  1. As for operating with a single account to stay within the vendor’s technically-enforced limits, I believe this is the current state of things. Cliff notes: you’ll be fine as long as you don’t go on a spending spree at Target.com, and try not to bring attention to your buying patterns by dealing with online customer service for small gripes that can be dealt with in store instead. Target - the easiest place to get banned based simply on purchase volume online and the most aggressive against resellers in store — employees trained to identify resellers loading up carts for example. Can still use red card in store after online ban, but using with a new email account will result in repeat ban — start receiving auto cancellations and email about possible issues including payment purchase method. Some people have bans lifted after a period in timeout. Others indefinitely. The amount of purchases that may identify you as a reseller and get a ban? One data point: I have been unable to purchase online going on 18 months now after two months of $5k purchases on the red card. Same red card still works fine in store. LEGO shop at home — with the purchase limits mechanics implemented a few years ago, it is much more difficult to get the SAH ban hammer. If you exceed a limit on any item based on past purchases of the same item, they will cancel your entire order. Be warned that if they cancel an order with a VIP Rewards purchase, the reward is not automatically credited back to your account. Also, if they cancel an item due to inventory issues, the system still tracks it as qty purchased. Qty purchased in brick and mortar stores that are purchased with VIP accounts are not counted towards SAH limits and and limits in store are done at the individual store’s discretion. If you do have to call customer service to resolve an issue, they do have easy visibility to all of your previous orders and will make comments about you “really liking LEGOs”. No indication that that is how the ban process starts, but unless you really have an issue that needs CS, might be best to just let the small things go. Amazon — shop away. Their limits are tracked to the second on a 168-hour FIFO. Limits apply and are tracked in that window only to items sold and shipped by Amazon.com. Buy as many third party items as you wish. Anecdotal stories of bans for excessive returns, but no clear information on the metrics used. Generally, probably best to save the returns for the really bad boxes. Creating multiple accounts will get noticed and is the quickest way to get the warning shot emails. Barnes and Noble — similar to LEGO, has a five qty per item lifetime limit online. Exceed that amount and just that item will be cancelled from the order. No reports of bans. In store purchases do not appear to be tied to online memberships as far as adding to your 5-count quantity. Walmart — most LEGO are limited to two per order, but they won’t say how often that limit is reset. Doing a couple of multiple limit orders in the same day has worked. Doing dozens has resulted in order cancellations of those specific items but no bans that I am aware of. Generally, I have found one limit order per day has never resulted in a cancellation. ShopDisney — some items have limits but they are selectively enforced. If you put in multiple limit orders at the same time, they might cancel those items. If you space them out, they will be fine. I ordered a dozen castles (limit one per customer) last year and they all went through. Sometimes two in two consecutive days. Costco — has item limits on some items, but I haven’t seen any on LEGOs. Even with items with limits, possible to space them out without issue. In store limits are usually “per day”. Best Buy — unsure on LEGO as I’ve never pushed the limits on them. In the past, I would make 50 purchases at a time of 2-dollar items that had limits and they would all go through. I have tried to make multiple purchases of Xbox consoles and those were cancelled. So YMMV. But no reports of bans. Anyways, those are my observations.

  3. Thanks for posting about this as it prompted me to search for this set elsewhere. Found it at Target for $69.99 (30% RRP of $99.99). Placed two orders for the four that are in the two stores near me for local pickup. I also placed a couple for shipping but there is a note that says the set "may" ship in its original packaging. https://www.target.com/p/lego-super-mario-bowser--39-s-castle-boss-battle-expansion-set-unique-toy-for-creative-kids-71369/-/A-78929976

  4. My most memorable K-Mart deal was in Florida where I found 12-15 bags of Mixels series 1. This was 1-2 years after those were retired. I had to pay full price (this was before the app and I had 0 coupon with me), but the profit paid for most of my plane ticket to/from FL.

  6. reminds me of the time... so as parents we're always looking to get diaper deals (Costco, Target, etc) to maximize the cost per poop..ANYWAY, one time while traveling we were caught without a spare and had to purchase the Individually packaged for retail at a 7/11...I think it was like $7...(I know so what)....any way we had to get it because we had no spares or backups...during the rest of the day we were just banking on not needing it till we got to our regular stash...all the time thinking.."well we have some old t-shirts we could jerry rig instead". Well we ended up not needing it and still have the unopened package to this day...

  7. I was able to print off a few earlier... now it's back to unable to refresh. Like others, I too can see inventory dwindling but no recorded pending sales. Fear of no sales these last few hours has caused me a great deal of pain and suffering. I'm another 30 min from calling Jackie Chiles.

