  2. Hello Guys, just went before 2 weeks to the Legoland Bilkund, and clean out the R2's. It a was amazing and stupid situation ;). Four adults with 13 R2's on the cash counter. People looked and thought stupid germans or anything else. It was a thrill!

  4. Great looking set. My family like the movie as well. It's one of those movies that starts slow, but if you give it a chance, it really is well done IMO. The more I watched it, the more I liked and appreciated it.

  8. TLG bean counters may be smarter than us. By sacrificing a single set (TH) they have guaranteed a half decade of resellers and collectors buying the market dry afraid of missing the next TH. Bravo TLG, bravo.

  10. You're kidding me right? This is one of the most classic films ever made. It crosses the bridge to where even adults loved this film. This film is far from looking "dated".

  11. Hate that bloody movie, WALL-E, Eva, WALL-E, Eva, shut up and end the bloody movie dammit. Rant over, thanks for reading. Actually, rant's not over, you know what's worse, my wife loved it and always wants to watch it if it's on the tv, grrrrrr.

  12. Favorite part of filming this set is all the mini figures that can be piled onto all the other pirate sets. Worst part of the set is that the pieces don't fit under the board even though LEGO made it seem like that would be an option. Bonus is the I reenacted a famous game from years ago (aka - Game of the Century).

  13. I thought this would be a fun topic to start. Mods, if you feel differently then please feel free to delete it. We have all heard or been a part of the same story. You spent a bunch of money on some "toys", with the intention of reselling them in the future for more than what you paid for them. Meanwhile, your spouse was ready to have you committed to the looney bin, until you bought them this with some of your profits. I'll start... We have had a pool since we bought our home twelve years ago. Wisconsin winters can be a bit harsh, and this past winter Mother Nature decided that it was time for our old pool to go. She had her way with it, and reduced it to a pile of scrap. Our kids, who are nine and eight, were pretty upset about it, and my wife didn't feel like dipping into savings to buy a new one, so the Lego fund came to the rescue. We just had it installed three weeks ago, fully funded from Lego profit. Now my wife doesn't give me the old fish eye when she comes home and finds several packages on the doorstep. Does anyone else have any fun stories to share?

  14. Retailing for $39.99 on release around August later in the year is the skyward elf Aira's ride carried away by swift horsepower of two gracious Pegasi all made from 319 pieces. (Yes I full realize there really is not a plural to Pegasus same as Phoenix considering both stories only had one in existence but that is another of those debates with no end.)

  18. I would be interested to know which ones are actually selling. If you filter by sold listings, you might be surprised. Most unretired sets I see are selling for retail price, to the point I wonder how they make a profit with shipping + eBay fees. Well, I know how, they live in the states where they can fish around for more than 20% off + discounted gift cards + membership cards/visa/points and sometimes, but rarely, craigslist/garage sales. Without all that work, and proximity, I find non-retired sets to be useless to sell. Unless you get it 50% off, it ain't worth the fees and effort. Long holds are the way to go.

  19. One can hope. I would be happy with S3 being a $75. Including shipping, Series 1 has gone down from $115 avg to $100 pretty regularly. Sets of 3 seem to sell better than full sets of 9 and that seems to be the best way for all mixels. Series 2 is at $80 and Series 4 is already beating series 3. I bumped my mixels on ebay up with 30 days listed. I'm not in a rush to sell but I won't sell for less than I want and if we all bumped our prices, undercutters wouldn't have to go so low and prices will go up quicker. Personally I just want to be out of the mixels game. There is still money to be made but not near as much as before. I got a set of S4 Glowkies for $1.98 using my $10 VIP rewards at Delaware lego shop. I will sell for $25 or so in a couple months but other than that, I'm not buying any more mixels.

  21. i have a few sets that also have the spanish wordings on it. Not a lot but just some, don't think their is anything to worry about. Like some of the guys here mentioned before, Lego do target different markets at times and productions do change if necessary.

  22. Poison Ivy at worst was an eco-terrorist obsessed with preserving the environment. Miley Cyrus looks like a coke addict (five letter word for a "shamelessly promiscuous girl"). Let's see, the killer feminist hippie or the crack *bleep*.

  23. Yeah, they were fun and cute. It would be nice to see the Bizarro here included with a future set. Maybe even Bizarra. ("Pretty, pretty, princess!" ) There is although to me she still looks more like Julie Newmar's Catwoman or Josie from The Pussycats. Man, I really want some minifigures based on the 1960s Batman TV series.

  24. Unless we get a miracle from Dimensions or a D2C set from shop at home, then no, the line is over. Believe me, I'm as bummed as you that they failed on so many levels with that theme but did make some nice stuff. The lack of everything Gondor is a kick in the gentlemen.

  27. After seeing his post I thought "wouldn't it be cool if I checked CL because of his post and made a big score too and then posted about it. glorious!" so I went out an checked CL. Mind you, I havent been there for a long time. Pages of absolute reseller crap. Mountains of crap. Dump lots of crap. Selling NIB stuff that just released and isn't sold out. CL in my area is a cesspool of bad resellers. I am happy I was buying bulk before this happened.

