No there is not. Political discussions are generally ... well ... not allowed. That forum is for (mostly) less volatile topics like video games, movies, and other stuff that can related to hobbies and such.3 points

I always liked the fable about the dog and his reflection in the water... something about bones. As far as supply and demand goes, the price is affected by perceived drop in demand. It's all speculation and too much emotion right now. This is the way of the stock market as well. Stick to your plans and leave the emotions on the shelf.2 points

Shipping cost to Spain is only 21 USD - you might be able to sell the product cheap but why would you subsidise shipping too? One way of catching scammers might be to see if they took the time to calculate foreign shipping accurately - very low values could set off alarm bells.2 points

I disagree. Keep in mind the RI has already doubled in price here down under. Smaller, popular sets tend to increase in price faster than larger ones. Look at the RI compared to the GE for example. They also sell faster due to a cheaper price point. I do, however agree that being a part of a theme has its appeal. By way of illustration, the Mixer will probably do better eol now that the Ferris wheel has come out.2 points

New Elementary posted a link on their facebook page to a huge update of new parts which were recently added to the Brickset database. This includes completely new elements, and existing elements in new colors.LINK: http://brickset.com/parts/new-03-06-2015I also did some analysis to see which parts are most interesting for fellow LEGO Architecture enthusiasts, especially folks like myself who enjoy the LEGO Architecture Studio set.I hope you find the new bricks interesting; I know I did. I'm especially interested in the new transparent plate with pin, which has a lot of potential uses.---tom2 points

Why are you worried? here's some comments made earlier about LEGO DELOREAN in that thread - Delorean is doing better than average at more than 2x MSRP on amazon and ebay 6 months post EOL. Delorean was discounted a long time and is cheaper. Both of these things lend it to being more hoarded. Ecto has never been discounted and costs more so might be less hoarded. I am expecting even better performance from ecto than the delorean. The day ECTO goes out of stock, the price on ebay will be $75 just to cover fees and shipping and will go up quickly from there. This set is targeted right at AFOL's with money. I don't expect this to go out of stock until December at the earliest and probably more like February based on Delorean longevity. But you never know....2 points

jeez. sauromosis beat me to it. at least i can list the sets with USD and CAD prices. ha Hoth Bricks has published the official set names of the upcoming LEGO Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens sets that are scheduled to be released on Force Friday, September 4th. We already knew the set numbers, the pricing, and number of pieces for the sets which came from BZPower but it’s nice to get confirmation of the set names now. I had a Sony PSP (original version) years ago with SW:Battlefront. It wasn't too different from the regular PS version of the game except there was a single-player Imperial Sniper campaign where you had to put down rebellions. Two of the levels I played most often: sniper head shots on Gungans and Ewoks.1 point

Not hardly. I don't know why I am responding to this, perhaps to help the six people that don't already know, this show has two things PoP didn't: Fans and Quality. I got a little worn out on it 2-3 years ago but that doesn't mean it is not any good. In fact, I would say BBT, the Marvel movies, and Lego are the three driving forces in America making geekery cool these days. You can borrow some from Lord Business and make it right!1 point

This makes me think.... Of all the "updated" vehicles that are already known in the new movie (xwing, tie) I hope the vehicle that shows up in unchanged form is the AT-AT. I believe there was concept art of a crashed at-at being used as a hideout, but I hope we see a live one in its un-updated glory.1 point

I'm just wondering why LEGO would release a set based on an The Empire Strikes Back a month or so before the release of The Force Awakens, with the new movie sets already on the market? I don't believe it is a "rebel" base at all. From the looks of the movie trailer, the new bad guys...The First Order...has the base on an ice planet.1 point

Not sure anyone really reported demise, but I admit I was one who thought it was probably gone - twice now. 21R5 seals in a local store yesterday.helped convince me otherwise. I was really going to buy it, too...1 point

This set was still available on the shelf yesterday. However the store said it was going soon. Take that with a grain of salt as usual.1 point

I just built the Flying Phoenix Fire Temple for the book pictures and it is quite an impressive set. Minifigures are very cool.1 point

"Dad can I get the CHIMA phoenix temple? The mini figs are so cool!" "Come on Son! I've taught you better than that. The CAGR of that CHIMA set is pathetic! You're getting a Parisian Restaurant and that's final! And if those instructions get ripped, you're grounded!"1 point

There's that word again. "Heavy." Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the Earth's gravitational pull?1 point

Craigslist score of a lifetime. Loads of old pirate, including black seas barracuda, looks complete except for sails Loads of black falcon, forest men era castle. Loads of old town sets. Everything is clean and even semi sorted. Nicest lot at the best price so far. No mega blocks, q tips, or used chewing gum.1 point

A prequel where they show the birth of the hero of the original movies and that hero has mystical powers. Who would ever come up with such a daft idea?1 point

Given that LOTR is over and SW is about to be born again and all leaked details and characters are signs point to not sucking, I'd rank that list Red 5, Red 5,Red5. Ok, not quite that extreme but I don't think you want to be caught under your goal on Red 5 and seems like the set that will pop the quickest and has been hardest to come by of late - at least round these parts. I've decided Red 5 is even a set worth getting banned over so I have 3 on back order at the moment. Don't underestimate the power of the force awakening in a crop of new 1%er SW kid fans and the synergy resulting with their nostalgic parents/grandparents to blow vast wads of cash on sold out or very hard to find UCS SW-themed LEGO sets. Would be nice to have a few bonus Red5s stashed just in case, we get a year with GDP of 4-5% and some wage inflation. Once Red 5 is really past the F5 stage of panic, and listed as SOLD OUT , & darrin gets done buying all the low hanging fruit, this set will be just like all the rest of the recent wave of retired UCS SW sets. . Of course you could go the contrarian route and corner the market on ToO and still have the same happy ending . Everyone wins with these sets. Just some will win more than others.1 point

My sleeper pick: Birds (21301). Great little set, $45 MSRP. I can easily see this going to $200+, or higher if a series-2 gets released. Theme is very much AFOL, and future AFOL fans will want this, very much. It's been an instant sell-out at the stores, and stock is low. For the very reasons that many here overlook it, that gives it that much more of a chance to be non-hoarded and hence rare upon EOL.1 point
