  5. Dropped $700 on a large lot comprised of Harry Potter UCS Batmobile, and Skyline. The skyline and Batmobile appear to be complete- need to sort and double check. Most of the bags are unopened and they are in the boxes. The Harry Potter stuff is all a mess- gonna take me a long time to sort. There is also castle parts and lots of minifigures. Also some dinosaurs but I am still trying to find the legs and arms for them.

  6. I love that my post office is closer to my parking spot at work then my desk. In the morning, when I've got things to ship out, I take them over to the post office before walking into my office. Even better, it's a post office of one postal employee - she's awesome. She knows me by name, and knows I have a little bit of intelligence. We can say "it's the usual" so we don't have to do the standard post office dance. Since she knows I'm selling Lego, and she knows it's eBay, she scans my stuff immediately. She's always trying to get me out the door. Best thing - none of the packages I ever send out from there ever show up damaged. So I know she's making sure things are getting out of her place in great shape.

  12. Here's an article that contains the first look of the cast from the new STAR WARS: Rogue One. After reading the article, it made me think that we will see Darth Vader again...and the old X-Wing...and the Death Star...and the Imperial Star Destroyer...and the Super Star Destroyer...and the...

  13. Wonderful! Or one could open an extra PC and make one twice as big. So you can put all the posters and do not have to choose!

  15. My son got hooked on their show and I started watching. They helped propel me out of the dark ages. Their reviews are fun, entertaining, and informative. My son's vocabulary actually improved from the show because Jason and Stephen present the sets to a wide audience and don't talk to the camera like children. I appreciate that. My son actually knew what translucent and torso meant before he turned 4 thanks to the Brickshow I highly recommended this show for anyone with kids into LEGO. Adults will enjoy it too.

  16. The Brick Show has a huge following and does a great job with each video. An excellent resource to research sets before you buy them.

  18. Oh, I'm not disagreeing with that. I figure if the guy is "kid" age, he probably doesn't care if he was rude, or care if jkris shops there or not. But he'll probably share his story online.

  19. And on another forum somewhere, that kid is writing his "customers suck" story

  20. I'm not sure if this answers your question, but in the Brickfolio "Add Brickfolio item" tab, there is an option to add a custom item, with all the normal information associated with the Brickfolio, along with the addition of a name for the item. I've heard of people using this option for things like LEGO displays, or other custom jobs.

  22. The point was that some people were down on the Town Hall last week when it leveled off in price. Rarely is a set straight up. There are peaks and valleys and plateaus. The AA is a quality set that will appreciate well given time. The counterfeits could hurt the set though, but not as much as other Superhero sets. I like the Superhero sets but most are only valuable because of their mini figures. Take that away and you have a very average set in most cases.

  23. I did build The Detectives Office yesterday and today. I wanted to build a modular for quite some time now and finally did buy this one as my first modular (I own others but didn't build them). Next one I want to build is either Pet Shop (as long as it is still available... even though I already do own some for investment...) or the Parisian Restaurant. (Actually I'd prefer building PR but PS will be first to retire so I'll probably go for that one. Also it fits nicer to DO). Sorry for the quality of the pictures! Right now we have Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper preparing some cookies (come to the dark side... we have cookies!) while another stormtrooper is stormpooping. Outside Marty McFly is being chased by Dr. Hibbert (inside of the big super secret police car) and Batman is on the roof together with the cat(maybe woman...). The other minifigs that belong to the set are hanging out at The Highlanders, the detective is in his office (won't he smell the cookies as soon as he goes out on the floor??? o.O) and the police woman is getting her hair done at AL'S (by Al the barber...). DO and PR (the newest modulars) are the best ones right now if you ask me. After putting together this one I just can recommend it to everyone! I guess in time I'll buy a second one to add another floor.

  29. I'm sure you are a smart person, and just because one might see stormtroopers going $5 each on ebay, you would not kid yourself into thinking you'll find a buyer to give you $2000 for this lot... we all know that's not going to happen right? Priced fairly (less than ebay), I'm sure you'll find a buyer on brickclassifieds.com and pay the lowest commission there. You might also consider breaking them into lots of 50 or 100. I've seen lots of 50 go for about $200 on ebay recently. (search ebay "sold items" star wars minifigures "lot of 50") brickclassifieds.com

  30. No offense, but this thread is in serious need of housekeeping. It used to be for posting of Lego official retirement announcements, that was it. If this thread had new content, you could bet you'd be reading about retired sets. Yes, my post needs removed, too. Perhaps a mod can clean this thing up. We have many other threads to discuss speculation, markets, etc. I've actually been quite busy, lately, and haven't had nearly as much time to read and contribute to BP. But, I do check a few threads, including this one, just to track my portfolio and stay on top of market developments. Please keep this one on topic.

  31. If you sell all of the Deepstone Ninja figs and their weapons/accesories as a lot on eBay and the other 4 new exclusives and 2 remakes individually you should come close to covering 75% of the cost of the set if you are early to market.

  40. Here's what i'd like to see: UCS Vehicles: AT-AT (299.99)Republic Gunship (299.99)X-34 Landspeeder (129.99)UCS General Grievous Wheelbike (129.99)Large UCS environement sets (250-300.00) Cloud CityDegobah with Yoda's Hut, Giant Trees, and Swamp SlugCantina (lots of aliens, anything less than 15 minifigs would be a dissapointment)Jabbas Palace done right, but built in a similar fashion to the 2012-13 sets (once again, at least 10 to 15 minifigs with a Jabba and Rancor)

  42. When the teaser trailer for TFA came out and we saw a desert planet, everyone assumed Tattooine; now we know it is actually Jakku. The base may be 'Echo base', but it doesn't mean it has to be Hoth. Regardless, I will end up buying it. Pulling back to the UCS wish list, what about a lightsaber? Seriously, just make a detailed, foot-long saber handle with styling specific to an important character. Universal Studios theme park sells the custom wands of all the Harry Potter characters - why can't I buy different saber handles for Darth Vader, Count Dooku, and Luke? Allow for 'blade' mounting of transparent, tinted bricks with lighting elements inside, and design the handle to allow for a battery power box. How many of the new red saber with the two crossguard mini-blades would they sell with the opening of this movie?
