Apparently there is a TRU Express/Outlet at a nearby outlet mall. I haven't been up there in a while but don't recall seeing it, maybe it's new? Anyone else have one of these near them? Guessing they won't have Lego, but wondering if others have experience.

TRU has the new SW planet sets of Series 3. I could only find the 2/3 of them though. According to the NY Toy Fair, they are supposed to come out next month. None are on sale. I have a very strong feeling the answer to my question is no but I will ask anyway. I noticed that TRU has a special this week if you spend $75 you get $15 off. I assume they won't let me use my 20% off coupon I have on top of that offer so I wont even try. However will they price match their website and then still let me have the $15 off $75 offer? I was scrolling through the items TRU has listed as exclusive and came across the 7939 train. Pulled it up on BL which shows that both Target and Walmart carry it (which they do), but Amazon does not. Is this simply an error by TRU? Follow up question: thoughts as the lifespan of this set since it has been around 2010?

I bought a LOTR set today but I bought it online instead of in the store. The reason I bought it online is because in the store they put those stupid spider wraps around the box which dings it up. My question is has anybody ordered online from Toys R Us and we're ok with their packaging? Are the sets they send to you from a store or warehouse.If it was from a store than it probably was spider wrapped. I just want a nice clean box.

Thought some of you might be interested in the polybags. just bought four of them. i found them by accident it seems. i was taken there after i clicked on a toys r us link and placed the order but when i went back and tried searching the website for them i couldnt find them for sale anywhere. Let me know if anyone finds out what section they are listed in.

When you go into Toys R Us to the Lego section it's like going to the Gentleman's Club. You are overwhelmed by the choice and selection. You drool and salivate. So many to choose from...you want them all! So much more than Walmart or Target or any where else (save a Lego Store). There are so many to choose from.......and all so beautiful. You make your choice(s) then head to the checkout aisle. Once at the register it's like coming home late and your wife (or GF) sees the lipstick on your collar then knees you in the groin.....several times. The prices at Toys R Us suck the wind right out of you like a genital hit. Even with a BOGHO the blow is barely softened.

Some of The Hobbit sets were at my local TRU today (the 26th). I was surprised to see them because I thought tomorrow was the official first day for them. They had An Unexpected Gathering (79003)($79.99); Attack of the Wargs (79002)($59.99); and The Goblin King Battle (79010)($119.99). Even though the prices were above MSRP they were having a BOGO 50% on most LEGO and I believe these were included. They also had Gandalf the Grey polybags for $3.99.

I know you all hate TRU, but just saw that they are having a sale. First thing that caught my eye was 8043 for $159 with free shipping.

My local TRU has phangpyre mechs for 18 bucks each.......sweet deal considering the market value on this set is 40 bucks! Any normal AIOL would clear the shelves with this deal. How many did I scoop up you ask???? 0!!!!! I refuse to give TRU another dime of my money due to their poor bussiness/shipping practices!! *AIOL = adult investor of LEGO....... I have to get this off my chest. I have made 2 purchases over the last 2 weeks and have not received any reward points. TRU is also running a promotion where you get 10% back and double reward points if you use the TRU credit card. I called them 6 days ago to report the issue. Of course the person I talked to couldn't do anything and forwarded everything to corporate. She told me to wait 5 days. 5 days have passed and in the meantime, I place another order. Which of course I didn't receive rewards for that order either. That brings us to today. I called, gave them my reference number and told them about my new order problem. TRU says that if you use their credit card you can get free shipping (no minimum purchase). I tried this and it looks like I am still getting charged for shipping. Has anyone had any luck with this?

I've gotten the blue and green sets so far. Error on getting the yellow, as I had purchased my order online and it included the set, then when I got my confirmation, it was gone. I complained but TRU's customer service didn't help. Anyone else been picking these up? It's been somewhat difficult to be sneaky under TRU's jacked up prices, but i've been able to pick up sets i've liked for LEGO retail just above the $60 threshold.

Are they worth spending 60$ at Toys r Us to get? Im new to collecting, and just wondering if these will have any collector value in the future. I picked up vol 1 last week, but they had a sale buy one set get 1 40% off. So I picked up 2 Duo Funhouses (6857), but this week with no sales I cant justify picking up vol 2. I think my money would better be spent on retired sets on ebay. Any veteran insight would be appreciated.
