they should have made the drum kit out of stormtrooper helmets. I would totally have respected that.

So, with the huge number of people buying these up, will LEGO release even more next year and crash out the demand for the Advent Calendar next year?

I would be very interested to see year-by-year comparisons of advent calendar peak price/date, first OOS date, featured characters, etc. Somebody do some science!
