I have been reading forums hourly for about 2 months now. Usually just like to read but thought it was time to have first post. I am AFOL that has been just collecting and building with my kids. I recently started Amazon FBA business and it has really taken off. I actually started with it when I saw my Queen Anne Revenge ship was selling for $250 used. I sold that to fund my business and it took off from there. This Post could probably be started in several threads but I recently starting getting into lego investment as now I have some extra income. I must have had a good idea of good sets through the years because my three sets I have displayed are both ships from POTC a…

Hello guys! One of the rarer fellas from asia over here, Singapore specifically. Been collecting lego on and off for many years, but sadly missed out on some awesome UCS and modular sets of the previous few years. Interested in Hobbit/LoTR/UCS and some modulars. Looking forward to hangout here more! By the way, what are your thoughts on ToO and Red5?

Hey all, I'm new to BP, not new to LEGO but it's been a while. I'm really glad I found this community, it's really great and some of the members are extremely knowledgeable. I'm 28, a software engineer by trade (now my 9-5). I've got a lot of time on my hands so I write little tools, websites, apps and stuff on the side. I was recently re-introduced by my kid brother (who I originally gave my LEGO) and saw a bunch of great stuff going on in the LEGO world: 1) super nice community 2) LEGO ideas where you can actually make your dreams come alive for others 3) Alternative vehicle for investing (what I'd deem the 30% risky part of a portfolio) 4) Investing in a pass-time tha…

Well my 5 year old son has finally discovered real Lego and is no longer interested in Duplo. I think the bug has affected me more than it has him. Lego was my favorite toy growing up, and right about now I am kicking myself for letting my parents get rid of over 100 pounds of Lego about twenty years ago. The investment thing is tough. With a 5 year old I would probably have to buy one to build of everything I buy to invest. I also have little to no extra space in my home for storage. Today I bought a DS, but I bought it to build. I am so tempted to go to the store and pick up another one as an investment, but I'm uncertain if buying a $400 set that has had plenty of time…

New picker here, having a blast so far. 80's kid with disposable income, LEGO as an investment make sense i guess. Got Ecto-1 as a Xmas gift from my awesome girlfriend and that sparked my interest in LEGO's again, a childhood passion reborn. Looking mostly to hold on to sets long term. See you guys around the forums!

Hello all, This year I got back into LEGO. For quite some time I had my eyes on the modular buildings. My main intention is to collect these and also to create modular MOCs. After purchasing several minifigures from different CMF series I started aquiring some modulars. My first big purchase was the Town Hall set 10224. The price was quite steep at around 330€ as prices can rise easily above RRP after EOL. That's why I'm now trying to avoid missing out on sets, especially exclusives, that I might want to build or use in the future. In the end I guess it's better to end up with some spare sets I can resell in case I don't need them. Thanks for reading this.

What a fabulous site! I'm a collector (all my life), and a minor investor. I am enormously impressed with the helpful and outgoing community you have here. I have much to learn, but you folks have taught me a good amount already. My kids are flush with clearance Target Lego Movie kits thanks to you guys. Now if I could only rewind the clock and pick up these Modular buildings 5 years ago when I first started eyeing them up...

Just wanted to say hello, and say a bit about myself. I got back into Lego about a year ago by trying to get my daughter to play with something other than My Little Pony. So it start with her and Friends sets. I then discovered Bricklink and the Lego Investing Facebook page, and saw dollar signs. So I bought anything I considered a good deal and began my Bricklink adventure. I'm currently loosing the inner battle of selling vs collecting. I've started collecting Star Wars and Technic stuff along with Bricklinking a few retired sets and some sets from my childhood. I still have by Bricklink store and it is still growing just at a snails pace and my PC is building only sl…

Hi all, been registered and lurking for a while now and find some of the sites tools extremely helpful, especially the Brickfolio function which has been a godsend the last few weeks for various reasons. I've been involved in this now since about the time the last wave of Harry Potter sets came out ( seems a lifetime ago ) and look forward to giving a bit back to the community if and when I can. Bye for now

Hi, I'm new to this site and have recently come out of the dark ages ( I just learned this term a few weeks ago and love it!! ). I have found tons of great material and banter here and wanted to say Hi and I'm also wondering if there is a thread devoted to sorting and storing pieces and different ways/ containers for doing that?

hello fellow brick lovers. I'm new(ish) to the site (been browsing the forums whilst waiting for membership approval) And Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I hail from across the pond In the UK and been a Lego fan since I was young. Only just started collecting though and feel slightly.... quite a bit...Ok, totally devastated that I've missed such gems like the falcon and super star destroyer Which was released before I started collecting. One day they'll be mine. Anyway... Hello again And I look forward to speaking with you all.

