Hello everybody, Introducing myself : 24 yo engineer from France, big fan of Lego when I was young and never really stoped because my mother sometimes bought me some little sets for fun (75078 the last one) ! I really never imagined that there could be a secondary market for legos and even a month ago told myself "who the **** buys a ~500€ DS for their kids??" And I'm now "why the **** didn't I buy it now that it's EOL ???!" I discovered all this secondary market during the media trend of the "Lego better than gold" 2-3 weeks ago. Might get myself in trouble telling you this ! You'll certainly all be like "****, one more in the game because of the medias !" Don't worr…

  4. Been collecting for a while and just found this site. Great to be able to come here and get a sense of the value of some of my sets. I was wise enough not to open a couple of them, and I am glad I did not, but I am also kicking myself for not buying some of the one's I was eying over the years, like the Hogwarts Express. I am also surprised to find some of the very first sets (like the 7181 Tie Interceptor) are not higher up on the list. At any rate, I just picked up the Sphero BB8 from Force Awakens based on how well some of my Star Wars sets appreciated. I mentioned it to a friend of mine and he said he thought it would be too highly mass produced to be a collectib…

Hello The Brickpickers ! This is to introduce myself as a newcomer. I'm Mineas, 37yo, French and Lego fan since I was 6yo ! I am currently working as Quality management engineer in a farm machines manufacturer in France. For now, I don't have any Lego sets but my son (8yo) has some of Starwars, Ninjago and City sets. His biggest and main set is the Phantom + Ghost ships He is also designing its own LEGO sets (marvellous imagination compared to me) At the moment, I am investigating the LEGO second market trading opportuntiy for 3 main reasons: 1) Making some money by buying kilos of bricks, sort and sell them as a low price second market opportunity…

Hi, I've been building and collecting LEGO since childhood (never sold anything!) when my parents bought me a used collection of mixed 9V/12V trains and tracks. Guess my oldest set is 126 Steam Locomotive Push w/ motor upgrade or 119 Super Train Set, I'll have to dig through my boxes to see which one it was :-) I also have a lot of old space and technic sets. Unfortunately I missed the golden Star Wars era due to time and money constraints. The UCS-models are looking so great! But now (having turned 40) I've decided to start buying sets again, and always in pairs: one to build and one to keep as an investment ;-) Started out with 42009 mobile crane, 42030 Volvo …

Hi All, I'm huge love for Lego but I have selfishly joined to get some valuations on my collection which I am soon to start sorting, rebuilding, boxing up and selling. I have recently got married in Disneyworld Orlando (I'm a Brit) and my wife got Disney bug so wants to go back. So I have decided to give up my collection to return there in a year or so. The saving up starts here! Hello everyone

so, I am french. I am 38 years old, and as many members here, I guess, I am a Lego fan since my childhood. I have got two children and naturally they play with Lego, especially Lego Star Wars for my son, and Lego City and Fabuland for my daughter. Since many years, I buy for my private collection vintage lego from the sixties and seventies. Sometimes in the original box. As I appreciate all the last LEGO design, I am nostalgic of the simplicity of the first age of LEGO with the typical abstraction of details of the begins. My pleasure is also to buy very huge lot of mixed parts and trying to see if I am able to build from it any original s…

Hello everyone! I'm Mark, I'm in my late 20's, I absolutely loved Legos growing up. I recently started drifting back towards them in the recent years, and especially in the last year or so I've gotten the bug again. Being an engineer I love building with my hands, and having experience with injection molding means that I love seeing all the different shaped pieces and how they were designed for the molding process and how the molds were set up. I recently started collecting Lego sets after I discovered all the Winter Village sets. I have gone a bit crazy in the recent month collecting sets and picking up random or less common items that I've come across. In doing all m…

Hi there, I just receive Wall-E as a christmas present, Santa bring it to me (my brother). He told me that it is from a special collection, Ideas, and searching around, internet bring me here. I did not know nothing about this world and I find it interesting. I´ll try save like 50€ every 3 months so I can make my little collection, I don't want to get rich, just save some money to spend it in an other lego. I really love lego and I find this a good way to keep in touch with this world. (Sorry for my writing I don't have the best spelling )

Hi Everyone, My name is Cody, and I stumbled across this site a couple of weeks ago. What a wealth of information; it's fascinating! I'm intrigued by "Lego Investing", and decided I might try this as a a side hobby. It's also an excuse to buy Lego. I loved Lego as a kid, but sort of put it aside in my adult years. I always browsed the stores, but I just couldn't justify spending the money, and finding a place to display it. This all changed over Christmas when I was building Po's X-Wing with my brother...the detail of the mini-figures, the overall look of the ship, and the fact that it was just plain fun. Some kind of mental dam broke, and I was like, "Why not…

Hi Everyone, Just thought I would say hello, and say how impressed I am with this website. I rediscovered Lego again over the last couple of years - The BTTF Time Machine started it off along with Ecto-1......they reignited the big kid in me. I would describe myself as a reborn collector who will dabble in a bit of flipping to help fund the collecting. I began to build the portfolio last week. My current collecting/selling portfolio now consists of 3 x Tumblers - 2 of which will be for immediate sale to fund another purchase. 2 x Ecto - 1 (1 built) 2 x Easter Bunny (not built) 1 x BTTF Time Machine (seal broken, but packs not open…

Hi there, Until now I didn't find the time to introduce myself on this forum. I'll try to keep it short, which won't work. I'm a 38 year old bloke from the Netherlands. Like most of us, I loved playing with Legos when I was a kid. It was my favorite toy by far. Here a little timeline: 1999-2007 In 1999 I started collecting Star Wars Lego and other Lego insofar more or less heavily discounted. Till that time I was a boxed-Dinky Toys collector but my interest for Dinky Toys was running low. My plan was to keep all Legos boxed and to sell them at a profit later on. I was in college then and literally none of my college friends would unde…

Hello fellow brick pickers! I'm new to lego investing and have a question. I bought some sets a while back and have seen the value drop leading up to xmas. Is this a common re-occurring trend that happens this time of year?? Thanks in advance for feedback and have a great new year!!

Hi. Just joined up. And have been loving it so far.(after this I'm gonna read about that new ghostbusters firehouse). I've been a Lego fan for at least 20 years. But done most of my collecting in the past 8. My favorite thing is to buy a Lego collection at a garage sale and try to build as many sets out of it as I can. I usually use peeron to figure it out. Unless it's a tiny set I almost never get all the pieces, but it's really fun for me. But I also " invest". Buying new sets and not opening them.... Well my wife is sick of the Legos. Mostly just the ones in boxes. Has anybody sold a bunch on here. Got any quick tips. is it worth it to wait for next Christm…

Hi all! I found out about this forum on a Lego subreddit. Been lurking reading reading colecting info and trying to locate myself: i'm a fan, an investor, both? I recently returned from the dark age. The vector was the Simpons cmf series 2, available at my local grocery shopping place. After starting collecting those i went to find others collectors in other to trade and buy minifigs. The apparent liquidity of these colections atracted me, i could withdraw money from this with some effort. Why is this important? I came from a background of many years playing Magic the Gathering, an expensive card game where you need to manage the finantial aspect of your card collectio…
