I do not shop much at tru mainly because the prices are so high. I also find the practice of raising the price just to mark the item down and say it is on "Sale" very deceptive...My main question is why so many people bash them for having higher than retail prices on Lego. These same peple want to buy Lego cheap so they can charge higher than retail prices. I just dont buy there and choose cheaper outlets unless there is a great promo or gift.I dont have any problem with a store charging more than retail and would not be mad at them if that is what I was planning on doing also. There is money to made on lego even at MSRP Toy R Us Knows this they are a fellow competitor and…

Seemed interesting. I wonder if part of their strategy will be to lower some prices while increasing others (IE Retired sets...see SSD) They had some decent sales near Christmas. http://www.actionfigureinsider.com/toysrus-inc-outlines-tru-transformation-strategy/

TRU has the new SW planet sets of Series 3. I could only find the 2/3 of them though. According to the NY Toy Fair, they are supposed to come out next month. None are on sale. Also note: On the little info card, it says that it will sell for $9.99. TRU is selling for $11.99. Don't buy it now, but its just a heads up. http://www.toyark.com/news/toy-fair-59/toy-fair-2013-lego-star-wars-images-7236/ http://www.toysrus.com/search/index.jsp?categoryId=3686913&fr=StorePrice/TRUS/00001001/00002000&searchURL=false&f=PAD/Fulfillment+Option/SP&fbc=1&fbn=Fulfillment+Option|Ship+it&fbx=0

Hi I am pretty sure some of us got shot down when price match to Amazon. What they explain to me is the Prime logo next to the price. So it's a membership only price. But for the member that had Prime all knew, that's not the case. What Prime gave us is 2 Day free shipping and video streaming. Does anyone know why TRU is doing that? because what they explanation is wrong. And on TRU.com, they still say they price match Amazon. So, any thoughts how we can still price match to Amazon and argue with them? Since I dont see anything officially release from the TRU Corp.

So I've had multiple orders now that were partially paid with GC's (remaining balance made up with the TRU MC) that TRU cancelled but have failed to reinstate the GC balances. Customer Non-Service gives me the same run-around about giving it 3 to 5 business days even through it has been weeks since the orders were cancelled. I'm basically making it my new policy to use a CC for 100% of any online purchase -- so I have the chargeback recourse if needed. It wouldn't be bad to suck up the losses as a cost of doing business, but based on the the number of cancellations recently, it's amounting to close to 5% of the Discounted GC savings. I'll save the GCs …

I just received an email from TRU about price matching. Apparently they will match in store purchase prices with a valid competitors advertisement including their web pricing (except for online only purchases). This probably won't combine with their sales, but it might help people that are looking for sets they can't find in stock other stores.

I have to get this off my chest. I have made 2 purchases over the last 2 weeks and have not received any reward points. TRU is also running a promotion where you get 10% back and double reward points if you use the TRU credit card. I called them 6 days ago to report the issue. Of course the person I talked to couldn't do anything and forwarded everything to corporate. She told me to wait 5 days. 5 days have passed and in the meantime, I place another order. Which of course I didn't receive rewards for that order either. That brings us to today. I called, gave them my reference number and told them about my new order problem. The ordeal sent me to 5 differen…

Hi, I have a lot of TRU Reward to burn. 2 or 3 of $200 Rewards. I am thinking anything other than LEGO I can buy to use those rewards fast. I was thinking to get the iPad Pro, but it's not out yet. So, any suggestions? Or anyone interested to get them for 10% off.

I received my first rewards coupons in the mail today. Two $5 rewards that expire on 3/15/14 and another two $5 rewards that can be used from 3/16/14 - 3/31/14. Is this normally how they send out rewards? You have to use them within a two week window? That seems really lame.

I found it interesting that TRU did not offer the B2G1F on Friends, Ninjago, and Technic, but they did offer it on Monster Fighters and Star Wars. Do you think this signifies a shift in the buying patterns of kids today? I know that the last few years the sales almost always excluded the Star Wars sets, and whatever was popular for that year. TRU wants to optimize their profits just like everyone else so I understand that, but why not Star Wars? Are sales declining for Star Wars, is it just a fluke, or possibly just an effort to reduce inventory? What do you think?

I have three TRU orders in "Item located in stock" status. Two of these orders are for not-yet released sets (Rapunzel and Friends Beach House), so I'm thinking there's less than a 5% chance these ship in the next day or two. Has anyone had any order cancelled when in the "Item located in stock" status?

Hello all, I just wanted to get a general feeling on how many Brickpickers are supportive of TRU. I believe many of us don't like shopping for sets there, but some of you do. I'm on the fence about it because I've bought only once from them and it was almost a complete disaster. (The box was beat up so badly during shipping that it caused holes in the Lego box.)They refunded my money and let me keep the set. I've never bought from them again because I almost always found better deals on Amazon and I've also heard more about TRU's bad practices. (Shipping, eBay, etc.) Let me know what you guys think in the poll/comments.Thanks.

Last year, TRU.ca boost a lot of their prices, but now it seem that a lot of sets are MSRP (Most of Hard to find item and Star Wars) That's a really good thing!

Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but I just got my TRU bill, and it says there will be 10% off in store on Saturdays when using the TRU CC, from November 7th to December 19 (similar to last year).
