Hi there, I have a large (19 inch tall) Lego figure that I wish to sell. As far as I am aware they have never been sold, they are only acquired as a retailer stocking lego - they are used for store merchandising. Any idea how rare this is and how much it would be worth? Thanks

I made a point to be at my local Kmart this morning when they opened with the hopes that their 50% off clearance sale would be starting since their last promo ended yesterday. No dice. What they have going on now is 10% off the clearance price and then then you get 30% back in points. Not terrible, but not as juicy as the 50% off sales we all know and love. This new promo runs through 8/24, so I will be back early next Sunday morning to see if they finally go to 50%. They ran the 50% sale over Memorial Day as well as the 4th of July, so the closer we get to Labor Day is when they will probably run it. My kmart is less than a mile from my house, so i have no problem checki…

I bought a Vampyre Castle in store at TRU but discovered later it was cheaper online so I had one shipped to home. The condition of the box that shipped to home was worse than the one I bought in store. Think I can return the one that shipped to home using the receipt from the in store order without any hassle?

So I got a bunch of these right before they disappeared off the planet overnight - all under $15. Some for $12 something. Anyway, My target with smaller sets is hopefully they will double quickly, and then sell them and be done as they usually have lower ceilings and they are better for quick transactions. So wolverine, probably somewhat influenced by Christmas, is sitting at almost $40 on Ebay. Which presents a question: 1. I could go ahead and double my money on the 15 or so I have now, walk away with an 100% ROI in about a month. Pros: quick money I can reinvest, also if these come back into stock its free money as I can get more. Cons: May miss ou…

I purchased a large bulk lot of random lego from a family a few months ago and myself and kids have been working on piecing together everything and taking inventory of it all. So far we have account for about 80 sets that are complete and probably around another 20 or more that are missing 1 - 8 parts max. All sets are from 1998 to 2005 approx. I was looking up the average used value here on brickpicker for each set and was considering selling them in bulk if possible for about 30 - 40% off the avg used value. Most sets come with instructions (all the big ones do) but no boxes. Condition is pretty good but some sets have a little wear from play. All sets exc…

So i was walking around Meijer yesterday and on the shelf were these two retired sets on the shelf. they did not have a tag or anything, they were just sitting there. I know these were not there the week prior so they must have been hidden in the stockroom or something. Any anyone experienced this before?

Overall I think it has been a pretty successful holiday season for most of us, I have done a lot of flipping and investing. Now that its close enough to Christmas where nobody can "steal" your flipping set ideas for this season I thought it would be fun to list what worked and what didn't. Some that Worked: Lego City Cargo Terminal: With BOGO at target and PM their website I paid about $71.48 with tax Sold for $130ish plus shipping. New Hobbit Sets. Used B&****** Coupons for these during BOGO. These were probably the most profitable. Architecture Sets, Particularly White House. -- I had never bought one of these before a month ago. I got the White House from…

So I just purchased 152lbs of LEGOs for around 4.00-5.50 a pound. My initial plan was to put them up on craigslist for 10.00 a pound and have a garage sale and sell them for 10.00 a pound. In the 152lbs I purchased there is a definite guarantee of a complete theme set of Indiana Jones(all the sets). There are also Harry Potter sets, I can see the towers for Hogwarts and just a bunch of familiar looking pieces I have seen from licensed sets. My question is, should i just sell them for 10.00 a lb and try to make a quick flip or should I take the time and try and skim through the pieces finding the Indiana Jones sets and possibly Harry Potter? It seems the used prices …

Hi, I just sold a star wars set worth a few hundred dollars (I would prefer not to state which set or the price). However the buyer has zero feedback and a very unusual username, like random characters. Would you be concerned about shipping the item to them? Are there any precautions that you would take? I'm thinking of the shipping insurance, or maybe requiring a signature? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Robert

This is a great project that we undertook with our 6 year old as a way of making him a part of our "sales team." The map represents about 160 sales from 2015, starting with our first Lego sale in March. Each customer gets a pin on the map and then as we ship to a new state my son gets to use the computer to look up an interesting fact about that state, and then write it in a journal. That way he is learning cool facts, and practicing his handwriting and computer skills. I bet he is the only kid in his class that knows what a peninsula is (Florida), or what the state song of Connecticut is (Yankee Doodle). Ive been waiting for a sale to Alaska so we can learn about archipe…

I saw a thread recently where Toywiz.com is buying Lego for resale. I logged in to my account and to my surprise, some of their prices are pretty good and considerably higher than the prices of items I picked up on clearance. If you need to offload some items quickly and don't want to hassle with EBay and PayPal fees, this may be a decent option. http://www.toywiz.com/toywizbuying.html Quick screenshot of a few items:

I purchased 3723 LEGO Mini Figure over the weekend for $168 shipped. Used with Manual. I am totally stoked about this because I have wanted this set forever. I see it is slightly lower than avg value. Trust the seller and the photos looked good. But the better deal is I scored a 10030 for $360 Sealed from a lady who had 3. I thought it might be a scam. I emailed her and she wrote back saying her father passed away and he bought 3 of these and 3 10188's for the boys in the family. But she decided to sell them because the boys said they didn't want them. There are no pictures so I really don't know what to expect. Just hope I don't get scammed. She had 6 seperate listing…

So, it finally happened to me. USPS destroyed a shipment of mine and then delivered it anyway. Buyer contacted me and wants to return or something, but I have a few questions. It was a 42000 that I sold for $200 on ebay and sent Priority. The shipping box and the set box are smashed all to hell. The set appears intact and complete however. The buyers states it is for a collector though. So I offered a return and full refund or a partial refund (amount not specified). 1. Is USPS supposed to deliver a box they clearly destroyed? Thought that was odd. 2. So if I file a claim with USPS, they will want to see the damaged box. Does the buyer need to take that in or …

Kind of like Life Hacks, but pertaining to our beloved hobby, I thought a thread for simple but useful tricks would be cool. I'll start: Make your own mini "space saver" bags with a ziploc and a straw. Put the pieces into the bag, zip it up with the straw barely inside the bag. Then, suck all of the air out of the bag. Quickly remove the straw and zip up that last bit in the same motion. Now, you have a super-skinny airless bag that won't rattle at all when shipped.

Hi, I was wondering how anyone here feels about how best to manage one's available time when it comes to finding deals on legos, or any products really, in the multitude of online or offline stores you can visit. I've noticed people here talk about major clearances people have found at their local stores, but from what I understand I'm not guaranteed to find the same great deal at my local walmart or target etc. that you did at yours while a link to a great deal on Amazon will work for virtually anyone who sees it assuming the deal is still going on. I don't really have a reason to go out to retail stores for any other reason, so there's a good chance I could go out to…

HOORAY!! i just sold my last Portal of Atlantis set from the Atlantis line. i think I may throw a party! i can finally wash my hands of that dog of a theme. it was quite a blemish on my brickfolio. i was sitting on six of those bad boys and it took almost two years to find six buyers. i wound up making about $20 each after costs. thankfully my entry point was low. good riddance!

Are there any good deals at Shopko? Has anyone shopped at Shopko before? If so, do they have a small or big selection of Lego? Any clearance? I bought Lego from TRU and Target last week, so I thought I would try somewhere else to buy Lego. thanks.
