A type of bookmarking site by LEGO for fans to help in sharing designs with some ease will be getting an upgrade in function, look, and taking part in new contests. This re-launch of ReBrick is planned for March 1st.

  3. I had the pleasure of visiting Brick by Brick, a new LEGO exhibit by Adam Reed Tucker (The artist who started the LEGO Architecture series). Adam is most famous for his architectural models of Skyscrapers, so this show is a bit different as it covers a wider range of themes including Architecture, Engineering, History, Disney, and Rollercoasters. There is something for everyone at this show! I visited the exhibit at MSI Chicago in June, while attending Brickworld Chicago 2016.I wanted to share a few highlights from the show to highlight the diversity of the exhibit...Golden Gate Bridge, 1937, San Francisco, CAThe most striking model in the show is the massive model of…

Not sure if anyone ever posted photos of this or not. It traveled from Legoland Florida to the 40th Anniversary of the Mustang Club of America Event in Indianapolis this weekend. Event is at the 500 Motor Speedway. Hundreds of Mustangs from all over! There is a contest to give # of bricks used to build the Mustang. Wow!! It is awesome!! Enjoy!

  6. Do you think a set will ever surpass 10189 Taj Mahal in piece count? It currently sits at the top with 5,922 pieces. Essentially the question is; will Lego ever make a 6,000+ piece set, and if so, what do you think that set will be?

Brickpickers, I am working on a project and would like to know the sizes of some Star Wars UCS sets that I don't have. A lot of the information online doesn't agree. If anyone has these built and can measure them, I would appreciate it. 10134 Y-Wing length and width 10227 B-Wing height and width 10019 Blockade Runner length and width

This is somewhat old, but recently it has been in the news again due to the upcoming orbital insertion of the Juno spacecraft around Jupiter. I thought it was neat, so decided to share this. The Juno spacecraft is due to start orbital insertion manoeuvres tomorrow. Once in orbit, it will begin sending data back to earth, hopefully revealing much about the atmosphere and magnetic field of the planet. It will be the closest a spacecraft has ever been to the planet. The Juno spacecraft is carrying three Aluminium figures. The specially-constructed LEGO Minifigures are of the Roman god Jupiter, his wife Juno, and "father of science" Galileo Galilei. The i…

  13. http://brickset.com/article/22334 Interesting to mention his general disappointment in the recent LEGO releases. "The passion I once got seeing new set images is no longer there, whilst this year I have been very critical of a lot of products released by LEGO. This is why I felt it was in the best interest to find new owners who are bigger LEGO fans then me, to take over and inject fresh blood and passion into the site."

There is a new website called New Elementary that goes in-depth about what new elements Lego is releasing and which sets they can be found in. I found out about the site way of Brickset in this news post.

I was wondering what was the first set you gals and guys owned? When did it start? For me, as far as I can remember, it was 6363 Auto Repair Shop, set made in 1980. I was 3 that year plus I wouldn't remember anything so it had to be couple years later. no, no helicopter, but yes, stickers Plus I bought it again few years ago On eBay, but later again, I sold it lol

  16. I was thinking about this and I would love to see Star Trek UCS starships. The potential for many different ship sets would be numerous. What do you think?

  17. So I preface this story with – part of me hopes it really was a scam, and all that happened was I was saved a massive headache. However, most of me believes this is true, which then becomes one of the biggest “one that got away” stories in a long time. So, I see a Craigslist post this weekend – two big LEGO sets - $800. I check it out and BAM! 10179 and 10030 being sold as together for $800. Immediately I think this must be a scam. NIB together for $800? No way. How about $4000+. So, not one to miss out on a chance at greatness in a box or some good detective work I send a reply that I’m interested, pay cash, etc… to the Craigslist email account. I get …

  19. I had the pleasure to see the exhibit in New York two years ago, and to preview the brand new Seattle exhibit on Thursday night. It is a fantastic show, and the Pacific Science Center has used a large exhibition space for the show, allowing ample space to walk around the 3D art pieces and see them from multiple perspectives. The show opens this Saturday, 5/28 and will remain in Seattle through September 11th.The gallery begins with LEGO re-creations of famous paintings and sculpture. One of my favorites was “The Great Wave off Kanagawa”I have prepared a preview and gallery of the Seattle exhibit at my website. The article includes photos of about 1/3 of the art on di…

  22. I'm working on an article that explores how to better understand and apply the concepts of "scale" to create better LEGO models. This raises a pretty fundamental question which I do not feel has been adequately answered within the LEGO community - what is the "scale" for the common LEGO figures we use in our models. Minifig / Minidoll Naturally, we want to start with the classic "minifigure", as well as the newer "minidoll" which has similar width and height. I calculated a value of 1:42 for the classic minifigure, and a value of 1:38 for the Minidoll. The minidoll has fairly realistic proportions, so I feel pretty good about that value. What do you think …

  23. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/2016/05/03/ben-fogle-modern-lego-is-harming-childrens-development/ Isn't the Daily Telegraph one of those less than quality newspapers? Either way, this tool, err.. TV Presenter and Adventurer.. says that modern day LEGO kits are hurting child development because they don't offer the same creative outlet LEGO once did! Someone needs to direct this man to Bricklink and have him order some bulk bricks so his kid can "be creative."

  24. Hey, BPers! In addition to being a fellow investor and Lego-Dad, I'm a filmmaker, and I just completed a mash-up of The Lego Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy. The two films are virtually identical story-wise, so I edited footage from both into a single video, cutting back and forth seamlessly. I'm very proud of the way it turned out, and I think you guys in particular will enjoy it. Thanks for watching! John EDIT: Apparently I have no idea how to embed. Thanks to TheGallows for posting a link.

  25. Ok this question is for those of you who HAVE stored or are storing sets in outdoor mini storage buildings. I need to store my sets about 4 shelves worth. in a mini storage building temporarily for an up coming house move. Some sets are packed in boxes per @emazers suggestion, some are in lego shipping boxes and some are just stored on the shelf. Since I'll be storing during the summertime I have a concern about heat. (not humidity). I'm in the South East and the hottest part of our summer kicks in around July/August time. I'm pretty sure I won't be in the new house by July. Anyone with experience with this let me know.
