  1. Picked up another cl lot for a hundo after work yesterday. The DeLorean was bagged separate but the rest is a jumble. There is a Diagon alley in there which motivated me to buy it. Movie sets, about a dozen star wars minifigures, 4 harrys so hopefully 4 HP sets. I built the Delorean and recovered much of the Diagon last night. House quickly became a lego mess. I have this spread out across the dining room, coffee, and kitchen tables. Wife is out of town, I have two weeks to do this or could be trouble

  2. We have been stalking a R2-D2 UCS 10225 to build for a while, but hadn't found a price that was worth pulling the trigger on. Finally got one used as-is on eBay best offer for $94 including shipping, and amazingly it was only missing the R2-D2 mini-figure and 7 other pieces (though it also had about 150 extra Lego pieces, a random Republic Attack Cruiser from the 30053 polybag, and a couple hundred Mega Bloks pieces with a Halo minifigure thrown in for good measure). Just added the missing pieces to a BL order for around $4 and I am good to go! Me and the kids will be adding a pic to the "What did you build today" thread in a couple of weeks:)

  3. Pulled an @darin and bought up all the Lincoln Memorial below $30 shipped off of BL over the past week. Seeing it is already at $60 few sellers and easy to ship figured it was a no brainer. Hopefully the next 21016.

  4. FC is from the fulfillment centers, mainly box damage, new overstocks, few minimal returns that were from FBA sellers or Warehouse deals etc. (used to be called DC loads but they got rid of the distribution center call them FC now). come in 2 types High Piece count which is all smalls, and Low Piece count which is lots of big crap. Can still be very good but you are gonna have some heavy stuff to deal with. Floor loads are regular Amazon returns loads. They used to be palletized but over the years freight got higher so they actually stack a 53' trailer from top to bottom end to end to make them larger and minimize freight costs for the buyers. all untouched loads from them are mixed categories across the board. Anytime something has been categorized out it has been sorted so have the shot of stuff being gone through. Still can be good if you prefer certain categories or can't move certain products. That is actually a pic of a new load. Don't have any current pics of Return loads but they are big and a pain to unload. busted

  6. Two weeks! No problem. Get it sorted while you're watching football this weekend. Nice score by the way. I purchased some Droid Escapes at Walmart for $19. They have been sitting there since before Christmas with no additional markdowns yet. I didn't want to miss out on them since they were the last Walmart in town to have some left. They had a couple Juniors Cinderella's Carriage for $13 which I also picked up. It's not retiring soon but I couldn't pass them up at almost 50% off.

  8. Selling a loose Marvel Legends action figure on Ebay. The word "loose" is in the title in allcaps. It's the only word in allcaps. The photos are of a loose figure. The first word in the description is the word "loose." Item specifics state that it comes without packaging. New message from: ubaldie (0) Is the figure loose?

  9. Please forgive a grumpy, retired veterinarian when I say, "buy raffle tickets"! If we can afford to buy LEGO sets then we can afford to support this extremely meritorious cause! Life is about making good decisions and right now the members (with the exception of those who have donated/bought tickets) are NOT making good decisions. These kids and the school need our help. Ed is the go between person. Let's not disrespect him and all that he is doing and for heavens sake let's not allow this school to continue to scrape by or fail. So open up your wallets you cheap skates and buy some tickets!!!!!! Okay I am done my rant. And please refer to my preamble about me being a grumpy, retired veterinarian as to the cause for same But seriously, buy some tickets.......all of you! Have a good evening. PS: Mods, I know that this is not the board to post this on, but I did it anyways. The more people that read it the better. That said, feel free to remove it if you so choose. Paul

  10. I picked this set on over 2 years ago and am finally getting around to building it. It was a PITA getting the legs aligned properly with the motor for it to walk somewhat smoothly. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/20784924/Lego/IMG_5392.MOV

  18. Of course the 100k can be done, but you're not going to be able to just quit your job, curse out the boss, and then go home & start collecting your 100k salary. As far as what is better to do with your million dollars? If you have the million dollars to start, you should really just keep doing what made you that extra million.

  19. Toys R Us is running a buy 1 get 1 free on all Toys to Life products online and in-store this week. Lego Dimensions is included in the sale as well as the online pre-order for the Lego Batman Movie story pack. The pack is RRP at $49.99 so if you buy two that comes out to $24.98 each. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=111584206 The TRU BOGO was posted a couple days ago, but I thought this Lego Batman Movie story pack deal was worth pointing out.

  24. I irrationally signed up for this, out of pure over exuberance, back when it was just free 2-day shipping on select items. I've temporarily gone without it on two separate occasions and regretted it each time. Combine the shipping with Prime Video (more and more and more originals...good stuff) and Prime Only Deals and it's a must-have for me.

  32. I'm more than half way done with mine and I can tell you it would be extremely difficult to duplicate with a lego pieces. They have a lot of pieces that don't exist in Lego and there have to be more than 50-60 printed pieces. The two arms that support the nacelles is one piece so you would have to figure out how to reproduce that and make it strong enough to support the weight. It would be a monumental task. Oh yeah, I think I'm missing a couple of pieces too. [emoji849]

  33. My mistake. Consider that $750k-1M annual outlay, that's returning $100k profit. You're looking at a 10-15% ROI. Ask your financial advisor for options that have a shot at that ROI - they'll have a dozen options for you. They'd all be considered "high-risk" in finance terms, but nonetheless lower risk than LEGO. I say this as a guy who did $28k in gross revenue ($7k in profit, not accounting for my 300 hours of time) in 2016, and put serious consideration and math into my scaling potential.

  34. 1. Yes, you could make $100k profit a year. 2. It would require roughly $750k-1M in capital, accounting for your product & overhead (space & payroll required, as others have said). 3. If you have that kind of capital, there dozens of far better investments. LEGO is high-risk. There's easily a half-dozen strategic risks to the business model, and not nearly enough strategic advantages to mitigate them. 4. Therefore, treat LEGO "investing" like you do betting at the horsetrack. Enjoy the scouting and picking of winners/losers, strategy of placing your bets, thrill of the race, joy of victory - if you take pleasure in that, it can be the most profitable hobby you'll ever have, but don't fall prey to illusions you could make a living at it. Yes, there's always stories of someone who "wins big at the track". Or some old timer who lives there in the smoking lounge and actually does make a living on it. But that simply isn't the norm.

  36. I had a decent 24 hour span on eBay ending Sunday afternoon. Sold 9 sets. All are new and a mixture of Jabba Palace, Rancor Pit, 1 75055 ISD, 4204 The Mine, 1 Ant-Man and Benny's Spaceship sets. Everything sold for $1350 before the vast amount of fees. Even w/ my UPS and FexEx biz account savings, shipping with US Priority is still cheaper because of eBay's USPS discount.
