  5. I made an announcement last week that you might not have seen that I have to basically completely rewrite everything based on changes in the data we get, so it's a work in progress. It will be straightened out over the next day or two. I have to change a ton of stuff. I do not know what you mean by the same for the Classified what "do not see any surplus anymore" means. It's a crap load of work I need to do and do it in stages. The new template for the price guide is a work in progress too that I was basically forced to make live early before getting it the way I want. Google has been barking at me for weeks because those other pages are not mobile friendly at all, etc, etc. Just give me a few more days to try and catch up. I wish I had all day to work on it, but now I need to switch gears and go to the office and work on totally different garbage.

  13. Believe me, I would be upset too. It's super annoying to me and must be even more so for the user. It will all be straightened out this week though. Features will be back, it will look better, be usable. Brickfolio pages will be updated next week hopefully with the addition of adding in sold profit numbers and stuff. So good things finally coming, I just need to make sure the data issues are sorted out. I had to let it run over night, that is the hard part, you don't get to see everything you need to instantly. I will really dig into it all tonight when I get home from work.

  19. Constitution Train @ eBay: $110 shipped * .86 (fees) - $10 shipping (avg) = $84.60 At $54 buy in (after tax): ($84.60 - $54) / $54 * 100% = 56.66% ROI ETA: Let's just say I spent $0 in gas since I was at Walmart to pick up groceries anyway

  21. If that turns out to be true BrickU, that's a good fine. But at the same time, I agree with dcdfan. I mean, currently when I click "Next >" to go to page 2 of exclusives it takes me back to the home page. I think it's more likely Shop at Home has exactly two developers and their favorite colors happen to be red and orange.

  25. On T1 Camper, you can buy it today in Belgium at Collishop (ref. Neosphinx pointer) at 84.99E - 15% (discount) - 5% (vouchers) = 68.63. Pretty close to the 65E I mentioned already. On the first 2 days of the seasonal promotion that is running now, the set was discounted on a red price at 73E. Personnel at Collishop isn't always aware of the interaction between red prices (adjustments between competing shop promotions) and their additional actions. So if you were sharp, you could have gotten that set at 73*0.85*0.95 = 59 euros. They have adapted when they saw the massive amounts of orders coming in. Belgium has become rather efficient unfortunately. (cfr remarks from Ciglione and Neosphinx who surely add to this efficiency :-)) And just to finish on the T1: this set is hugely popular. TLG has changed policy with these sets. There's no more 'automatic retirement'. So I will abstain predicting when this set would disappear. For now, it's all over every shop. Massively stocked. -> I flipped some SC to resellers rather fast after EoL this year at my target margin. I'm not buying this one - I'm selling it. -> My Lone Ranger sets are all sold except the Cavalry set of which I have a couple left. Mostly to part-outers in the US. Strange how I thought the smaller sets and the train would go fast, and in the end I got only half a prediction right -> I'm stuck with some Friends sets I have a hard time unloading. My mistake for getting drawn into Friends as much as my daughters ;-) In general, I don't agree with the statement that people give 'wrong' advise. My impression is that this community is full of good intentions and ideas, but probably too passionate on Lego to be sufficient skeptical on some sets. In my experience, passion can translate into bad investments. If you read all the blogs and remarks of the founders of this site, there's enough baggage to make some wise decisions. Note also that TLG warned on a lack of production capacity this year. They will not be able to fill all the Xmas orders! So there could be a good 'flipping' season for those who are willing to put some sets for sale. From 2016/7, lots of new capacity will come online, and the market risks to become oversupplied. So I'm trying to sell more than I'm buying. Best regards

  27. Found an I-Rex and a local WM in the clearance section with a pretty beat up box and had clearly been opened and re-sealed with shipping tape. Sticker priced at $60! So i thought there was probably definitely something wrong with it, but at $60 it was worth asking about. I walked around and found an employee in the toys department, and he claimed it was probably priced that low because the Dinosaur was missing and that they have had a lot of issues with the JW sets and Dinos "missing". So whatever, the rest of the set for $60 was still a deal to me. However when i got home the I-Rex was still in there, as were all of the bags/instructions. So yeah i have a new (but open box) IR at $60

  34. found these additional images on eBay. There is a 20% off a single item and it looks like a 15% off a single item coupon too. Guess its luck of the draw with which you get attached to the holiday catalog. It will be interesting to see the stacking this time around.

