  2. Some people flip right away and make a profit, others flip right away and make nothing. A quality set like the Tower Bridge might appreciate for years. I am not one to recommend quick flips for most LEGO sets. If you have the space and extra money, let the sets sit for a couple of years...maybe even 4-5 on some. You might be surprised the returns you get. There is a vocal "flipper" coalition on these forums that like to promote that sort of investment strategy. I on the other hand play it much more conservative and look for long term gains. It's very much like stocks. There are many ways to make money, you just have to decided what your risk tolerance and time frame is before choosing a type of LEGO set. My way might not always maximizes profits, but it lets me sleep at night.

  3. Besides being yet another excuse for a thread poll, I would like to gauge public opinion on this year's offerings for the Super Heroes line personally and as a potential investment. The first two questions are multiple choice meaning you can select more than one option before placing your vote.

  4. From the album: LFoW's MFZ MOC's

The 00009 is the production model of the UMD-30 "Acheron" frame, re-purposed as a peacekeeping unit by the Solar Union to guard Transit Gates, Government Installations and other key public facilities. Unlike the Acheron, the Seneschal has had its armor bulked up, favoring durability over mobility, though it retains the Acheron's iconic head-mounted sensor array. Its armament includes a heavy plasma beam cannon for ranged attacks, and a vibro-glaive for melee encounters. LFOW's Note: This is actually the first frame I've designed which is going to hit the market! I'll be listing this frame on an eBay auction sometime soon when I work out some details. Testing the waters to see if my designs have a place amongst people who would prefer to buy complete MFZ frames rather than go through the process of obtaining parts and building themselves. THIS FRAME IS FOR SALE! FLICKR LINK.

  6. And even more have or have access to either ipad or android based tablets. Tablets and apps are the future of touch screen based games, not NDS. Plus it will make OrcKing less awkward getting caught playing Friends games on his iPad than NDS ;)

  10. Very tempted to pick one of these up, but in reality I'd rather spend $300 on a SSD if It goes on sale at this point.

  11. One of the Walmarts near me just marked their toy clearance "room" (the old nail salon in the front of the store) 50% off all Red Tags. Picked up a Ghost Train for $27 and a Crazy Sci & His Monster for $17! First time I've seen an opportunity to get either of these sets cheaper than the $54 and $35 prices they've been stuck at for the last two months.

  12. I wonder if the other exclusives will be onsale too... They currently list R2 at 179 so would be nice to take 25% off that.

  17. I think it's a good time to buy Unimog now since it should be EOL this year. and AA still have a long way to go. I will go with Unimog now and AA next year.

  20. Leverage was one of the best show cut short way too soon imnho. I would love to see how the new team dynamic at the end of s5 had worked in s6. The chemistry among the cast was awesome, you could not help but root for them. Plus they evolved organically over time. The show was basically mission imposible met the A team met modern robin hood. I liked it so much I watched season 1 dvd in 3 nights.
