  1. $800 later (that was my atm max) nothing I could do I ended up with all the sets . I was like $800 and that's all I can do due to actual limitation . After looking at used sales value on eBay these I think I can get double my investment .. But these are going in my room as part of my collection

  3. Yesterday I sold my son's old Legos collection to a guy on Craigslist for $800! My son just went off to college, so these old toys were just sitting around collecting dust. I initially just listed the Star Wars space base thing. The guy called me asking about it and asked if I had anymore and how much. I threw a crazy high number ($1200) so see if he would bite. He offered $1000 and I couldn't agree fast enough. We actually settled on $800 because he had some lame excuse about an atm limit or something. I didn't care because he gave me $800 for a bunch of old dusty plastic bricks! What a schmuck! Included in the sale was a hotel, a Star Wars space ship, the Star Wars base, an old car, and a few other odds and ends. $800!!!!

  4. Today was a special build, as last year I retrieved all my childhood LEGO from my parent's place. And since then have been sorting it here and there. Well I finally finished sorting and it was time to inventory and build a set :D! Pulling parts according to the inventory list (Peeron) Building the 6879 Blizzard Baron from the Ice Planet 2002 space theme (notice the LEGO man supervising as they do in all my builds). So 1st set is 100% complete and ready for cleaning, bunches more to go! I have to say I have built many sets from my childhood in recent years and while they have been nostalgic and fun. This is a whole new level when you are handling the very same bricks that occupied countless hours of your childhood. Its a powerful feeling almost like handling sacred relics from the past. It strikes me on such a deep level that these bricks I loved through the 1990's are still going strong and a brand new brick would seamlessly fit anywhere on this set. A true testament to the outstanding power of LEGO and the wonderful worlds it creates. I am so very thankful to have most of my childhood LEGO intact and that neither me nor my parents ever got rid of these precious bricks during my ~12 years in the dark ages.

  6. I've been pretty sick lately. So I had some time on my hands in between naps to finish off a couple of sets. It really picked my spirits up and kept my mind off the pain! Thank you Lego!! #LegoDad

  7. I think most here would buy these for a $1000 if they were found in a pig sty and covered in muck.

  8. We are recently out of the Dark Ages, so couldn't find / afford SW UCS retired sets like@TCSBGDADY, so focused on modulars.

  15. I'll never give any business whatsoever to UPS, that would be morally irresponsible for me. They have ripped me off way too often with their absurd "broker" charges when shipping from the U.S., such as 60 CAD for a declared value of 100 CAD. They'll never get another buck from me!

  16. Finally gave my 6 year old the last of the figures he needed to complete his set...then built the stand out of a few random pcs from a recent bulk purchase. Also built changing seasons which I will photograph and share at some point soon.

  18. Built a set with my daughter for the first time, she found it quite complicated and was getting a bit frustrated with the process. Who would have known that an 18 month would get angry trying to put the pieces of Duplo Learn to Count Train together.

  24. Stock tracker came through for me. One FFotDB at Target per tracker and it was actually there. $84. Better than i could have done at TRU with coupons etc. Also got that Elves set. Comes with the Green Dragon. Daughter wants the dragons. $42 from $60. I'm fine with that.

  27. Finished first 2 sections and about to add a third. It's modular so I can always add more as needed as I continue to get more figures. Room for Thanos at the top and my beloved Deadpool (coming soon) is going somewhere right in the middle! Saw an original design on youtube, then I tweaked it and made it 6 rows high as well as 3 studs deep on the top so the Maxi figures fit better. I also made it so there are 3 modular connections with the technic holes so it's sturdier and snaps together in place better.

  29. When I see posts like this, I'm supremely impressed by the sheer marketing genius of The Lego Group. BTW, I bought a Mystery Machine for me and an overpriced Duplo train for my daughter to get my "free" Knights set.

  30. A bigger congrats on your son going off to college. Feeding him a supplemental diet of legos throughout his life, more than likely played a small part in shaping him into a sharp lad, and a future protege of whatever field he chooses!

  32. This is spectacular. I dare say a better deal than $1 Spaceports or $12 Sandcrawlers in my book, given that these are all retired and you truly made all of us jealous. I'm hoping none of it turned out to be kragled (that was the thought that popped into my head at night), but boy do I wish I was you right now.

  40. Built Big Ben and added lights from Brick Stuff. What a slick addition to the model - I added two white LEDs in the top of the tower, and two green LEDs behind the colonnade above the four sided clock. Next step is to illuminate the facade and light the Tower Bridge displayed next to it. For those builders and MOCers that have thought about diving into lighting, you will not be disappointed.

  41. I returned from my dark ages less than 6-months ago. I'm caught up and ready for Brick Bank! I added the MMV to the Winter Village. Other "notable" details include Polar Bear championed by the Snowman, "wise man" Qui-Gon Jinn on a camel, and the Gingerbread man in his house. As for the modular city, things to see include the ominous Imperial Shuttle, standard Spider-man, Dracular doing his best E.T., minifig versions of the wife and I lightsaber dueling, and Doc Ock causing terror from atop the fairgrounds.
