  1. All of you will now see that the discount update will only be one post. It will not be 20+ posts throughout the day filling up the forum. It will clean itself up by deleting the last post and posting a fresh update from discounts over the last 24 hrs. I will be able to add all the other retailers to it as well. It will also add it automatically as a sticky post at the top so no one should miss any deals. One post, summed up, nice and clean. Hopefully that works better for some of you. If you still don't like it, then continue ignoring the Max Profit posts and then you can still be happy.

  14. OMG, so I was going through some old pictures and I found this gem from Christmas 2006. This is me, 8 year old Stud-Flipper with one of the first LEGO sets I ever got. It was early and I was very sleepy, and probably a little grumpy that I didn't get the batcave or joker copter.

  20. Looks like a data entry problem, decimal part is fine, price should have shown $39.73, which is likely what it retails for right now if you were to scan it in the store.

  25. You would easily sell this for more than your CL price on BrickLink. Like x1.5 and rising. That would far offset your fees hesitation. Shipping small promos is easy. Sellers pay shipping so that is moot. I think your hassle and potential for a scam is pretty low on BL. I'm missing the downside. Admittedly I'm biased as I personally see CL as a last resort marketplace. Yes there is a learning curve for setting up your store, but just a little motivation now would make what hasn't worked for you much better. BL is surprisingly friendly to the casual shop. If you shop there for parts you already know half of the system. Anyway, good luck.

  30. Saw an End Portal 21124 at local Target today... had to get service desk to price match it to target.com to get it for $34 out-the-door. There was a little resistance... first service rep said "We cannot price match anything between Thanksgiving and Xmas"... not even Target.com? ... "No, I'm sorry." So I decided to order it on the spot, for store pick-up. Target.com said my store had "limited inventory" so I could not put it in my cart and buy it. Went back to the service desk and explained my dilemma (still being very polite and patient). This time, and assistant manager got involved... she even took my phone and tried to order it for me... with no success, she said... "Okay... I'll do this price match just this one time..." I graciously thanked her. Not even sure I really want it... maybe not a good investment... but we'll see. I may just build it with my son... we love the endermen.

  33. And people say LEGO is expensive.... AG dolls are like $120 for a basic doll, and leaving the store without parting with at least $200 is virtually impossible...
    2 points
  34. Oh ouch. My wife as been an AG collector since 10 years before my daughter was born. I don't even want to think about the amount of LEGO profit that has gone into paying for AG stuff through the years. (For some reason, my wife thinks the girl needs a new doll every time we visit the store).

  38. Ok this story is now over, but let this be a WARNING to all (Relatively) new sellers using FedEx (or UPS for that matter) shipping through EBay/Paypal: EBay does not acknowledge any errors in their shipping tool with regards to Dimensional Shipping. They do not give you any warnings, and claim they are covered by the "Estimated Shipping Cost" label they slap on the price. YOU as the seller are supposed to go to the FedEx/UPS website, enter package details and figure out what the dimensional weight is for your package, then use that weight in EBay's shipping tool to calculate your package price. THIS IS NOT EXPLAINED ANYWHERE. EBay could have just included this calculation in their tool, it's a one-line math formula (HxWxDxfactor) using data they already collect from you, but they are not doing this. I had 4 phonecalls over the course of 2 months on this matter, which just became a matter of principle to me, and ultimately after speaking with the manager of the supervisor of the agent I worked with initially, they gave me a coupon to cover the difference in quoted cost and charged costs, as they claimed they could in no way refund me the difference (I was quoted $13.55 for a FedEx smartpost shipment, and charged $27.38 - got a $15 EBay coupon expiring in 2 weeks). I strongly advise everyone here to either avoid using FedEx/UPS when shipping from EBay, or to bookmark the dimensional weight calculators for use before purchasing a label through EBay. For reference, the links are: FedEx: http://www.fedex.com/in/tools/dimweight.html UPS: https://www.ups.com/content/us/en/resources/ship/packaging/dim_weight.html (but this only gives you the formula) A combined tool is available at ShippingEasy.com if you are comfortable with using a third party calculator for this: http://shippingeasy.com/dimensional-weight-calculator/ If I had the same amount of balls as Tabby, I would have taken them to court over this, as I think this is a scam. The comparison I used with them is the following: "If I were a seller on EBay and I offered something up for sale for $100 with $10 shipping, and then charged the buyer $20 for shipping after learning the true cost, without their consent, my seller account would be banned immediately. Why do you do this to your customers then?". They admitted it was not correct, but could not refund me the money, nor commit to putting even a simple warning popup on the calculator to inform people that they need to check their dimensional weights before using the tool. Now what to buy for $15 Can you use EBay coupons on EBay GCs ? *wink* EDIT: YES
