Damn, didn't mean to start a war on here.  Everyone needs to chill and be nicer to each other.  Waiting for the fist person to tell me to F off ;)

You people are getting Freedom of Speech wrong.  Being right or wrong doesn't negate your right to speak, no more than porn or religion can be used as a reason to deny it.  If you have never seen it then you really owe it to yourself to watch a 1981 movie called First Monday In October, starring Walter Matthau And Jill Clayburgh.  They are both Supreme Court Justices, one right wing, one left, arguing about porn.  As Matthau's character states "So its crap. What if it is crap? That's not the point. Crap's got the right to be crap."  So many people want to ban speech just because they feel that it is crap.

I'll quote Picard here:

As long as laws are absolute there can never be justice

I like Mathieu's point that the law can't be a straight jacket...it needs to be able to be worn like a suit, loose enough to move or walk in.

Calling out a private company for moderating content is not a free speech issue. Joe Rogan's rights to his show and what he says on the show extend no further than the agreement he's signed with Spotify, and I can assure you that they have very clear guidelines about what they consider acceptable speech and behavior on their platform and will allow, as would any publisher or platform--that's the company's right. If canceled on Spotify, Rogan can continue to shout what he wants on the street corner, sign on to a new platform, etc. Thus, there would be no free speech violation if Spotify elected to terminate his contract over something he said, nor would it be a free speech violation if a private employer fired you over something you said.

To be clear. Young wasn't just coming out of left field here--he was backing the open letter signed by over 200 health professionals asking for Spotify to moderate the content that they allow on their platform.

Not really.  Spotify ain't new, it's been around for over 15 years.  I'm 61 and listen to Spotify on occasion.  I know that it's a meme but, seriously, young people think getting old is a totally different reality from their youth.  I know that I used to think that.  That is, until you wake up and, instead of listening to Price, Tom Petty or Meat Loaf, you are suddenly mourning them.  And you realize that life is like a river.  You don't live it in chapters but in one, big flow.

Funny thing concerning aging: Last Christmas, I was torn on what to buy my 83 year old father.  He loves music but I thought that he would never wear ear plug style headphones.  Still, I went ahead and bought him a set of Airpods.  Best gift that I've ever got him!  Maybe 80 isn't so old after all.

shipped a working battery operated rival nerf gun on ebay... seller waits a month and now wants to return saying it does not work... after a month?  really??>!!!

Our 7-month old was sent home from daycare yesterday due to COVID exposure in her classroom. One of the other babies had it. This morning, the three of us had to get tested for COVID and we're just awaiting the test results now. Fingers crossed!

Unfortunately, we're essentially quarantined until next Friday. It sure as heck throws a wrench into my wife's teaching and my new job this week.

Oh, her two lower teeth came in so she's teething and gnawing on everything. Talk about a change in habit!

my sister is a preschool teacher...the daycare schools are put thru the ringer w/ so many super strict and ever changing regulations...and ofcourse parents perception and perspective are the full extremes...seems like every two week regulations or policies change...and each class has to handle highly fluxuating attendance because of it.  ...and if a teacher gets a positive seems like half the school shuts down

My Jan sales are 40% higher than Dec 21. Mainly driven by 2 dudes who bought more than 10 sets each. Maybe they got a big bonus.

Received a smashed to hell set return from an order in October.  I hate people.  Still sealed at least.

My complaint is the way he died. Something so simple and mundane. It sucks that he just died by such a random accident.

A basilar skull fracture is what killed Dale Earnhardt.  Sure, he was involved in a dangerous sport but the wreck he was in was so mild (relatively) that it shocked everyone that later heard that it killed him.

Yes, compared to others before it, definitely shocking.