  29. I try to use 6x9 as they fit polybags better (you only have to roll one edge over a bit) but that was just an example link. I don't do a lot of small items, so I tend to buy in bundles of 50. I know it costs more, but I just don't have the space to store 1000 padded envelopes. Not sure how it works in the US, but in Canada a 5x7, 6x9 or 5x10 are all considered oversized and cost $1.90 for non-tracked regular mail anywhere in Canada. They also all qualify as Light Packet USA which is $5.25, no tracking. For tracking in Canada, I've never managed to get a padded enveloped tracked for less than $12 (any tips would be gladly accepted) and I think tracked to the US starts at $8 - maybe more? With the low margins on these small items, I don't usually bother with tracking. I've had very good luck so far.

  30. my recommendation would be any of the Kraft : #0000 (5" X 7" ) it would work for mini-figures. { for the polybags you have to fold hence better to not use these. but its your preference } if you are moving large volume then its better to buy in bulk (like 500 or 1000) from ebay. sometimes you may find on etsy.com as well. before you buy a lot buy small quantity from a seller and see what kind of bubble mailer you get. then decide on the quantity. ( i am very picky (i have had some really bad experience with the quality over time. especially with staples. their price is very high ~$70/500 regular. on top of that quality has deteriorated very much). staples ones looks so cheap and the padding is less than 1/16". may be in canada its different but i am not going to buy from them even @ 70% off.... i use http://www.ebay.com/usr/hypernyx?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754 but of course (i am in US). price may not be the cheapest but i have gotten to like this envelop. very nice quality. nice texture on the paper/color. { disclaimer: i am not getting commission or kickback from the seller. its just my genuine feedback }

  31. Not relevant?! <scoff> ... the movie was visionary. Remember, " ... the ship's log is showing that today is the 700th anniversary of our five year cruise. ... So, be sure next mealtime to ask for your "Free Septuacentennial Cupcake In A Cup"! Wow, look at that. ..." It was a silly joke when the movie aired. Now Steak-n-Shake, Zaxby's, everyone has a "birthday cake" milkshake! So ahead of it's time.

  32. Padded envelopes all the way for me... You can sometimes find a better deal online, but the bulky shipping often means finding them locally at Staples can be just as cheap or even cheaper. If you're planning on using lots, might want to just get a case. http://www.staples.ca/en/Pull-Tape-Bubble-Mailer-5-x-10-250-Case/product_687365_2-CA_1_20001

  33. As a long time buyer of high end used LEGO sets, the box will not make it sell any quicker. What will sell your item are pictures of a completed SSD with all the pieces and instructions in very good condition. Personally, I buy these large and expensive used sets all the time to build and I rarely crack open a MISB set (unless it's for my son). These sets are bought to build and many buyers don't care about the box. Just my 2 cents...

  35. I sold the dinged up ones from Target delayed BF delivery. I still have a dozen. I'm sure this set will do well long term but between Jokerland, Arkham, the better earlier Batcave and whatever else comes out next year when the movie comes out, there is a lot of competition for the Batman aftermarket LEGO $. Still, it's the freakin' batcave. nuf said. done. etc.

  43. I think that - for anyone who is not from the US - the Lego investing could be extremely challenging. This is something I often think about, but after reading Gondorian's posts, I thought to share my feelings with you all. As a foreword, I am a sales executive (I am in the wine business), and I travel abroad a lot. USA is one of my most frequent destinations. This to say that I have a deep knowledge of selling techniques (and I deal with Americans a lot ). Said so, whilst I think I am an experienced "seller", I still did not figure out how to make decent and constant profits with Lego in my country (Italy). Our market is infinitesimally smaller than US market in general, and for Lego in particular. We have a plethora of unsuccesful Ebay auctions, because the lack of demand is not driving prices down to more reasonable levels. Sellers are just asking A LOT of money for sets nobody is going to buy at that price. I am not talking about the iconic sets we all know, but even smaller or more recent sets are just too expensive. Furthermore, the only and unique source of reasonable discounts (30% or more) is Amazon.it. We are missing the "crazy" (for our standards) discounts the US fellows are having almost daily. We are missing Target, Walmart, and the other big and aggressive retailers. B&M clearances do happen, but it is totally random, so, the chances of getting profit from smart buys are fairly limited. The other point is that Lego Movie in Italy was not as succesful as in other countries, and we all know this helped US sales a lot. Finally, I think that European investors should look at US investors profits, resources, storage rooms and inventories in a detached way, otherwise we would just buy too much, and sell too little. We are not selling in the US, and we have to deal with it with no regrets...just a little bit of envy I know that there are other Italians and EU members here, and I would like to hearing their opinion too. Ciao!

  44. +1. As an eBayer who uses the site as a business platform, it is your job to leave feedback. It literally takes 10 seconds per transaction. Frankly, if a seller didn't leave feedback after I purchased from him/her, I would never deal with them again.
