Hi everyone, I'm looking to purchase a lot of complete sets, from the early nineties era. Some castle and pirates etc. There are no instructions, at all. The sets are built (from online instructions) and photographed, so I know the sets are complete. I'm just wondering, how much lower than the market value these sets are then worth? is there a percentage anybody uses? do buyers generally care a great deal about the instructions?? Any info is greatly appreciated cheers,

I just need to vent... Saw a cute little polybag Christmas tree set for $3.49 at Target the other day. There were at least 20 of them in stock. I went back the next day to buy one for my holiday display. All of them were gone! Couldn't they have left a few for the end user? Bah humbug!

What would you do if you sold an old set that was still sealed and the buyer receiving the set complains about missing parts? Since you did not open the set, you cannot tell if he is making up something or not. And it is known that there ARE factory sealed sets missing parts. So, do you address the issue of potentially missing parts in a sealed set in the product description already to be "sure" no one can complain afterwards? Or does LEGO keep parts even for old sets ready at the customer service long enough after EOL to serve those who bought some years after EOL anyway? Then there would of course not really be a problem with the missing parts... Because you…

I have a question........Im the kind of invester who doesnt buy more than 2 or 3 of 1 set unless its dramatically reduced, so usually im buying bits of everything that i think will go up in price. Is this a good strategy?? Or should i be buying bulk amounts of 1 set? In the past month or 2 i have started buying just 2 of every set......And just sets that i like.......but i cant help but think that i should buy some sets in bulk??

Sorry if there is already a thread on this, but I have made my first sale on Bricklink, but I'm not sure how I'm supposed to go about it now and I was hoping some seasoned bricklinkers can help me out. Someone wants to buy a lot of bricks, and it looks like now I have to send them an invoice? But shipping rates are not agreed upon beforehand (like on ebay)? So do I have to send them an Paypal invoice with the shipping cost included, and then send out the stuff when it goes through?

I have a 10937 missing the large #1 bag. Other things are all sealed in the original bags, including the instructions and plates. The box itself is damaged so I just put everything in a brown box. In the link below there is pictures showing all the contents. There are supposed to be 2 bags numbered #1. The big one is missing. https://comunidade0937.com/forum/index.php?topic=12431.0 A complete set on amazon is about $260. Any suggestion on where and how much I should sell it for?

Recently I bought lots that had sets that had been partially opened. Some of the bags had been opened but others were still sealed. How would you go about selling those? Would you assemble what was loose and leave the rest in the bags and sell it that way or would you open everything and build it to sell as used? Previously I had a set like this that I did the first method, but I don't know what is the best way. Which method makes the most sense and makes it easiest to sell? Honestly I am not too thrilled with the idea of busting open all the remaining bags to the10188 just to try to sell it as used, but I will if that's the best method.

So I thought I would try and start a thread for settings for label printers people use - how to set them up and how to get started. A mod can add if others have settings and other Label printers people can use. Dymp 450/Dymo 400/ Turbos There are two parts. When you go to print the labels (like when you are purchasing them - if you already did, you have to void and start over - extremely stupid) click on the "printer and label receipt preferences". You want to go down to "Supported Label Printers" and then select Dymo Labelwriter 400 2.4x7. The second part is in the actual dymo printing preferences inside your PC. If you have a Windows OC, just go …

Dear Brickpickers! We have stumbled upon a collection of Star Wars minifigures which we would like to resell. Well the catch is: the minifigures are in real great condition. No scratches, all shiny and not a sign of dust or stains. The question is: how does one determine whether a minifigure is to be listed as new. I know, this might be the dumbest question you've read all day. Do LEGO vendors actually list these minifigures as new items based on the looks of the item rather than the freshness? It is something we've been wondering for a while. Now that we've seriously considered investing in minifigures, we feel like it's something we should know. Ma…

I've been collecting LEGOs for around 10 years now, and I think it's finally time for me to sell them. I made a spreadsheet with all of the sets I have and their retail prices. It came out to be $4,500. I'm wondering how I could go about selling all of these. - They are all in large tubs, not assembled or sorted. - I probably only have 95% of the pieces of all of these sets. How would I go about selling these in bulk, and how much do you think I could get for them? Thank you, - brjedi

A buyer recently asked to return a large Lego set they bought on BrickLink. The box was literally perfect when I sent it in the snug 'frustration free' cardboard box.As you can see, it did get a bit damaged in transit, but (to me) it's nowhere near "pretty beat up" as the buyer described. Of course, accepting the return means I'd be out selling fees and round-trip shipping, which totals around $60. Recognizing this, I offered him a small discount. He rejected and filed a claim with PayPal. The individual is apparently a reseller who is uninterested in less-than-perfect boxes. I am expecting PayPal will side with buyer because it seems like that's eBay's default. …

This may be the biggest lot I've ever seen on my local CL. http://austin.craigslist.org/tag/3889717844.html I can't afford it, but if anyone is interested I can try to talk to the guy or something, or maybe take a look at it in person. This could be an opportunity to get a seriously nice collection before it goes to ebay.

I had 15% off there last weekend on anything (although only 1 of each exclusive) and I picked up an R2D2 (for investing), a VW Camper (for investing), Palace Cinema (to build or to invest, haven't decided) and a tower bridge to build with the wife. I get 30% off on 5 sets this weekend but not on exclusives, what should I get? Don't ask how I get the discount, I'm not allowed to say.

So I was out today making my retail rounds, when I wandered into the Wally World clearance section... Lo and behold, there she was, a lonely Queen Anne's Revenge just waiting for me to find her. And only $79 too! Just goes to show, the best deals are found by getting out and hitting the streets!

Do you guys ever know you have something, but when you look for it you can't find it? I know pretty much everyone has experienced this. I'm starting to sift through inventory for listing stuff this holiday season. I've went through what I thought was my entire inventory 3 times and I can't find a Ninjago Destiny's Bounty that I know I have somewhere. I've searched for it for over 2 hours and my searching has pretty much negated any profit that I'll ever see even if I do find it. I have a bad habit of putting stuff in boxes and totes and I have to open all of them when searching. Oh well, it will be a nice surprise maybe someday in the future.

So I am currently working on a blog article where I want to examine if selling sets together in pairs is really worth the effort and if you can really make more money this way. I have several pros and cons, but I want to get data from Ebay to give a good look at what happens in the selling world. What I need is some good examples of sets that are retired and sell well together. I thought of a few so far, but I want to get enough possibles so I can get enough data to make it applicable. I thought of these so far: POTC Queen Annes and Black Pearl HP Hogwarts Castle and Battle for Hogwarts What are some others?

AKA my local Toys R Us. Only the second time I have ever been in one. They have the largest range of Lego I have seen, outstriping the Lego Store. Interestingly they had a lot of discontinued sets, most likely due to the prices they were charging. But some from memory.... 9476 Orc Forge
