Thank you so much ravenb99 for posting pictures of the SHIELD emblem, I was wondering how it looks without the minifigs on it. :airkiss:

Appreciate your build !

Worked a little more on it this morning.  Not sure of exact times but roughly 1.5 - 2 hours for the next 3 bags (4, 5, 6).  This should be roughly 50% done as there are 12 bags (most have multiples) and page 220/440.  Those guys at LEGO sure had there math down for a halfway point.

Bag 4 is small and only 14 pages.  Its just the side moldings and the side stickers to the ship.

Bag 5 is the first propeller / motor and Bag 6 is the opposite side.  Basically the same build for each of those.

Also took pics of the minifigs built to this point (Hawkeye & Maria Hill)

Can already tell I'm going to want some 30162 and the new 30304 Quinjet polybags to add to this when I'm done.

Done for the night again.  This is bags 7,8, and 9 and has us through page 335 out of 440.  Bags 7 and 8 were just the other propeller / motor stations and are slightly bigger than the first 2.  It was nice rotating these in the build as they are pretty much all the same so we each did 1 smaller and 1 larger.

Bag 9 you start closing up the deck of the ship and put on the engines in the back.  Those are probably the least sturdy attachments so far.  Everything so far has been constructed really well and feels like one of the more solid large builds.

Hoping to finish tomorrow after work with the last 3 bags 10, 11, and 12.  Then to add the power functions (what I am looking forward to most)

Saw the micro figs in there and they are ridiculously small.  They are like the size of a peg in a battleship game.

Also attached photos of Cap and Nick Fury minifigs.

Love the Maria Hill figure. The Shield symbol on the shoulder is a nice detail. Also really like the maskless Cap.

The micro control room is awesome.  I'd love to see that kind of bridge detail on a set like 10030.  Plus all the Technic innards.  Can't wait to see what it does with power functions added!

The beast is done.  Had to extend the home photo station for this thing.  Lightings a little off in places for that reason.  Not really enough room but I got some decent photos with some angles and stuff.  Think the time was roughly 9 hours (3 the first night, and 2 per the next 3 nights).

Hooked up the power functions but didn't have the right size battery here to close it up.  It does work perfect though, all 4 rotors spin and the lights light up the front glass below.  You can see the propeller spinning in a blur in the last photo.

Have Iron Man micro fig flying high over the carrier.

Looks great now I just need to figure out where to display it.

Fun build overall and it is very sturdy for such a large ship.  Pretty pleased with that.  Some builds just seem to fragile.

Pics will be in 2 posts.

I KNOW, Looks F8ckin Awesome! Thank You for the multiple pictures also.

I have to wait until I have another sealed one in my hands,

Pretty slick looking build. Now I'm torn, I have enough VIP points to cover a helicarrier but I was going to use them for a sandcrawler. Decisions, decisions.

Edit: grammar

I posted in the FBA thread as well - Amazon support told me this set wasn't going live on Amazon until 6/1.

Could be a mistake on their part on the date or it's a lego exclusive until then.

Was making same choice as you. I'm leaning toward the sandcrawler first. My thinking is grab a sandcrawler during double vip and wait for the winter solidier promo that I think I read somewhere they are doing in June and using pts to knock down that price a bit. . I did check out a display at my Lego store it's a pretty awesome build a little smaller than what I was expecting though from the pics

I bought one and sold the minifigures.  While they are nice, I am much more interested in collecting the comic version of these characters and for the prices they sell for it made it easy for me to justify keeping the Helicarrier for my personal collection.  I will be adding the power functions as well when I place my next Shop at Home order later this month.  It looks awesome and thanks for all the pics along the way!

I'm also leaning towards the sandcrawler first just on the sole fact I'm a much bigger Star Wars fan than a comic book fan.