  8. Mine was the $10 off $10 coupon and using them on $10.99 battle packs 75034, 75035, 75036. Used about $0.60 points on each. I stopped ordering at about 300 and none were canceled. I received like 6% back 3Bates on the $10.99 for each. I had one garage stall pretty full of boxes and envelopes. The post office even just brought the envelopes in those big USPS totes and just left them on the porch. They did mix in a few Battle on Saleucami and Battle on Geonosis with the shipments accidentally when they were picking stuff off the shelves.

  9. Every Christmas I'm reminded on eBay thru strange messages that I am the scum of the earth. I'm not able to go back to my messages last year, but here's the summary: "I work for a local charity and I was hoping you could donate the 60266 745pc Ocean Exploration Ship that costs $150 retail" Ya, sorry. Charlie's (Wonka) uncle would pawn that thing in a second or Charlie's life would be in serious danger in the neighborhood The guy who asked had feedback showing several items purchased over $1k and $1k+ items for sale Let's be real dude, this ain't going to Charlie, more like your son Jimmy " This has been a really bad year for us and Jimmy, I was hoping you would understand, and sell me the 60266 745 pc Ocean Exploration Ship for 50% off retail" Again, this other dude's feedback showed several high priced items recently purchased "I can't believe you're selling the 60266 745 pc Ocean Exploration Ship at 150% of retail. You are a rip off and causing Jimmy to miss out on his present" I'm sorry, did you wait all year for this to launch, did you wait in front of the mall for hours to guarantee you would get one only to find out that they had plenty in stock and I wasted a Saturday morning? Did you see the sale a couple of months ago when this thing was 30% off? Maybe you should have taken advantage Karen So, I'm giving in this year and doing auctions starting at a penny. I haven't gotten a message yet. Probably because they realize the market will determine the price based on supply & demand, and it's your peers that are driving the price up. I know I'll miss out on the "emotional" buy it now high margin selling price, but at least I can guarantee that they'll get it by Christmas because the auction ends within the delivery window plus extra room for delivery delays. Sorry for the rant. I know you all will understand this.

  10. Nice find. Mine were the $4 K-2SO and Death Trooper constractibles that they suddenly had in stock in large amounts (I believe I picked up 30 of each from one store alone). That was the price before coupons, my actual buy-in was closer to $2.50. Not to mention that I got $15k in RRP LEGO from them for $2.5k out of pocket. Yes, I am a small-timer.

  11. Hunting through bins of Hot Wheels to find a Tesla Model Y to "buy" with the monthly "get a free Hot Wheels car" coupon. Then selling it on Amazon for >$10.

  12. Kind of miss having K-Mart around with their spin-the-wheel games to earn reward points. I miss their coupons that may or may not work depending on whatever their website decided on that day. Their website also had some wonky math calculations that forced me to try different combination of sets to get the coupons to work. Also miss their end of the year coupons that stacked with bogo offers. Best thing was their birthday discount/coupon that was good for the whole birthday month, automatically added to cart, and also stacked with whatever offer they had that month 🤑 ETA: Their stores smelled weird but nothing beat their 40% off clearance prices - whatever coupons / rewards you had in your account

  14. Therein lies the problem. I've basically committed to buying every future modular building until either I die or The LEGO Group stops making them. My opinion, therefore, doesn't matter. All LEGO has to do is put some technic pins at the side of any building they produce and I start twitching.

  15. The beautiful Diner was panned early on for not fitting the classic theme, and holds poor reviews today compared to older modulars. But it seems to have opened the door for sets that move away from the older, blander colored, sets. This would have been panned even harder than the diner had it been released first. My favorite line from the Brickset review: They can just go out to the sidewalk and pretend it's San Francisco Just drop some of these on the sidewalk

  23. noticing that amazon has the bold green Arrives before Christmas now under each seller (or not) for each listing. If you are selling FBM and not sure why ur not having many sales, might want to see if you show up under your listings as having your item arrive in time for christmas or not. if not, you should spend some time tweaking your shipping settings. beginning by making sure you have set the default handling time from 5 days to 1 day. 5 day handling time lol.

