  1. Yes, collection is in Albuquerque, NM. I'll drive up to 500 miles on my end for delivery if needed. My treatment has been great so far. Losing much of your tongue totally sucks, but it beats the alternative. Thanks everyone for the good wishes, I'll make it through this.

  2. I've had many inquiries, thanks to everyone! The collection has been sold, and I'm working with the buyer to arrange delivery. Thanks again to everyone, that was really quick. I actually had several offers in excess of my $12,500 asking price. I didn't accept them as 1) I had been working a deal with a buyer prior to this, and 2) I felt $12,500 was the fair price which leaves enough room for the buyer to make some profit on this collection. After all, that's one of the reasons we're all here. Thanks again, now I have to start packing things up.

  3. Once again, thanks to all. I really didn't want my health to be such a big deal; we all deal with stuff like this eventually, at least if you're living right. Here I am. 6" incision on my neck from the radical neck dissection I had 7 weeks ago. All the lymph nodes in the left side of my neck were removed, along with about 35% of my tongue.

  5. I sold the beat up box tower bridge I picked up the other day for $200. Not too interesting but I did sell it on a new site (new to me) Nextdoor.com. It's a message board website for neighborhoods. It has a classified section. I don't think I will list any thousand dollar SSDs there but it might be good for small and used stuff. It's also great for getting local recommendations. It's gotten so expensive to sell online, love seeing a new local source beside craigslist. It's much more personalized than CL too so I don't expect the garbage responses I sometimes get on CL.

  13. Finally, I found the time to build a little bit today. It's Battle on Takodana with some Jedis visiting Maz while the bad guys are out of town. Thankfully, there were only two stickers in need of application and the banner is made of some kind of fabric. Also, most of the parts and bricks seem to be easily repurposed for MOCs.

  18. @diablo2112 I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Good luck with your recovery and health. I know it isn't easy but we all wish you the best going forward. Staying positive for your family and self def helps.

  19. I agree .. the set itself is mediocre so the raptors are the only thing carrying it. I agree with newbie and $150 will be it's upper limit... maybe you get the swing of $160 on Amazon, $140 on eBay (or so) but I can't see it hitting $200.

  25. Just ran across this article about where this issue could be heading. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/rob-commentary/visa-v-walmart-credit-card-fees-need-to-be-capped-for-small-and-large-business/article30501233/ In other news, my PC card weekly promo is giving me 20% off all toys this week. That's 1000% better than a 2% cash back offer just for owning this card. That's nothing to sneeze at.

  26. This is the first minifigure series I own every minifig of. Actually I thought the football (for my u.s. friends soccer ;-) ) series would be the first series I collect all minifigs of but I'm still lacking two ^.^ Most of the Disney ones aren't that appealing to me and with some I really liked I got a little bit disappointed (buzz lightyear I'm looking at you and your visor!) but I still wanted to have them all ^.^ Mickey's design is really plain, as THE disney minifigure that's been a little bit weird for me. I'm already looking forward to display them with the needed scene. Maleficent already has gotten her disney henchmen army surrounding her (I'm talking about the force awakens stormtroopers ;-) ). My favorites have been: Mr. incredible (and his hairpiece!) and Syndrome and his hairpiece! Also love ursula! Hook is nice as well. Maleficent has been a little bit disappointing but I still really like her (just as buzz). Alice has been better than I thought. And Aladdin together with Genie is a nice paring. Love stitch as well! The grinning cat is nice but odd in that shape... Ariel is nice but not ranking amongst my favorites. The rest is good but I didn't really fancy them. I guess my LEGO Star Wars collection needs mikey and donald though. Syndrome already is friends with sheldon and asking him for help building his new battledroid (showing him the plan and everything, while ursula just kind of popped into tbbt living room togheter with syndrome... maybe they have the same hairdresser who knows). What are your favorites? And which minifigs are you hoping for in a possible next series?

  29. Built this bad boy over the weekend. I was up until 1:30 on Saturday night working on it. I thought about making the final push that night to finish but decided I had had one too many whiskey's at that point. Good thing I didn't, my 3 year old was up at 6:15 ready to go!!! TF looks way better than I thought it would. Now I have to figure out what to build next, Slave 1, Ferris Wheel, or start down the Modular rabbit hole!

  31. Built Destiny's Bounty from a lot I bought after completing with BL, the $20 to replace Skales hurt. Also built the Big Bang Theory living room that I picked up on sale at LEGO Shop at Home.

  32. My latest restoration project. This was a tough one. I had to do a fair amount of substitution because the large dark blue plates are non-existent. Only one of the substitute pieces is noticeable on the roof. Also the windshield wipers. I was able to hide the others pretty well. Before and after pictures showing what I got and the finished product. The stickers are high quality replacements I got from a guy in Australia.

  34. Build this over the last few days, picked it up for £300 so happy. Quicker build than I expected, but looks fantastic. Bit big though, doesn't fit on my shelf without removing the top section of the tower.

  35. Well I obviously FAIL at LEGO. Putting together my bricklinked 10212 (so having to use printed out instructions). My excuse is cheaping out on ink but I've got to the stand and seem to have 2 4x1 dark grey bits left when I actually require black ones. Worrying thing is I also have 2 x 1x6 dark grey ones in my pile as well which i'm sure shouldn't be right. Will I be OCD enough to take apart the shuttle and see where I went wrong? Absolutely epic model though and HUGE - dwarfs tiny Jango Santa. I'd heard the thing was big but I reckon it'll be the corner stone of my display. Fun build and I didn't actually find it repetitive at all. I knew it would be up there but having one put together its firmly in my top 5 sets. .

  36. Finally Finished this bad boy after building it little bit at time over the last week and half. This is my first big build and I am really digging these larger SW sets.

  37. I kind of doubt it. What makes a Super Hero set pricy after it retires is if it has an overwhelmingly popular character that won't appear in another set (Deadpool) or incredibly, unbelievably short shelf life (Ant-Man Final Battle.) Unless this set disappears from shelves in October, we're probably looking at Darkseid Invasion Pt. 2.

  39. Kids' bday today - Got executive permission to build something too, so we built: 41122 Adventure Camp Treehouse (still unfinished), 30398 Adventure Bridge (both my daughter's projects), 75102 Poe's X-Wing (my son) and 21303 Wall-E (me, yay!). My son, ever the charmer, wanted to give his sister a present too so he bought the Rey constractible from me that I got during the May the 4th sale at LEGO.com for $6.50 (no, I did not upcharge ). She built it immediately (Rey is her favorite SW character). Here's our breakfast nook during these festivities:

  43. When has a salesman ever said, "Relax buddy, you have at least another year to get this model"? We do the same when we sell "LAST ITEM!" to pressure the buyer into taking a snap emotional decision based on fear of missing out. I am done with buying everything (apart from for my personal collection) until the Autumn as I have too much stockpiled, holidays are coming and nothing retires in summer.