Hello, this is my first post here. I would like to know where i can buy lego parts, my main concern is to buy from a safe site where i can pay with credit card. I believe Bricklink and ebay are some of the main option, i would appreciate if someone can confirm this and maybe more suggestions (maybe a link to a list of safe sellers ?) ty

Hey everyone! I guess here is the place to introduce myself! My name is Nick, and I'm a Canadian university student. I've actually come to this site and forum because I'm in a bit of a predicament. I actually have a set I'm trying to sell, but I have zero selling experience and reputation. I have a NISB 10189 Taj Mahal that has been sitting in my basement since 2010 when I purchased it. I bought it to build it, not as an investment, but life got in the way on numerous occasions throughout the years and I never got around to building it. Now I'm a student who is in need of cash so I can buy a vehicle, and I have discovered that my set is actually quite valuable. I would li…

Hi all, Thought I'd stop by an introduce myself as a sumbled across your site when trying to find out more about lego, as over the past few weeks it appears I have become a wife to a secret lego wanting husband and mother to two lego wanting young girls! So far the girls are happy to just play with whatever I can get cheap! and we did pick them up some lego movie stuff on a recent trip so I think this has got them onto the ideas of sets being available and I'm already seeing first drafts of birthday lists with Elsa, cinderella et al. set's on so I guess we're into disney princess teritory. As for my hubby he's decided now is a god time to get back to h…

I am a long time collector of SW theme (out of my Dark Age in the beginning of 2010, thank you DS!) but haven't been an investor or at least didn't fancy myself that up until now, even if I happened to flip one of the two even then (2011) retired Rogue Shadow sets miraculously found on clearance in a Dutch department store. I sold one of these MISB via Ebay classifieds (before they stopped the program in Europe) for 80% more then purchased, the second one is still in my cellar, but due to repeated move-outs the box suffered some creases (but the seals are still intact). So this was my beginner investor instinct, even if I had no idea it was an already developed busi…

Hi fellow Brickpickers! I just realized I've posted a few things and didn't introduce myself. Compared to some of the other intros I'd read, I'm relatively new to pickin'. I'm just a dad in Ottawa, Canada who has always loved "the game", but never really realized the investment potential in it until the last 6-12 months. To be able to fund my addiction...with my addiction...seemed like a dream come true. I'd like to thank all of you for the valuable information you've already given me and, in time, I hope I can provide equally useful information. Thanks for being so welcoming and I look forward to many years of being part of the club.

Just wanted to intro myself. I've been collecting Star Wars stuff since 1978. Two of my favorite toys growing up were anything Star Wars and Legos. Way back then, there were no themed Legos. At least none that I can remember. Fast forward to today and with Star Wars and Legos having merged together, my focus has mainly been collecting OT ships.

My name is oconnorj2015 and I just signed up for Brick Picker. I was directed to Brick Picker when looking for the new Lego Creator Blue Power Jet set#31039, and seen that you can look at certain sets, and the whole website looked very informing to me. It was a pleasant surprise since I've never yet heard about this website!. I was so impressed when I was first visiting this website, and you are given 3 complimentary set checks so you can try Brick Picker. I liked it and just setup a new account today about less than 25 minutes ago. I love this place so far, and will return as soon as I can!. Thanks, Jeremy

New member here, just wanted to say hello. I love the site so far, there is TONS of information here! From reading my limited posts so far, my scenario seems a bit different from most. My goal is to buy sets as cheap as I can, build them with my son and daughter, then re-sell them used for as close as I can get to the original purchase price. I'm fine paying some money to build a big set, I wouldn't be upset at all paying $10 - $15 for a large set. We'll see how it goes! The first set that I plan on 'flipping' is The Simpsons House. I just picked it up for $160 on Craigslist. I wouldn't say it's a bargain price or anything, but it seems like resale on ebay for a us…
