see the sense in having the HQ without an Ecto-1 so I'm afraid it will be around as long as the HQ is.  Here I was just starting to stock up on these but I'm thinking it's too soon now.

It's never too soon.  Too late is another story...

When you have limited capital it can always be too soon.  These days it's pretty easy to load up near the end with LEGO pumping out everything but the true exclusives to so many retail channels.

All we need now is someone to post the obligatory "Lego will never retire the Ecto-1 before the new movie" comment.

I wouldn't be surprised to see something with the 2016 cast.

Lego will never retire the Ecto-1 before the new movie. :)

Uwww, that guy scared the crap out of me in the cinema when I was a kid. Not good.

Notice emazers didn't say "The New Ghostbusters Headquarters 'Does not come with Ecto1'"

....

So could it come with the old Ecto-1?

Or am I reading too literally into this?

Well let's just hope the ideas ecto will actually fit into the building. Knowing Lego, it won't.

14 pounds is pretty big.  Smaller than the 10188 (18 lbs.) though.

That would be a shame.  But given the overall dims it's possible.

BTW, this is no longer "rumored" right? Maybe, the title can be updated.

It's an SSD sized box, not DS sized.

SSD dims: 22.80 x 19.10 x 7.30

the figure choices are all outstanding. Except for this guy. Why in the world would they pick this obscure 1.5 Seconds appearance character as opposed to, Oh I don't know, Vigo the Carpathian?!?!?!?!

not to be that complaining fanboy but come on.

One would imagine the manual to be less comprehensive than for DS....

SSD is 15 pounds.  10188 is 18 lbs.  This is 14 lbs.  Large set piece wise...A lot of mid to smallish pieces most likely.

Those 1.5 seconds provided many children with recurring nightmares for days after that film!

I am still hoping for a piece a la carbonited Han or at least sticker to represent the painting

that's a good point maybe he's not a figure maybe use a piece. Another figure I would love to see is Yanosh. Just so I could have a mini figure that says "why am i dripping vizh goo?

Another potential set idea considering Lego's recent rehashing of existing sets is the Statue of Liberty. Of course this would be a motorized walking version just like the at-at.

of course that would be difficult for the LEGO Group to get past the family friendly customers. Because she's not wearing anythingunder there. She's French, you know?

Probably because they can save some money and use all existing parts and prints for a zombie driver.  If that is the case it would be a lame move by Lego considering the MSRP.

I guess it gives them an excuse to add another vehicle and monster to the set.

This will go great with the haunted house
