Hey, I scored a Santa Fe 10025 at a garage sale and gave it a gentle bath. When rebuilding I noticed this weird pattern on the shiny horizontal stripe bricks. No way this could be human damage with the pattern almost identical on each brick. No way I causes this, did I???

Was it a very limited release in 2004? I can't find too much info on it.

I purchased 7896 new about a year and a half ago for $14.39 (it's the straight and curved rails track set). These sets are going for $50 or more (if you can find them). Of all my sets, the 7896 has the highest appreciation in value (over 200%). For train tracks.....whoda thunk it? Plus Lego has discontinued them. Why I don't know. Now they have straight track and flexible track packaged together (7499). Flexible track is nice but I'd rather have curved sections. What is Lego's thinking regarding the RC train track? In order for the trains to be appealing there has to be the ability to expand beyond the basic oval or circle they provide with one of their se…

I am still fairly new to LEGO. Two years now. I don't know much about the history. Is it likely that LEGO will release new monorail sets? With new or old track, doesn't matter. I know they restructured years ago and got a better focus but I am not sure if that involved dissolving certain implementations .

  6. I haven't bought a lego train set yet so I don't know the radius, will my table be big enough for it and a bunch of modular buildings? Thanks.

  8. Can I have some comment on this Ghost Train 9467? Do you think it will do well as one of a train? I'm considering buying the lone ranger 79111 Constitution Train Chase. Should I also buy the ghost or lone ranger train? Or both?

The ones in your collection, not for re-sale. =P My Rolling Stock 1 X Red Cargo Train 3677 1 X Passenger Train 7938 1.75 X Maersk Train 10219 (1 Engine + 4 Flatbed Cars) 1.5 X Emerald Night (1 Engine + 2 Passenger Coaches) "Kinda Rolling Stock" 1 X Public Transport Tram 8404 (need to mod this so it becomes one long tram instead of 2 short ones) 2013 Planned Additions 1 X Public Transport Tram (extending the length of the other one) 2 X Emerald Night Passenger Coaches 1 X 7939 Cargo Train (Might not keep all the coaches since it's just the locomotive + octan cars that interest me). 2 X Middle coaches for my 7938 I really wish Lego sold all these separa…

  11. Last May, I purchased an incomplete 10132 Motorized Hogwarts set for $50. After all this time, I finally had a chance to open the ziplocks. It contained 95% of the locomotive, 85% of the tender, and 100% of the passenger train. 2 straight tracks, and the 9v engine. Some of the 2-story train station elements are also there. Then I noticed some unfamiliar elements. It had many extra red, dark gray, light gray, black transparent windows, black elements, 1 mini-fig with a red scarf, and two 16x32 light gray colors. There were also some smaller tools, chrome elements, doors, etc... I did some research and discovered the non-10132 elements are from the lesser know but …

The official 9V crossroad track piece sits at around $20 each at the moment - I wish I had a bunch! No sign of a PF track version either... My 4yr old Thomas the Tank Engine fanatic is quite insistent that the LEGO trains be able to crash together properly, so I built a crossroad from more common parts: http://www.flickr.com/photos/41066434@N08/8582940504/in/photostream Hopefully this method will be helpful to someone else out there!

  13. Just like the title says. I have one that runs for about a minute but slows then stops completely. I know the seller I got the lot from washed everything including the track and motor so I am assuming its just cooked. I took it apart and there is a unique motor in there that looks like it would be impossible to find. Anyone repaired one? Thanks in advance!

  14. I tried looking for a thread to place this in but couldn't find an appropriate one. So if the mods know of a better thread for this, please relocate it. I don't know anything about Fx Bricks, I just thought this might be useful for those with 9V LEGO train systems. I came across a video for Fx Bricks re-producing LEGO's 9V metal train track (100% LEGO compatible) that just began March 1, 2021. They mention LEGO in their advertising and website quite extensively. Technically this falls into a knock-off brand but they are producing something that LEGO discontinued many years ago and they look to be adding to the options for 9V track that LEGO never produced (includ…

I assume that trains with power functions included in the box are better investments, but has anyone done a study or a blog about ones that retired in the past to prove this? I need to know whether to pursue the Horizon Express.

So I'm currently redoing an aerial tramway I made. The only thing that is made of lego are the cable cars. I built the power function from things I got at radioshack and hardware stores but I want to make the stations out of lego now. I have the older speed control from 4560 Railway Express. Can the new motors such as the Power Functions XL-Motor work on the older devices or are the connector pieces entirely different now?

Folks, I bought a partial used 9v train set...looks like most of it is there--but no directions. I made a quick track circuit and put the base engine (with metal wheels) on...turned on the juice...but no motion. Light turns green on power pack. Anybody know what usually goes wrong with these--or what to check? I was just going to make sure the stuff worked--then list as partial kit used on eBay. Came as part of a lot I bought...wasn't too interested....but for 50 bucks...thought I wouldn't lose and lady really wanted me to buy everything.

Holy smokes... so I found my Santa Fe engine that I had stored in a box but I'm missing a few pieces: 2 light grey bars, 1 3x3 light grey round corner, and 1 9v light grey decorative side. The one hole in the red base plate cracked as I had the 9v motor attached to it and was on its side the whole time and two of the grey 2x3 curve tops are scratched. So I want to replace those 3 pieces. Anyway, bricklinking them is gonna cost me 40 dollars! Should I even bother getting these pieces or should i just sell it as is on ebay?

Hi everyone, Does anyone has an idea of the value of the rare train set "65537-1: Classic Freight Train"? The only information that I found is here were the price is around 185$ and on bricklink (just one set) http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPriceGuide.asp?S=65537-1 were the value is around 2600 EUR. I know it is a really rare set but how to put a value on it. The set is NISB because there is a little wearing on the box. Can somebody help with this. Thanks, Anthony

Hey guys, while checking out TRU, I noticed they had the 10507 - DUPLO My First Trian Set marked at half off TRU prices in store. Checking their website, they have it listed as out of stock, and I notice that none of the other big player retailers have the set in stock/listed on their website. It still is listed as Avail now on SHOPLEGO, but I have a strong feeling this set is heading for a very quick retirement. It's shocking because the previous incarnation of this set was out for 4-5 years, and this one came out in Aug 2013. So either there may have been a mistake with the set itsellf, or DUPLO may be replacing it or possibly even moving away from …
