  1. All of you will now see that the discount update will only be one post. It will not be 20+ posts throughout the day filling up the forum. It will clean itself up by deleting the last post and posting a fresh update from discounts over the last 24 hrs. I will be able to add all the other retailers to it as well. It will also add it automatically as a sticky post at the top so no one should miss any deals. One post, summed up, nice and clean. Hopefully that works better for some of you. If you still don't like it, then continue ignoring the Max Profit posts and then you can still be happy.

  14. OMG, so I was going through some old pictures and I found this gem from Christmas 2006. This is me, 8 year old Stud-Flipper with one of the first LEGO sets I ever got. It was early and I was very sleepy, and probably a little grumpy that I didn't get the batcave or joker copter.

  20. Looks like a data entry problem, decimal part is fine, price should have shown $39.73, which is likely what it retails for right now if you were to scan it in the store.

  25. You would easily sell this for more than your CL price on BrickLink. Like x1.5 and rising. That would far offset your fees hesitation. Shipping small promos is easy. Sellers pay shipping so that is moot. I think your hassle and potential for a scam is pretty low on BL. I'm missing the downside. Admittedly I'm biased as I personally see CL as a last resort marketplace. Yes there is a learning curve for setting up your store, but just a little motivation now would make what hasn't worked for you much better. BL is surprisingly friendly to the casual shop. If you shop there for parts you already know half of the system. Anyway, good luck.

  28. Is there a Vader tie coming separately as well? That will definitely sink 75150. To me the attraction of 75150 was never the A wing, but the Tie.

  30. Saw an End Portal 21124 at local Target today... had to get service desk to price match it to target.com to get it for $34 out-the-door. There was a little resistance... first service rep said "We cannot price match anything between Thanksgiving and Xmas"... not even Target.com? ... "No, I'm sorry." So I decided to order it on the spot, for store pick-up. Target.com said my store had "limited inventory" so I could not put it in my cart and buy it. Went back to the service desk and explained my dilemma (still being very polite and patient). This time, and assistant manager got involved... she even took my phone and tried to order it for me... with no success, she said... "Okay... I'll do this price match just this one time..." I graciously thanked her. Not even sure I really want it... maybe not a good investment... but we'll see. I may just build it with my son... we love the endermen.

  33. Oh ouch. My wife as been an AG collector since 10 years before my daughter was born. I don't even want to think about the amount of LEGO profit that has gone into paying for AG stuff through the years. (For some reason, my wife thinks the girl needs a new doll every time we visit the store).

  35. I have 2 left in minty boxes. As I said earlier, all 5 of mine so far went for $145. I think I am going to hang on to the last 2 I have and see if this things keeps chugging along...after all it's only been 8 months which isn't too bad these days. I think a little more waiting might work and nice sale @Phil B

  36. I think Classic 60's Batcave will go before Helicarrier. I think it has probably been a hugely disappointing set in terms of sales for Lego, even discounted it just doesn't shift units in UK. A playset designed on a theme only adults will appreciate, i still can't fathom what lego were thinking. GBHQ works because as well as being a play set it delivered as a display piece or as an addition to a modular town.

  39. @mudcatsfan I was never really in the game. I'm more of a frugal collector than reseller. I divested most of my duplicates (I was using the buy two, build one & sell another approach) earlier this year. I still have quite a few promos that I'd like to get out of my closet. I did manage to sell a Christmas Train and Gingerbread House bundle via CL this summer, but no action since. I hate to lose on shipping and selling fees, so that's a big reason I pulled out. Buying is really fun, but selling can be dreadful. P.S. Reposted in Brick Classifieds just in case Update: Sold via BC overnight. Hooray!
