I think you're in the minority with that mind set. I think that's exactly why it appeals to people. "Oh another tie fighter and X wing..." It's a close UCS without the sticker (which the badge means nothing anymore) it displays nicely and I honesty think it will do well post retirement for that reason...it's different and from an iconic scene/battle. Anyone 21+ who grew up with OT would want this set. It may not be for everyone but don't be mistaken and say it's a led balloon. I personally havnt built mine yet but looking forward to it and displaying it. Has more to "look at" than most all grey ships.

Just received this e-mail: Subtle Lego... very subtle

Back in September I started sorting through a recent Craigslist find and two pieces happen to end up in my hand at the same time. The train cow catcher, and the coffin lid with bats. I'm not a train guy but when I held these two pieces together i just knew they would go well together! And with it being so close to Halloween, I felt it just clicked. I borrowed some of the basics of typical lego train builds for the base but after that, it's all me. The Spider body utilizes a modified Lowell Sphere. I present my Halloween train & red backed spider MOC.

I got a shipping notification from EBay a few hours after I purchased. It said the item was sent with Media Mail. When I went to my purchase history to pick up the Tracking Code (I keep my purchases and sales tracked until they are delivered), I noticed there wasn't one. Said Media Mail and an expected delivery date, but no number. Until today, when it suddenly switched to Priority Mail with a tracking number. Hence my theory about them having tried the Media Mail route and having to switch to Priority Mail when the PO refused to accept the package.

Regarding the Media Mail package from a few days ago: I think the seller got told off by the Post Office - now there is a tracking number for Priority Mail and package has been accepted by USPS. They must have tried to send it Media Mail and got denied at the counter.

I think what you see in your online banking is just a credit card hold. Lego normally will really charge your credit card when the order is ready to ship. If you have used a debit card I am sorry as I am not really sure how it would work. We can read the fine print in the Lego website to find out.

I did "some" orders, at the moment I am not at home so I cannot check if they delivered every order. (But I hot confirmation, that they Sent every Order) But I guess it depends on which item. It appears that Galeria does not like to send exclusives out for that prices in greater quantity but with "usual" Lego stuff it seems ok. For the record, i have been banned last year during the 40%glitch when I went a little bit Tabbyboy-style. Out of 36 orders, they delivered only 4 orders. Sometimes you win, sometimes you loose.

I can confirm what others have said about a coming glut of these. I just saw an end-cap display full at my Walmart.... maybe 60 or 100 in the display? It was a cardboard "Star Wars" display case, prestocked with these polybags... the kind that is probably shipped out to every Walmart. I bought one for my son to build. That's it.

FYI: In Germany there is a non-official band for all QFLL folks, called "Die Flippers". While "die" in German simply means "the", the band name might as well be read in English (adding a comma in the middle) and still make sense... Two of their records were QFLL-appropriately called "Kein Weg zu weit" ("No way too far") and "Sayonara".

I grabbed 2x 42039 24 Hours Race Car sets for $183 shipped. Could be used for any other number of sets though. I'm sorry but I'm going to have to disagree with you there. Having built this set and being a huge SW fan I found this set hugely appealing !!! The attention to detail in relation to the film is great and it is one of my favourite builds of late. Yes it can be classed as a 'play set' however I still think it is a great display piece, and it always gets the most positive comments when I show people my display collection. Personally I think this will do just fine.

Probably cafe corner with a UCS sticker on it considering the death star experience.

I did it last year with all new pieces for $800. There really aren't that many rare pieces, but like you said, it's the shear volume of 6000 pieces. With it being almost all white, I didn't want mine to look like crap so I went with new. I have not yet procured instructions either, that's another $100+. I purchased quite a bit from LEGO Shop at Home since they have the quantities you need in many of the pieces. The yellow technic ell goes in and out of stock, don't give up on it if it's gone for the time being, and don't pay the crazy bricklink prices. Definitely price out different pieces at the different sites. Some are cheaper on Bricklink, and vice versa. Now that Bricks and Pieces on LEGO Shop at Home shows pricing up front, that will save you some time since you used to have to wait for their invoice to see what the parts cost.
