Dropped $700 on a large lot comprised of Harry Potter UCS Batmobile, and Skyline. The skyline and Batmobile appear to be complete- need to sort and double check. Most of the bags are unopened and they are in the boxes. The Harry Potter stuff is all a mess- gonna take me a long time to sort. There is also castle parts and lots of minifigures. Also some dinosaurs but I am still trying to find the legs and arms for them.3 points

I love that my post office is closer to my parking spot at work then my desk. In the morning, when I've got things to ship out, I take them over to the post office before walking into my office. Even better, it's a post office of one postal employee - she's awesome. She knows me by name, and knows I have a little bit of intelligence. We can say "it's the usual" so we don't have to do the standard post office dance. Since she knows I'm selling Lego, and she knows it's eBay, she scans my stuff immediately. She's always trying to get me out the door. Best thing - none of the packages I ever send out from there ever show up damaged. So I know she's making sure things are getting out of her place in great shape.3 points

Here's an article that contains the first look of the cast from the new STAR WARS: Rogue One. After reading the article, it made me think that we will see Darth Vader again...and the old X-Wing...and the Death Star...and the Imperial Star Destroyer...and the Super Star Destroyer...and the...2 points

Wonderful! Or one could open an extra PC and make one twice as big. So you can put all the posters and do not have to choose!2 points

My son got hooked on their show and I started watching. They helped propel me out of the dark ages. Their reviews are fun, entertaining, and informative. My son's vocabulary actually improved from the show because Jason and Stephen present the sets to a wide audience and don't talk to the camera like children. I appreciate that. My son actually knew what translucent and torso meant before he turned 4 thanks to the Brickshow I highly recommended this show for anyone with kids into LEGO. Adults will enjoy it too.2 points

The Brick Show has a huge following and does a great job with each video. An excellent resource to research sets before you buy them.2 points

Oh, I'm not disagreeing with that. I figure if the guy is "kid" age, he probably doesn't care if he was rude, or care if jkris shops there or not. But he'll probably share his story online.2 points

And on another forum somewhere, that kid is writing his "customers suck" story2 points

I'm not sure if this answers your question, but in the Brickfolio "Add Brickfolio item" tab, there is an option to add a custom item, with all the normal information associated with the Brickfolio, along with the addition of a name for the item. I've heard of people using this option for things like LEGO displays, or other custom jobs.2 points

The point was that some people were down on the Town Hall last week when it leveled off in price. Rarely is a set straight up. There are peaks and valleys and plateaus. The AA is a quality set that will appreciate well given time. The counterfeits could hurt the set though, but not as much as other Superhero sets. I like the Superhero sets but most are only valuable because of their mini figures. Take that away and you have a very average set in most cases.2 points

I did build The Detectives Office yesterday and today. I wanted to build a modular for quite some time now and finally did buy this one as my first modular (I own others but didn't build them). Next one I want to build is either Pet Shop (as long as it is still available... even though I already do own some for investment...) or the Parisian Restaurant. (Actually I'd prefer building PR but PS will be first to retire so I'll probably go for that one. Also it fits nicer to DO). Sorry for the quality of the pictures! Right now we have Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper preparing some cookies (come to the dark side... we have cookies!) while another stormtrooper is stormpooping. Outside Marty McFly is being chased by Dr. Hibbert (inside of the big super secret police car) and Batman is on the roof together with the cat(maybe woman...). The other minifigs that belong to the set are hanging out at The Highlanders, the detective is in his office (won't he smell the cookies as soon as he goes out on the floor??? o.O) and the police woman is getting her hair done at AL'S (by Al the barber...). DO and PR (the newest modulars) are the best ones right now if you ask me. After putting together this one I just can recommend it to everyone! I guess in time I'll buy a second one to add another floor.2 points

I watched a few of their videos in the past. I found their catchphrase (when they growl the words "THE BRICKSHOW") rather off putting. Perhaps that sounded cool in the ears of 8-12 year olds (their main demographic), but just not my thing Also, in some videos you could tell they were just dead tired when making the videos. I preferred Jangbricks since his videos looked and sounded "professional"1 point

