Hi all I'm new to brick picker and new to Lego collecting. I was wondering which sets I should purchase for the Star Wars line

  3. Dropping a quick line to say 'Hi' and to extend to Ed Mack my best wishes for a successful fundraiser. I found out about your plight through TheBrickFan and it tugged on my heartstrings as I know how hard it is for the kiddos (and parents) when faced with such an ordeal (my daughter's former co-op lost their Fed funding last year). My daughers and I adore LEGOs and I consider building & collecting as my mental therapy a well as my personal indulgence (Louis Vuitton purses? Weekly Spa treatments? Nah! I'll just have some modulars, please!) Cheers!

Hey Brickpickers, I've just come out of the dark ages (a rather short one at that) and have rediscovered Lego, become interested in some investing, and also stumbled onto the best online Lego community. Unfortunately I missed out on a lot of recently retired models and all sales and clearances that come with Christmas.. Terrible timing I know.. So my brickfolio is looking sad but I know my direction and am eyeing May 4th for those great SW discounts

Hi all. I am new to Brickpicker... And am a returning Lego fanatic since my childhood. recently got into the Star Wars Lego (big sets) big time and, in the last month have acquired and loved putting together and displaying the UCS Tie-fighter, sand crawler, slave I, star destroyer, millennium falcon, at-at, at-dp, prototype tie-fighter and have kept the ewok village boxed in the hopes the value increases... Can't wait for a new Death Star, especially if it is display and not a play set... Can someone please advise on how Lego announce new sets and what to check to know when new sets are going to be released? thanks in advance!

Hi all, New member here! Just thought I would say hi. I am just getting going with Lego, was crazy about it as a kid and always had a hidden desire as an adult to get back into it and now I have a son so I have the perfect excuse! He is only 2 so I am starting to build a collection so that when he gets to an age where he starts to get interested he will have plenty to play with but also from my point of view I can hopefully build a collection that has a bit of value to it as well. Keen to learn from all of you guys as I go along. Got to dig out my old box full of bricks from my folks place and work out what I still have from the 80's! Rich

Greetings all. I have been buying and selling Lego's since 2007. I have little inventory compared to most of you. I started when I was 12 or 13 when I decided to buy a 7654 Droid battle pack to sale rather than to keep. I am right now a college student and have amassed a collection of Legos that is near 70k, if I decide to sell all my parts on brick link, small time I know. I still keep the Lego set that started it all as a memento. I mainly like to builds sets and part out the one that I don’t like. I favor the clone war Legos for my battle builds because the clone wars is filled with a whole variety of land vehicles and space battles, to my op…

Hi! . I'm new here and new to Lego. I've gotten sets here and there before but just recently got really into it. I've been buying a lot with the after holiday sales going on and stores clearing out some older stock now. And I have a question to ask. How easy and common is it to find sets marked 50% of msrp throughout the year?? I've purchased a decent amount of sets around 45% and 50% off, plus some at 30% (sets that I wanted more and didn't think I would get with a higher discount). I definitely got more than I would for this short period of a few weeks, but my thoughts are that these deals won't be like this throughout the year. Everything I'm getting will be ope…

Hey guys, Extremely new to lego investing and planning on doing it on a very casual basis for a bit of fun in my downtime. Late last year I bought the UCS 10240 X wing and was planning on getting the Tumbler but didn't... Should have. This month I bought the Ewok Village and Pet store because those are the two sets I think will be EOL and have value. What do you guys think? Good idea/ bad idea. ? All my purchases were made at the lego store at a standard price. I think that waiting for specials based on what I've read isn't' the best idea. I see that there is a trend of sets being retired at the end of the year. Is there any other time of year …

Hello, happy to be joining this community. i just visited the Lego store the other day to buy a gift for a friends child. They were sold out in the store and when I was looking online I found this website. then I started researching Legos and investing and I'm hooked on the idea. I lovvvvvvvvvvvved Legos as a kid, still do. I'm a 26 year prior military guy who has been learning all he can about saving and investing the last couple years. And this is such a fun and lucrative thing to be investing, and diversify my money. A lot of it is in safe territory right now, which isn't best for someone my age. Sooo, now I'm sitting here in the downtown Disn…

Hello everybody, Introducing myself : 24 yo engineer from France, big fan of Lego when I was young and never really stoped because my mother sometimes bought me some little sets for fun (75078 the last one) ! I really never imagined that there could be a secondary market for legos and even a month ago told myself "who the **** buys a ~500€ DS for their kids??" And I'm now "why the **** didn't I buy it now that it's EOL ???!" I discovered all this secondary market during the media trend of the "Lego better than gold" 2-3 weeks ago. Might get myself in trouble telling you this ! You'll certainly all be like "****, one more in the game because of the medias !" Don't worr…

Hello eveyone and greeting from sunny Malaysia! The primary reason I joined was to re-kindle my interests in Lego which I played with while growing up in this part of the world some thirty odd years ago. And the remarkable thing is after all this while I am amazed to see so many people, both adults and children still very much interested in all those colourful and wonderful plastic bricks. My primary interest is in the Lego Classic Space series released by Lego at the end of the 70s and the early 80s. I have kept all my Lego including the boxes and instructions until this very day and I just took them out to assemble and admire at a while ago. It really brought…

Hello The Brickpickers ! This is to introduce myself as a newcomer. I'm Mineas, 37yo, French and Lego fan since I was 6yo ! I am currently working as Quality management engineer in a farm machines manufacturer in France. For now, I don't have any Lego sets but my son (8yo) has some of Starwars, Ninjago and City sets. His biggest and main set is the Phantom + Ghost ships He is also designing its own LEGO sets (marvellous imagination compared to me) At the moment, I am investigating the LEGO second market trading opportuntiy for 3 main reasons: 1) Making some money by buying kilos of bricks, sort and sell them as a low price second market opportunity…

  18. Been collecting for a while and just found this site. Great to be able to come here and get a sense of the value of some of my sets. I was wise enough not to open a couple of them, and I am glad I did not, but I am also kicking myself for not buying some of the one's I was eying over the years, like the Hogwarts Express. I am also surprised to find some of the very first sets (like the 7181 Tie Interceptor) are not higher up on the list. At any rate, I just picked up the Sphero BB8 from Force Awakens based on how well some of my Star Wars sets appreciated. I mentioned it to a friend of mine and he said he thought it would be too highly mass produced to be a collectib…

Hi, I've been building and collecting LEGO since childhood (never sold anything!) when my parents bought me a used collection of mixed 9V/12V trains and tracks. Guess my oldest set is 126 Steam Locomotive Push w/ motor upgrade or 119 Super Train Set, I'll have to dig through my boxes to see which one it was :-) I also have a lot of old space and technic sets. Unfortunately I missed the golden Star Wars era due to time and money constraints. The UCS-models are looking so great! But now (having turned 40) I've decided to start buying sets again, and always in pairs: one to build and one to keep as an investment ;-) Started out with 42009 mobile crane, 42030 Volvo …

Hi All, I'm huge love for Lego but I have selfishly joined to get some valuations on my collection which I am soon to start sorting, rebuilding, boxing up and selling. I have recently got married in Disneyworld Orlando (I'm a Brit) and my wife got Disney bug so wants to go back. So I have decided to give up my collection to return there in a year or so. The saving up starts here! Hello everyone