  27. Great post. These have been my experiences as well. At BestBuy I remember placing multiple orders within minutes of each other when they were blowing out the Chicken Coops for $11. All were for in store pick up, and all went through with no issue. I ended up with around 60 Chicken Coops. I think as long as they have stock they will ship it. Since Lego isn’t their main focus, I’m assuming they don’t care. They just want to move it. Other popular items like game consoles are a different matter, I imagine. Mods…the OP should be stickied. Good info in there to refer back to without having to search for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  30. Received this one this morning. Guess because they're not a collector or reseller I don't have money invested and need to make a profit 🤷‍♂️ Or need money to purchase things on a Christmas list for my own family No harm in asking I suppose but still it's annoying. Btw they're asking for about 40% discount

  33. One more issue, when changing prices, there is a chance system does not take the new price after 15 minutes. I changed price on 2 ASINs and clicked Save All. 30 minutes later 1 changed to new price the other did not.

  34. 10% still comes off of lego and basic sale pricing Clearance is the buggy one, if lego is in clearance I do remember them doing away with the 10% stack. Haven’t had any great clearance in awhile so haven’t bought any to test. But for this 25% sale off of Mario the 10% should stack just fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  35. I THINK this was my first LEGO purchase for myself as an adult! Had noticed and bought the castle (7094 Kings Castle Siege) discounted for my son and wanted knights for myself. It was either this or an Exo-Force set. Not 100% certain How much did you have to pay for it if you don't mind?

  36. Way to do it is sell local for cash at cost & get the saber for free.

  37. I like this too. It's different. A lot of these look lame when placed all in a row. This seems reminiscent of the Flatiron building in that it has a funky shape to it to fit the available lot. No one remembers a perfect building just like no one remembers a perfect tree… (at least that's what I tell my wife when I buy trees on clearance)

  40. The Facebook Marketplace local selling techniques mentioned here by terrymc4677 and others do work and thanks so much for sharing with us. I was able to sell three big City sets (very large sets to ship) this past weekend alone, two Rocket Assembly & Transport sets and one Downtown Fire Brigade along with multiple Harvester Transport sets (those in particular sold within hours after I posted them). I think I may keep my last one of those! It does take patience to get your asking/target price and as I was told, it does help to create multiple listings to generate interest and to let buyers know you are selling many sets. One buyer bought three sets from me with no negotiations needed. My tips are to include in a link in your listing to the Lego site (this helps to either let potential buyers know they are getting a good price or the set is retired) and to include/bundle a free item such as a polybag (we all seem to get them as GWPs). May I have success selling my Batcave Clayface Invasion sets this way too! This is a great community and I appreciate the selling advice! It does work!

  42. He can't handle all of the taxes on his end. You still owe tax on whatever income you receive from selling on Amazon. Maybe you're selling at a low enough level where that income can fly under the radar, but if there is money flowing into your accounts whether through Paypal F&F, Paypal goods & services, ACH, wire transfer, deposit, etc., the IRS considers that income and expects you to report it and pay tax on it. As to your original question, in addition to the question above about the value of your time, whether or not to get your own account depends on what your plans for the future are. If you're only wanting to sell a little bit of inventory here and there, your current arrangement may make sense. However, if you plan on growing your sales and trying to generate real money from selling on Amazon, I would definitely recommend getting your own account and handling things yourself. If you are selling through someone else, you have given up control over pretty important aspects of your business and placed your fate, to one degree or another, in the hands of someone else. If that person doesn't follow your directions and prices things too low, you lose money. If that person screws something important up, you lose money. If that person decides that something is more important than selling your inventory, you lose money. If that person decides not to pay you, what recourse would you have to get your money? Etc. Etc. If you are going to sell through someone else, I would make absolutely certain that you can trust that person to follow through on whatever arrangement you have with them.

  43. I will say when things go wrong their customer service sucks. In my experience. It’s all fine through text communication. And each time you send a note of answer a question it takes a whole day. So a message that contains 7 comments takes at least a week to communicate. And no phone customer service. At least not for USA that I could find.

  44. I feel like its Russian roulette with them. Some orders great and others are a disaster. I had 3 Disney castles taped together and shipped without a box. My latest fiasco that I’m still fighting with them is 4 falcons that I bought in October. They never arrived and I’m fighting to get my refund. Some orders came perfectly from them though without issues.

  47. And I thought Lego Box Queens were bad: Buyer's note: With the propensity of any sealed LP to readily develop seam splits during shipment, my hope is that you can provide an arrangement such as a double box configuration, with the LP placed between two sheets of bubble wrap that are in turn placed between two pieces of cardboard mailers tightly taped together. Placing that inside an inner box that is in turn placed inside a larger mailer will ensure that the LP arrives in the same condition sent. Please ship USPS Priority. Best Regards, N