I agree. I just wish it wasn't so hideous. I know that means nothing based on 21103 but if it looked more like 8272, I'd be all over it.1 point

Random story about these R2 sets... I had 5 mint sealed boxes that I put away in my storage room. I left them in the lego store bags but had them piled up on top of each other laying flat. My sister's idiot boyfriend had to get to the breaker box in the room and moved a bunch of my other sets all on top of this lone 5 stack. He said they all felt light but I had to angrily explain that 5 pounds alone is light, but when you keep adding 5 more pounds, it gets heavy very fast. As you can see where this story is going, he managed to box crush every single mint R2 I had. I about had a heart attack and screamed in rage when I saw them like that. Had a single one been spared I would not be that mad because it would be the one I keep sealed indefinitely for myself, but then again this is a very valuable lesson that if you want to keep something nice then you need to not be lazy and properly store away your stuff. You just never know when some non-investor idiot will come around and ruin your stuff.1 point

Between being the first completely original design to be released as a CUUSOO/IDEAS set by a master MOCer of established renown who even helped go over the final design process alongside LEGO's own designers and the only set (possibly ever) to include two astronauts based on the classic Space line in never done before green attire, this will find its marks however niche that may be. I suppose seeing how the characters are 'classic' styled yet the build is far from can seem like a contradiction and ends up posing an interesting conundrum.1 point

I tinkered with the "B" pillars and undid the changes since the minifigs in the rear seats couldn't fit with Scooby in the center. In order to make this work these elements would need to prob be used : "4865 : Panel 1 x 2 x 1" and "47905 : Brick, Modified 1 x 1 with Studs on 2 Sides" with to create a SNOT design but it's tough to get Medium Azure in these types of elements (if at all). I applied the stickers and the van is looking better. I do need one sticker for each of the sides still. Heck, even my dog wants to play with it.1 point

Exo Suit is not for the faint of heart... well stocked by resellers, available longer than a lot of other IDEAS sets, etc. This is one of those put it away for 2-3 years and literally forget about it. Find them in 2018-2019 and you'll probably have a smile on your face. $20/each is a pretty good deal though. - How can you determine if a set is rare? You can't until it happens. - How can you determine if it will increase in value? You can't until it happens. We try to make edumacated guesses based on the past performance of similar sets. Sometimes the rarity smacks you in the face (41999, Research Institute) and other times it happens when you least expect it (Curiosity Rover). As for value, the set has to be desirable to increase in value. Take for example a flagship Technic set like the MKII or Volvo Loader. These are some of the biggest and best Technic sets out there... Until LEGO makes new ones (if ever) these things are likely to increase in value just like the motorized Excavator and Bulldozers which haven't been remade. But if you look at City police sets, they don't tend to do as well because LEGO remakes them every year. This is where the "at a discount" comment comes in though - at the right discount, money can still be made because they next year's sets may be more expensive, not as good, and likely won't see steep discounts until the end of their shelf life. This is all information that exists somewhere on the forums & articles in much more detail. Happy reading!1 point

Being the curious type, I snuck a peak at the Brickpicker graphs for this set. It really is interesting and uninteresting at the same time. It really hasn't behaved that differently from other large sets in that: price took off after retirement demand at xmas was exceptionally good which drove prices higher price stabilized as people begin to unload their stock (obviously we don't really know how much is out there) For stock, I often look at Bricklink to see how much is listed... AA is roughly: Sold 42 units in the last 6 months (eBay sold 126 over the 5 available .. July not out yet) Avg selling price $272 (pretty consistent with BP) Total available is 275 I know there is plenty more out there, but lots of folks on BL post at higher prices (avg is $435) and just let them sit. Nothing earth shattering that's for sure... just another same old story in my books. I picked up an single extra one about a month ago for about 5% above MSRP and I'll keep it until 2016 unless demands shoots this Xmas. Folks who rush may make a few bucks but they also always seem stressed. Not something I'm interested in being - stressed!1 point

I am not a fan of this set due to its extreme violence it can cause and by violence i mean getting beat up by a ten year old boy if i stick to our agreement to not open $200 sets. I can already predict my logical/financial rationale will be met with extreme hostility so really this set is gonna cost me $400 in reality. Ugh1 point
