General Buying & Selling

Overall discussion on the buying and selling of LEGO

  1. Hello, First off, if this post is not permitted on the forums, just delete it. Often I find myself browsing US online stores and always being surprised about how good you have it in the US with the price of Lego. Many of these stores don't ship to Australia and one of those is the Lego US store which is probably the worst due to its strict policy on Freight Forwarders. I am willing pay for this service say $10 per package forwarded, and even a little more if you went to local retailer and purchased a set and shipped it to Australia. Obviously there are issues of trust. So I'm looking for someone who is fairly trusted on these forums, good ebay feedbac…

  2. Ive seen posts on here about where to sell lego's and I've noticed it is harder to interact on here. I came upon a website that looks like it is still being built but is up and running. From what I see it has an auction however it isn't completed yet. It also looks as if it is a facebook for collectors of some type. Maybe a new avenue to sell and buy collectables. if you want to check it out www.nerdinout.com.

  4. Here's the deal. I can get a discount on the following sets (I won't go into details) and am looking for one FOR A PERSONAL BUILD and would like suggestions, particularly if you have built one. I will still get any Lego promos, so May 4th promos are worth considering. Discount is based on my cost in Canadian dollars from US LEGO Shop at Home, after tax, compared to buying from Canada LEGO Shop at Home, after tax (including exchange rate). Fairground Mixer - 25% Detective's Office - 27% off Slave 1, Tie Fighter, Kwik-E-Mart - 20% off Tower Bridge (although I never bought one at 150US so why buy one now) - 32% off Sea Cow - 26% off Sandcrawler - 22% off Sydney Ope…

So after my issue with Amazon it's my wakeup call and I think it's time to diversify. Looking for some of the smaller outfits as an alternative to Amazon or eBay. I plan on listing here on these brick classifieds, but was looking at other options as well... casting a wide net with low fees. Anyone have any experience selling LEGO on eCrater, ebid, iOffer, Bonanza, or etsy? Any other good options out there outside of the big players?

Hi there, I am looking for Lego resellers in US particularly tax free state (you lucky peeps). -I buy Legos in bulk particularly exclusive sets to ship to my country. -I will arrange courier to pickup so all you need to do is get the Lego sets on request, fill some form and package it nicely. -I make full payment before shipping so no worries on your side (although mutual trust will need to be established for first contact) If you are interested, please PM me for further discussion. Thanks.

Hi, I am hoping someone may lead me to the right direction on where I can find clamshell packaging like the Build A Minifigure at the Lego store. Prefer to have slots for 5 figures if possible. If anyone have any idea where I can get them that would be greatly appreciated!

Hi guys I'm a big fan of Lego Pirates. I own some of the original classic pirates sets and the newer models. I managed to pick up some of the potc sets like the QAR and Whitecap bay but sadly missed out on the Black Pearl. I'm really eager to pick this set up but its so expensive in the after market right now. Is anyone on here looking to sell there's or know some one or somewhere that isn't selling it for a ludicrous price. Thanks. Admins if this is the wrong place to post this please take it down, thanks again

Hi BPs, I have a collection of MISB legos that I've collected over the period of around 10 years. Everything is in great shape, sans maybe a few boxes that have dents or dings. I was very selective and usually had a dented box shipped back to LSAH and returned for a good one. Ideally, I'd like to have msrp (I already paid 6% sales tax, which I would'nt be charging for. I realize thats not easy, because someone with a large wallet will need to put up $, and thats why I'm willing to let it go for msrp, currently. I realize there are some good sets and some sets that may take a bit longer to sell, but overall, I think there is decent money to be made. I'd be…

  12. Hello. After recently having a clear out in the house (nightmare!) amongst the crates upon crates of lego i used to own when i was younger I have come across set 6339 space shuttle with launch pad. Now after looking through ebay etc i haven't really had much luck in finding out how much it is worth Everything is in the box as most of it is actually still made up, the instructions are there as well. The box itself has seen slightly better days but is in no way overly damaged or falling apart. Just wondering if anyone here could give me some direction as to how much this is worth as I'd like to sell and give someone else the oppotunity with more time…

  15. Hello everyone. New member here. Just started collecting lego for fun a couple months ago. Discovered there are so many awesome sets, and realized I couldn't just keep on buying everything without funding my hobby from other means. So decided to look at investing in sets and sell them at profit, which led me to this awsome site. Anyway, I'm trying to decide if I should go the the pirate ship ambush for 69.99 at TRU (after the $20 discount) or the Vampyre Castle for 89? From where I am (Central IL) the Vampyre Castle is harder to find. But the pirate ship seems to be a very good deal. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Jan 23, 2013 02:24 PM I sold some greeting cards through the eBay Global Shipping program. It is my policy to print shipping cost on my labels and send a note to my buyer that I do not overcharge on shipping. Now with the global shipping my cost to get it to the facility is obv. only the domestic cost. eBay then charges international shipping rates My buyer sent a message about this a…

  17. So my story begins upon leaving the movie theatre after viewing The Desolation of Smaug. With nothing scheduled for the afternoon, I decided to take a quick peek in the nearby Wal-Mart to see if there was anything of note within their clearance section. This particular Wal-Mart is one of the older, less desirable ones, small and disorganized that I had frequented only once before. If I had any expectations, they would have been extremely low. So into the store I go, heading straight for the clearance banner hanging by the garden section of the store. As I walk down the aisle, my heart skips a beat when I gazed upon a new, undamaged 4840, The Burrow. I couldn

Hey guys. So tomorrow (5/20/13) I'll be making my first major Lego run. I live in NJ and close to NYC so the stores around me do not have any crazy clearance sales ever. The county I live in however has Blue Laws in effect, which means stores are not open on Sundays. This is nice because the circulars and sales are posted on Sundays but nobody can shop until Monday. It gives me time to really check for good sales. Anyway, I've got between $500 and $700 to spend. I'll be trying to get some MF sets as well as some LOTR sets. Many of the stores have discounted SW sets (A-wing being the most prominent; 28% off) this week. Should I pick up some SW sets like this? Also, wha…

Hey All, I have the unfortunate task of selling my dads collection! I had someone advise me to sell the minifigs separate and then just sell all the sets as lbs of bulk pieces. I was wondering if that is really the best route considering half of the sets are discontinued. The majority of the sets are Star Wars but also include many others. Discontinued sets are of the old clone wars era, Hoth, and Ewok, and some specific ships. Before I list anything, i was just wondering what some more expert opinions are. Condition of all sets are that they are displayed in varying combat scenarios or hug as if they are flying in a dedicated space. They are all well car…

I have a fellow investor that has had a bit of a hard time and needs to unload his collection. Is CL the best place. Ebay is no go because he needs the money soon. i am buying a bit from him today. He said he would return it all to the stores but is thre a place here where he can offer it up? He is doing cost on all of the pieces. Not trying to peddle wares, just asking.
