Hey guys/gals, I love love love the Star Wars planet sets. I love them so much I want to build some custom high quality acrylic displays. What I have in mind would allow you to display the LEGO set, the planet hanging properly, the box, and the coolest part is the instruction manual. These would be both stackable and/or hangable. These would also be built perfectly to display almost all battle packs or small sets in a similar manor. I have submitted my design to a couple of manufacturers and am curious if anyone else might be interested in something like this? So my question to the community is would you be interested in a "LEGO specific display" and if so how m…

Easily the most influential part of my childhood was this book. It was a fun adventure of a couple told through the universal language of still frames sometimes having a few semi "how to" builds strewn about and two sticker sheets added for good measure. There was a little theme mixing but nothing really. I mean nowhere near The LEGO Movie levels. Haha. Well anyway turns out Jangbricks had a recent nostalgia trip for a video so anyone wanting to relieve some memories or just curious to see page by page what it was then watch this.

  9. Did any of you catch the premier of The Yoda Chronicles on Cartoon Network? I haven't watched a show on that network (besides Adventure Time) in years. It was pretty good. There was a lot of blatant gag humor, which was basically for children. But there was some adult humor as well. For example, there was a running General Grievous coughing joke, which eventually involved an injury to his... well you know. It's definitely going to make kids want the Lego Star Wars sets!

Sorry if this has brought up before. I am wondering what is the best box for lego. Looking for one that has dividers for smaller pieces. Not just one big compartment. Any advice would be wonderful.

Is this common, or has this happened to others? About a year ago I purchased the Darth Vader Meditation Chamber lego set on clearance at Walmart. It was sealed - definitely. I finally got around to opening it last night for a build and lo-and-behold I don’t know what the heck was inside. First of all, no instructions. Then, a lot of the bags were not Star Wars related, and the pieces in the bags looked old, dented, scratched, etc. It looks like someone just threw some random bags in there. I confirmed it was sealed - unless some hacks have figured out a way to reseal a box and make it look like it was never opened to swap out bags and pieces?

  14. When I walk around the house I enjoy taking in the Lego sets that I have on display. It's a pretty minimal amount if a person was to ask me compared to all the crafty stuff my wife gets to put up all over the house, but I take what I can get. I get one space in the dining room on top of a china cabinet that I get to myself. I've chosen the 4504 Millenium Falcon, 7166 Imperial Shuttle, and the Z 95 Headhunter. I just took down the Grand Emporium in favor of representing Star Wars. I also have a built in bookshelf in the den that has a variety of Lego odds and ends. Mostly CMF's and Lego original material boxes for my son to beat up and toss around. On the top of tha…

This is just a little tid bit of info for how I will be trying to keep my inventory organized. A lot of you have a closet or tucked away place where you store your sets out of carboard boxes. While this is great to see it's not so great for little prying eyes. Of which I have two sets to contend with. The storage closet where I keep my sets is locked most of the time, but it also has bikes and other outdoor toys in it for my boys. Just about all of the sets in this closet are in carboard boxes of varies sizes. Enough of the back story. I have created a pdf Label template to put on the outside of my cardboard boxes to help me keep track of whats inside ea…

Anyone actually take the time to do the online survey that is on the Target, Toysrus, and other retailers' receipt? Has anyone win the price it said on the survey? I tried a few times and just gave up on them.

I'm sure many of you have kids and have bought a half metric buttload of duplo for them. I just started my 18mo with his first of many sets. When he gets old enough, I plan on trying to maximize resale value of these if possible and then reinvest into sets he wants when he's old enough. So for those of you that have reselling experience with duplo, is it worth it to keep the box/manual or no? I've noticed that the manuals don't generally have the part listing, and they're located on the box but I'm sure you can verify the parts online. I don't see there being a big AFOL following for non-themed duplo.

  22. Hey, BPers! In addition to being a fellow investor and Lego-Dad, I'm a filmmaker, and I just completed a mash-up of The Lego Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy. The two films are virtually identical story-wise, so I edited footage from both into a single video, cutting back and forth seamlessly. I'm very proud of the way it turned out, and I think you guys in particular will enjoy it. Thanks for watching! John EDIT: Apparently I have no idea how to embed. Thanks to TheGallows for posting a link.