  36. Let's just put this out there... You can kiss it. You are one of the biggest problems on this site as you argue with everyone and backtrack on statement after statement. People here are fed up with you and your bull spit so if you don't like it, you get can get lost. Yes I said that. No I don't like you. I try to be patient but you are being an a**hole to mods and especially to other members. If you want we can arrange for your posts to go through an approval process. Despite what you think this isn't a democracy and Jeff and Ed ask us (the mall cops) to keep up with the threads and right the ship from time to time. If it was up to me if have banned your ass a long time ago for the way you "speak" to everyone here.

  37. Yes, but not because we think that someone will accidentally buy one. 1. Search hits lead shoppers to look at (and buy) other items you have listed. So having inventory listed at prices way above current averages can draw traffic. 2. If you have a large inventory, listing it with your target price allows you to "set it and forget it" rather than monitoring average prices on dozens of SKUs and listing when it gets close to your target. Parking them as active listings allows the market to catch up to your price at some point in the future. 3. The more sellers that have active items at their target price, the more likely that new sellers will list at higher prices if they research current listings. It creates a tendency to pull up the average price more quickly after retirement. That's why you usually see an immediate jump in price rather than a slow climb. In other words, you're unlikely to find a $100 RRP set selling for $105 after retirement (TRU excluded), but may see it jump from $100 to $150, then slow climb from there. 4. eBay generally offers large quantities of free fixed price listings to sellers, so there is negligible cost to have sets sit out there active for months.

  38. I don't mean this to be offensive to Tabby or anyone else, but any one of us who gets caught/banned or whatever, we really have no right to complain - or be shocked. We know the policies and risks, and we take chances playing with fire. Tabby, in particular - you bought 99 of one particular set. If you don't see that this is not something a normal consumer would do - I just can't really believe you are shocked and outraged. yes, maybe it took a long time for them to notice - But it's like a lot of things in life. Employers, businesses, governments, journalists, spouses, let little things go (and stack up, but keep notes) and then when they need a reason to - bammo. They have the ammo. So who knows why they didn't ban you before. But their policy clearly states they don't want to sell to resellers. They have targeted you as a reseller, which regardless of proof, is accurate. It's weird to me that people expect LEGO, simply because they are a company, to be blind deaf and dump and put up with stuff we as individuals would not. Similarly, someone who buys 99x of a $150 set, I don't think that makes you a small fry. That's a $15,000 purchase. That's a new car. It's not Emazers numbers, but it's "more than a side hobby" numbers. I'd bet $15,000 in a year is more than 90% of the people on this site spend. And again, this all HELPS US (except those who get caught, and really even those people). The fact that LEGO cares at all helps keep demand high and prices high, and prevents REAL big time guys (like the overseas knock off creators) from doing the same sort of thing en-masse. LEGO cares about their brand name and image. They, even more than all of us, have a very strong interest in keeping their product exclusive, expensive, and in demand. And as Ed mentioned, especially in Europe where they have already announced there will be shortages this year, I expect a crackdown on suspect/actual resellers.

  40. Regarding the loader, I picked one up during the last Technic special on Amazon (UK). I haven't opened it yet but my observations are: 1) Box is lite in comparison to AROCS 2) For the price, piece count is low. But likely due to all the power functions and licensing. 3) I saw the build video online and it looks like it was a very quick build while I prefer longer builds. 4) It constantly sells fur over $230 on eBay so could be a good flip if it can be picked up under $170 Also one more thing to note about investing in Technic, I believe it's an easier sell locally due to the lack of variety of current sets and people not being as knowledgable about buying with TRUTH. Just a thought.
