  1. I recently found this list, I think everyone should find it to be very helpful. It may only be correct a little more than half the time, but that should be good enough on which to base your future strategies.

  2. The chart only backs what I have been saying, LEGO has changed the way they retire sets and now adjust to sales. The horde has been extending production runs. With some sets, it might get to a point where even the horde can't save them, but the game has changed. I would recommend buying sets earlier if you want them to retire faster. This will be hard for many of you to put your arms around, but it could help bring back more stable retirement dates.

  12. I... I just wanted to make a really, reaaally long Holiday Train. I was going to run my Chrismas lights through them and hang the lines from my roof. It would've gone viral, Lego! It would've gone VIRAL! You're missing out on a great marketing opportunity by banning me!

  15. Decided to try some of the Architecture series lately (White House, Big Ben) and today built Falling Water. Build was fun though a little repetitive but I didn't mind. Finished model looks fantastic and they way the building comes apart is a very cool feature. I live near a Frank Lloyd Wright building (Marin County Civic Center) and have spent many hours there so it was fun to put together one of his creations. Looking forward to more of the Architecture series....

  17. From Wikipedia.. Occam's razor (also written as Ockham's razor and in Latin lex parsimoniae, which means 'law of parsimony') is a problem-solving principle devised by William of Ockham (c. 1287–1347), who was an English Franciscan friar and scholastic philosopher and theologian. The principle can be interpreted as: My hypothesis...If it sells...it stays.

  20. I think I'm most impressed & jealous that you guys receive orders so fast. Going to California, I never see a shipment sooner than a week. My 10/13 orders are scheduled for 10/20 & 10/21.

  23. IMO this should be a $200 set. No more than that. If it is. It will be a shelf warmer. Only people buying it it resellers and nostalgists with money.

  24. Sorry to hear this. But thanks for being honest about your purchase history. So many people get banned and they swear they only placed one order in the last six months or whatever. "Officer I swear I only had two beers. Just two..."

  26. It's very easy to do at Legoland, as well. If you remember back in January, the AT-DP Polybag (30274) was available, and sold out within 3 days, I think. In March, these showed up by the bucket full at Legoland California. And I'm not kidding by bucket full. They have these display "buckets" that have three tiers on them, by the registers. They're all over The Big Shop (the biggest retail store), but they are spread throughout the park. It was extremely easy to pick up that polybag by the 100s. That's not the only time that has happened, though. 30283 Off-Road polybag was available for awhile at Legoland, as well, in a similar situation. The Joker Bumper Car was there last month, too. Same thing. The Elves polybag was also the same way. There are about 8 retail locations throughout the park, and they are all very well stocked.

  27. A thorough analysis indicates support beams holding back a wall, which separates the planet material from the man made structure...almost like a dam. Also, a haze is seen around the perimeter of the "round thing," possibly indicating an atmosphere. It is also possible this weapon harnesses the inner core of the planet, thus the red/orange hue. I also do not see any lights on the rest of the "round thing," besides the ones near the main gun structure, so maybe it's built on just a small portion of a small planet. The surface also has haphazard formations indicating possible mountains or rough terrain. How's that? LOL

  28. So if it is indeed a Death Star like weapon built into this planet it still doesn't make much sense. It's not like they can target any planet they want at any time. It is immobile and subject to planetary rotation and probably has an impeded view of many star systems. I know trying to be realistic about a sci-fi movie is not a good match, but I think I will be disappointed if the remnants of the Empire are up to their same old tricks again after all these years. I would have expected another course of action, but again I'll wait to see how this plays out.

  30. This set is out of every logic... why to produce so big set for a 30 years old movie? Why not something more recent, for example LOTR, which MOCs have often thousands votes in Ideas? Ghostbusters is not so strong theme, to make 1 standard Ideas set is more than enough. TLG usually tries to decrease the number of bricks as much as possible to make the set more available, and immediately they produces such extreme big set - it is just simple building, it is not necessary to make 4000+ bricks for it. Why they doesnt make a landmark or modular in this scale? For example Sydney opera, which suffer a lack of bricks and therefore it doesnt look so good (mainly the curvatures are horrible). I dont understand at all.

  37. Longevity of an acct doesn't mean squat when you are abusing their policies. Every time you order over the limit you are dancing with the devil. I'm not a good dancer btw
    2 points
  38. Why? Because they can. You may think I'm being funny or snarky, but go back and read the Lego Ban thread. If they believe you are a reseller, or that you are abusing their system, they will ban you. You placed 14 separate orders in 2 days, trying to get that train. Yes I get that their system allowed you to do it. But the terms are 1 train per household. There are plenty of people on this board that have been banned from LEGO Shop at Home for buying within the limits. It's more than just staying within the limits - its patterns of behavior.
