I had a feeling this would happen and had extra stock. About 6 months ago my girlfriend bought me a set online (can't recall which one) but a freebie was on the order and we did not receive it. Being the smart girl she is she called in and they said sorry we don't have anymore. Long story short she said he's a big Star Wars fan what can you send instead. 3 days later 2 of these show up. I'm like how the hell did they send you these?! They were only available for a week like 2 years ago...

How times is Lego going to slap it's AFOL/investors around this year?! I can't take much more..I'm weak and faint easily...

Catch me!

They usually do , those TC14's that have shown up in LL of recent actually have been around for a few years in sealed cases.   Saw them about a year ago , almost had a deal worked out for them and it fell through.  Year later they wind up in the LL Park as GWP

I don't think it will have significant impact, at least not as bad as you guys expect. It's only 1-day. In store they'll probably limit to 1 per customer. Online you'll have to either pay shipping or buy a larger SW sets at original price. Don't see it being massively hoarded during the day. Now if this guy keep coming back from time to time it will be a different story.

Don't even joke about that. We don't need to give them more ideas.

No worries... I believe they did some research already. So it will only be a matter of time.

I wish they would have put the same energy in combatting certain cloners. But nothing. They can continue their devious business. While us collectors, resellers and investors always honoured and tried to protect Lego's good name by avoiding knock-offs and bringing them to the attention of Lego.

Getting more angry and disappointed by the minute.

Holy -.... They really couldn't think of any new characters for a polybag??? This is really bad.

It's only a matter of time before we get massive amounts of re-releases of older CMFs and polybags.

I guess the lesson here is: don't be greedy and take your profits fast.

In retrospect, this all makes sense to me.  The whole reason Revan was worth alot was that fewer of them were on the market than the usual SW poly, and that he's not featured in other sets.

Well did they intentionally make less? Or was it just that folks didn't have enough time to get him?

If the latter,  then we can guess these have been sitting in a warehouse for a long time collecting dust.

I'll bet the printed date codes on the package will prove that out.

Don't they usually dump the leftover stock at Toys R Us or something? They did that with the First Order General Polybag and red-arm C-3PO.

Their promotional polys show up everywhere and anywhere.  It shouldn't surprise us. Why not through their own store.  It just means they figured out this one could help them move force Friday merchandise.

And fan boys that missed out will be praising them to the rooftops.

This is not unprecedented. The vw poly made a comeback after being gone for a while. Last fall a free one was added if you bought it's big brother.

If it's only a one day promo it's value won't get killed, maybe drop to 20-25 and get back to 40 in a year.

Maybe it's only a one day promo this time, but what stops them from releasing it again every other year? I'm not saying that is what's going to happen, but it's certainly possible.

Quantity made back in 2014 will limit them.  I don't think they reproduced it.  They're just flushing stock sorting around collecting dust.  We'll know for sure when we see the date stamps on the 30th.
