Again don't shoot the messenger on this one folks....Quite honestly not sure what to make of it GWP: 40785 Northern Lights Diorama Gift With Purchase Revealed (Mid-October Release)4 points

That's fine. Opinions vary. It represents what is fun about Lego that is lost on the SW fanbois and resellers. By far the best Star Wars set of the year and it will be a fun decoration next to my UCS AT-AT.4 points

To think I was born around the middle of this line's run, and by the time I would have been old enough to start it quietly retires. Imagine an original theme running for a good decade before heading off into the sunset. Also imagine being limited to three colors of red, blue, & yellow for a build with the occasional white and green for accents or foliage.4 points

If anyone is looking to cash out, drop me a line. I’m always looking for collections and, depending on timing and size, can manage large buyouts…just no arm breaking please4 points

I know exactly what you mean. As a 65 year old, wanting to rid myself of everything so that I can move to the Philippines, I have been saying for 2 years that I will buy no more. Even with brisk sales lately on BrickLink/Owl I still have well over $100k of stock to sell.I sold two of my Blacksmiths and two modulars this past week. But what good does that do me when I fill the gap with new stock, no matter the deal. i swear that, if someone would come in and offer me 50% of original msrp of all my stock, including the sets like Old Fishing Stores and Stranger Things, I'd break their arm, snatching the money. I pay $600 a month just in warehouse/office fees!4 points

That’s messed up, you need at least 7 to make a complete Death Star. Aftermarket mark-ups here I come..3 points

I had the “honor” of getting to see the D. Slice built in person today. You know how sometimes you are unsure about a set but once you see it in person it just wows you and you have to have it? Well, this is not that set! To be fair none of the Minifigures or the loose builds, except for the imperial shuttle, were in their display position like they probably will be once the set is in the storefront window, but wow it looked really bad to me just a big grey block of bricks. The UCS AT-AT and MILF both look awesome without minifigures. Was holding out hope that when Shop Disney has their 25% off everything sale later this year to grab one but even at $750 it’s a no deal for me.3 points

I rarely flip as I am too lazy but this has $20/set roi written all over it. I was only able to ship 3 and local pickup 2. When I first started, it allowed for 10 shipping but I committed the cardinal sin of sending an email to a friend about it before purchasing myself.3 points

Deceptive advertising. Gringot's Bank does not retail for $500 so you're not saving 20%. I hate when companies lie about things like this. So if anyone bought from this "Sale" go back and double check the actual retail price of the set you bought and see how much you really saved. Gringots bank you save $30 not $100 as advertised. Other sets seem to be priced accurately. Odd.3 points

Anyone tracking this: supposedly, some sets on sale at Lego.com starting tomorrow...2 points

I also have it for free also, if they ever offer you a free year you should take it because they give you something free every month usually around $10. My guess is that it’ll be 30% off for everyone tomorrow because it says it expires today for members.2 points

Some good deals at Target and in the app if you have Target Circle 360, an additional 30% off some decent sets2 points

Already back ordered online and sold out at most brick and mortar. I’m surprised the resellers on here were dissing this set. It’s an exclusive, budget friendly Star Wars set that will be sold out for the holidays. Seems like a winner to me.2 points

It would have been interesting to see the AT-AT walker in style of the holiday X-Wing from 2019 or perhaps designed in red with pearl gold trimmings for a Santa's sleigh appearance and include a modern Santa Vader (a Santa Palpatine might have been funny too). At the least they did not take the easy route of making another basic walker then sticking a pair of reindeer antlers with a red nose at the front like some inflatable yard ornament from Home Depot. This is an incredibly niche set for the holidays and unless there are some exclusive/limited pieces to the build, it's pretty much the Gingerbread Darth Vader pulling the reins here. I am not a fan of gingerbread in general yet somehow enjoy the idea in toy form or for a winter village layout. Did not realize a cookie could be so divisive, haha.2 points

its freaking ugly. not even good for gwp. They would have done better doing with the AT AT as they did with the holiday X-Wing2 points

I bought it from Amazon 9/12/2021, can’t believe it has been out that long, for $85. Original MSRP was $100 and it got bumped up to $120 ETA: my review from back then I thought it was overpriced at $100 and that was the first sale in the year it had been out. It is an excellent brick built ship with a few neat techniques and angles. It is really well detailed and if you can get past the brick built sails I would say it is better than almost every lego ship under $100 in the past 10 years. It is really solid and would make for a great play set. The B build looks interesting, uses most of the parts, and I will hopefully get around to that this winter.2 points

Extra 30 days for returns, free 2-day shipping (with some next day), free same-day delivery on $35+ orders, monthly freebies (mine was $10 off store branded food), and premium access to sales. Seems worth the $0 price to me. Not sure it is worth anything more than that.1 point

Someone posted this on amazon forums From Google's Gemini: No, Amazon does not treat all third-party sellers fairly; many sellers report experiencing unfair competition from Amazon itself, including allegations of product cloning, manipulation of search results, and opaque, automated account suspension processes. While Amazon states it offers choice and opportunity, and some sellers thrive, these practices and systemic issues can be financially damaging, making the platform a complex and sometimes hostile environment for third-party businesses. Before selling on Amazon all new sellers should go to Google and type in "does Amazon treat 3P sellers fairly" and read the entire summary. From there you might also want to Google: "Is Amazon an ethical company?" and "Is Amazon a corrupt company?" This is not your father's river; the water is choppy and there is no lifeguard on duty, enter these waters with care.1 point

I think this is so weird and don't understand why Lego would ever spend any development/production time on this. I'm not even sure I'd pay $30 for it. I find it hard to imagine that anyone down the road would feel like they missed out not getting this set at retail.1 point

exactly my point .you entered the correct dimensions but they anyway charged you more later on. I don't understand how that is legal to advertise a service for one price and then just take more money then that1 point

You can make a deal with someone to use their points and then they give you the code to use on your order. ETA: I think these were available before so check BL but it is down now for the integration1 point
