I would put the $150 into something else. As you said, a lot of people have this set hoarded away as it was available for a really long time. It is a fantastic set though, but I wouldn't buy any for investment purposes at this point unless you can find them for around $100.

Sets like these are worth investing only at retail or below. Especially for MMV. I think it wil ltake about 1,5 years for this set to pick up and go 1,5x retail consistently.

Chess set is way better if u need minifigs. Not sure what ur moc is, mm is nice if ur doing a quick village scene but I personally don't like using Lego sets in mocs.

Well I am just starting to build my MOC collection got like 2x Helm's Deep 2x uruk-hai Army 2x Orc Forge for MOCing purposes (parts) and now I need some colored pieces I guess

I could also use some regular troops since I mostly only have Uruks/Rohan soldiers for now and some random CMF figs
