  1. Received my Series 25 order from MinifiguresPlus yesterday. Kudos to them for their excellent service, as always. Here are my findings from sorting through these: - both boxes had European production codes - the Data Tag scanning (using the Brave browser on Android) worked great and gave perfect matches. - Somehow, each box of 36 had ~5 minifigures in it with the small tag, so I couldnt use the data tag to identify them. - I used my precision scale to weigh the packages, but weights didnt line up with weights published on the internet (Jay's brick blog or Reddit). Looking at relative weights I was able to pick out a few boxes that I was quite sure were Goat Herders, but that only allowed me to identify 5, not the full complement of 6. The other boxes had very similar weights, and even scanning the weight of data tag identified figures gave quite the range of weights (e.g. the Harpy had most boxes in the 17.5-17.7g range, but one was 17.3g :-/) - Finally took the plunge and used my heat gun to give one of the bottom side flaps a short (5-10s) burst of hot air. This was enough to melt the glue so I could peek inside and then stick the flap back to make the box reseal itself without any trace. Turns out the distribution of figures in my 2 boxes was not ideal (and sadly for me, I have one less goat than expected - my main driver to buy 2 boxes) :-( Here is what I got: - 6 of each figure, except: - 5 Vampire Knights - 5 Goat Herders - 7 Mushroom sprites - 7 Harpies I thought the heat gun trick was pretty neat - hope others have better distributions and can use my tricks above to identify theirs. 2. 1 sticker across multiple parts that is horrible or SC 3 stickers in a row that must be aligned near perfectly? In other news I finished Box 1 of 3 of Titanic which is approximately only 25% of the build, 12 bags. I made 3 mistakes, 2 minor that I fixed on the next step or 2, but one that required a thorough revisiting and deep thought, luckily not much rebuild though. I have become dependent on the iPad building app with the 3D rendering which takes all of the guess work out of the equation. Unfortunately, for this set only the PDF is available so I am using the paper instructions and figuring out where some of the elements go is not intuitive at times. So far only 2 missing elements that don’t interfere with the build. I might change up and build the Disney 100 Movie Camera and Disney Icons Villains sets between boxes to enjoy the voyage of the Titanic more. I have the Captain CMF ready to go for display.

  4. the list on reddit has it as retiring 2023 and has been 100% correct except for this set. they have it retired, off their list for future dates. it is interesting because all of the other retiring/retired 2023 sets are listed as retired in the app including the other ideas set that retired pooh. but this set is not retired anywhere in the world and is listed in the app as current. normally i would not trust brickset retirement info but in this instance it may be accurate. either way this set is not one that has any appeal to me for investing because the lack of any exclusive minifigure and a part out value under 2x msrp. missed opportunity for a sweet buddy holly mf.

  8. STAMP makes the initial/first build easier, but is a pain in the neck for used sets/rebuilds/alt builds. 3 stickers in a row is annoying to apply, but leaves the pieces intact. Having seen and used both, I am a fan of the individual stickers on individual pieces, no matter the difficulty in applying and aligning them at first.

  11. You will be protected from negative feedback. Do not refund the buyer yourself. Let GSC/GSP handle the situation. It's literally not your problem now and anything you yourself do may just complicate it further.

  12. One more for the car collection: 8674 Ferrari F1 1:8 Got it through a surprise acceptance of a lowball EBay offer. Needed a good clean, has all the stickers though it must have stood near a heat source on one side as the stickers on that side are crumbling. Placed 2 orders for replacement parts which includes some of the stickered panels. Total cost including shipping and tax $205. Last one of the affordable big F1 cars ... there are three more on my list but they are all in the $300+ used category. Two gripes about technic sets from the mid 2000s ... 1) STAMPs 2) instructions are condensed which is great, but they often include a few pieces randomly added in different areas of the build without any indication except for being shown in the little parts box. Frustrating for people like me who built LEGO sets in the late 70s early 80s who do not look at those parts boxes (because there were none in those days). Sent from my SM-A326U1 using Tapatalk
