Introduce Yourself & New Member FAQs

If you new to BrickPicker.com, come in here and say hello! Also, since you are new, come here to ask your questions about the site.

  1. Hey just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. 21 year old student, me and the rest of my family have been collecting and building lego for years. However going into my senior year of a double major I need to liquidate some of my collection. I posted onto reddit a couple hours ago and lots of people showed interest. I have nearly 100 sets. (More considering I probably have lost some of the instructions over the years, and some model numbers that aren't even available on this site!) Heres the link to the reddit post. http://www.reddit.com/r/lego/comments/yz6jk/organizing_and_selling_some_legos_to_help_pay_for/ Some pictures. http://imgur.com/a/HOSQj If yo…

Well I have to say this is by far one of the coolest LEGO sites that I have come across and can't believe I don't see more of it on the other sites. Some really great information and much more interesting than some of the of the other sites out there. Basically I now visit this site, Brickset and Rebrickable. Anyhow, looking forward to spending time on the site, thanks to those that created it.

Hello Lego fans! ! My name is Victor, I'm 30 years old and I'm from Spain (sorry for my English ;-) I'm a collector of Star Wars sets because I consider myself a great SW fan and a LEGO lover... so when it came out in 1999, I started buying (although my first set was 16th-birthday gift, anakin's podracer 7131). Since then, I have been looking for new ones and buying them as I was be able (as I'm used to say, everyone has his own story). I don't have many, only 91 sets, because of three main reasons: - First at all, money, of course. I get my first paid job at 25 yo (I was studying...). Now I got a job, I'm a doctor, and I have some money but, - Second, let's call my "…

Hi, I loved lego as a kid and have got back into it recently pulling out all my old stuff to play with my 4 year old. I'm thinking of buying a new set, perhaps Tower Bridge. I intend to keep it in very good condition - boxes etc but also intend to build them. I'm further attracted by the investment potential - it's a way to convince the wife

Hi, I played with Lego when I was a kid but gave it all away once I started middle school. I always loved Lego and occasionally would buy some for my nieces and nephew. With the recent release of the Super Hero Lego, I got back in. People at work think I

Hi all, My name is Matt. I've been a toy collector since '97ish as an adult. I've gone through everything from Star Wars action figs, McFarlane football, Palisade's Muppets line, WWE Classic figures, to Pixar Cars diecasts. I've been enjoying collecting with my kids' for almost 10 years and they've always been LEGO fans. However, due to life changes, I'm eager to get back into collecting and using my "buy low sell high" skills to get some secondary income. My kids collected sets for years, but most of them have been reduced to being thrown in the "plastic bins of seclusion" as individual pieces. They continue to pull set build guides from time to time and recon…

My job sends me across the pond to the UK to work with some companies we purchased a little while back. Its always fun to see how things are done in different countries. Well, luckily this year I got come over during the Olympics and got to see some of the excitement it has brought to the city. I am especially lucky that I was able to come here and finally experience Argos for the first time and grabbed a bunch of Olympic Minifigs for me and Ed. Hopefully I got enough that will allow us to get two full sets or I may have to request to comeback and finish some "work" here

Although I've been a member on Brickpicker for several months now, I haven't formally introduced myself yet. Originally my screen name was buckshot333, but I changed it recently to coincide with my Bricklink screen name. I have a Bricklink store called Brickly Perfection that I plan to sell my Lego investments out of. There's nothing for sale on there yet, but down the road I hope there will be a variety of sets for sale. I've just recently started acquiring Lego sets for investment. My favorite theme has always been the Castle themed sets. Over the last year I've acquired a number of the Kingdoms sets, and now I'm starting on LOTR! I'm excited to be a member on…

Well, I'm purpleparadox. Ya might know me from Eurobricks... Anyway, I'm from Canada and, like most of you, am a bit of a Lego addict. I'm a male who happens to like the colour purple. No, that's not crazy! I also love music (playing it, listening to it, composing it) and I'm into reading and writing as well. And I like movies and comics. I mostly collect Licensed themes. My favourites are Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and Superheroes. When I do occasionally buy a non-licensed set, I convert the figs into fleshies. I apologize in advance for how many times I'll end up mentioning my love for fleshies. I tend to talk about that a lot. (Hmm... I don't see any e…

Just stumbled upon this site and have been pouring over it for the past hour... good stuff. Have been buying and selling Lego for a few years now...ebay...bricklink...markets...classifieds...friends... family = you name it I've had a try. I've been collecting since I was 7, which causes me the eternal dilema - to buy for me or to buy to sell to buy more for ME Recently started my own blog -Switch Bricks as a means to record my LEGO adventures and count down to my upcoming venture in January 2013... a "pop up play and display centre" for kids in my community based on you guessed it - LEGO Looking to expand my LEGO networks and am amazed at the talent of so many out the…

Hello! I just heard about LEGO investing from a friend and I have decided to throw my hat into the arena. In the last week or two, I have purchased a few sets: 10197 - Fire Brigade x 2 (got at a discount on them) 9476 - The Orc Forge x 1 (I think mistakenly put on sale at Target near me) 5635 - Big City Zoo x 2 (I actually had these in my attic... no clue where I got them) 4526 - Batman x 4 (These were cheap and I figured people would want them since TDKR comes out tonight) 10217 - Diagon Alley x 1 (I got it for slightly cheaper than retail - I am looking for more of these at reasonable prices as I see it being a good investment). Nice to meet you all and …

First if all thanks for such a great site. I have my boys (ages 4 and 6) to thank for getting me into Lego a few years back. It's an addicting hobby as we all know! I've decided to start a little investment project and found this forum from "The Brickshow". The hard part is wanting to build every set I purchase. I guess I have to resort to buying two or more of everything for now on, huh? Can't wait to absorb as much info as I can. Thanks again for this site and all the work that goes into it. --Brandon

Hi guys, I'm from England, only just stumbled upon this community when looking at collector's edition millenium falcon models! It's a fantastic idea, so I'm going to give it a go; it might be more reliable than trusting the banks! Any tips for a noob would be appreciated; which lines are usually safe investments (I would have guessed the branded lines, please correct me if I'm wrong before I end up with a house full of it!), when and where to buy, etc. Thanks!!

Hello All! I love the site! An AFoL here, My wife and I have been collecting for about a year and half. We ran across a LEGO store on our honeymoon with a display of the Medieval Market Village and we were hooked. This site looks like a great way to keep track of our unopened LEGO sets.

Glad to have found this site! I've been an unintentional lego investor over the years. I bought all the space sets back in 2004 along with a bunch of technics sets. I only built the Mars Rover & Space Shuttle before I had to make a sudden move. Everything else has been sitting around, unopened, in storage for the past few years. I found this site when I was checking out what the Lunar Lander was worth before opening it. Based on the average sales price I think I'll put it back in storage and let it hang out for a while. The articles are great and the features are awesome. My fiancee will kill me but I have the Tower Bridge and a few other sets on there way eve…
