Finished the Bricktober sets from 2015 today with the TRU store. I am really surprised at the size difference between these and last year's sets but I much prefer the size of this year. I feel like the 2015 builds were more complex and used nicer bricks and in better colors. I took some photos of size for comparison. My favorite is the trains stain mostly because of the colors with the TRU store a very close second.

This set reminds me of the ugly girl/boy friend you had in high school, who you see 4 years later and wished you had stuck around.

Finished up my Bat-Pod tonight, but I messed up and ordered wrong on 2 pieces. Guess which ones? I now have another Bricklink order in.

Here's how i see this set. Some AFOL's want a set that non-lego fans will see and say, "WHOA,,,,that's Lego?" They want an impressive display piece. They want something that looks screen accurate. This is the ONLY set from the LOTR / Hobbit series that accomplishes most of those requirements. (maybe the Unexpected Gathering does at a smaller scale)

Honestly don't even sell them. Just find anyone who will take one and just get rid of it. The boxes have too many fall colors (it's almost winter), they take up too much shelf space, and it doesn't even come with a single hobbit, elf or dwarf minifigure. They're your whole demographic. This one is a stinkfest.

I wasn't trying to say hustle wasn't irrelevant... It takes a decent work ethic to find the best deals, to pack items well, to put effort into your listings, etc. I'm not questioning whether you work hard (you might, you might not.... not for me to decide) but even some people who work hard may not play fairly. Peyton Manning is revered as a nice guy who plays hard and works harder but is fair with everyone and everything. Tom Brady is a great football player, works hard, but got caught cheating and refuses to come clean. So what I was meaning is that regardless of how hard you work, in my mind it's not worth it if you abuse policies, coupons, discount programs because you've lost your integrity (and yes, that's my own subjective definition).

But Tommy keeps asking for another, and every time she just keeps giving them to him - as many as he wants. Come dinner time Tommy isn't hungry, and mommy is furious and outraged - So he is banned from the dinner table, for life.

Unfortunately, buying direct from LEGO to resell also violates their policies of selling to end consumers only. It's not about the hustle, it's about playing the game with integrity. Some will get it (Peyton Manning), others won't (Tom Brady).

Ok here is an update. Things have changed on how we get our data and the format that it is in. It seems that everyone in all the major companies are really either closing doors on data that is given out, or clamping down on how people share info. I have a bunch of code that I need to update in order to work with the new data. I need a few more days to work this out and make sure it's right. The good news is that, based on what I see, I hope that as everything moves forward, it will not need to be monthly updates. It could possibly make it's way to weekly updates, we will have to see. So if anyone asks where is the update, just point them to this post. I will try to get it out there as soon as I can.

This story has been all over the Internet in the past 24hrs. My kids are freaking. I told them no way will they get any of dad's sets for Xmas. So then my youngest pipes up "well Santa will still make Lego sets".

I believe a few people who haven't sold have gotten banned. Some rumors involve e-mail address matching/user name matching (LEGO Account, ebay account etc) - others simply involve volume purchased and assumption of selling.

From what we have seen in the EU, sets are restocked at weekly, fortnightly or less frequency, seemingly to a preplanned schedule. Each restock may not necessarily be a new production run. If there is unexpected demand for the item then the restock date pushes further and further back whereas if demand is lower than expected it comes forward. The default window is usually 30 days if no precise date is specified. Sold Out means there is no next restock in the system within the maximum alloted window (30 days). TooS means that something abnormal has happened - pehaps manual override. How convincing was that explanation?

Now that Episode 7 is approaching I thought it would be fun and informational if we share some of our favorite sets. What is your top 5-10 list of Star Wars sets of all time? Please include set names if you don't mind (for newer investors like me). Hopefully these lists will reveal some sets some of us have overlooked. My top 5 would probably be: 1. 10179 M. Falcon 2. 10188 Death Star 3. 10221 Super Star Destroyer 4. 75060 Slave 1 5. 10225 R2 6-10 would be Red 5, Ewok Village, Sandcrawler, Tantive IV, Darth Tie I'm probably missing out on some awesome older sets...hopefully some veteran collectors share their list of favorites.

Now I can see why they phoned in the Toy Shop.
