  3. Geez...what does that even mean? Are you the CEO of B&Noble? Or are you a cashier. Do your job. Scan it. If it works, then it's supposed to work. Because someone much higher than your pay grade, with a permanent position in the company, programmed those machines to accept what it's supposed to accept. Glad you walked away. I wouldn't have time to deal with that either. Although, that would tempt me to complain to the people above her about her crappy customer service.

  8. I Build inconsistently (whenever I fell like it) I Built 10246 detective office which I've been building since I've got it in January lol. Right after I started building my half sealed 10184 town hall (I built the cinema when I got it in 2009) I built the gas station and vehicle (1 and 2 bags) in a Few hours.

  17. My last one was delivered to my door for $204 CDN. With the reverse exchange, that should land somewhere around $160... Don't forget the advertised price always includes VAT which is only removed during the checkout phase so £127 drops to something like £110 at checkout <don't remember the exact but it was something like that>..

  18. Just wondering where you guys have been seeing this for £100 GBP/$150? i see it at £127 on amazon, haven't seen it go much cheaper than that anywhere, and all of these promo discounts aren't very widespread in Europe.

  19. I see parallels between 8043 and 42030. The latter being branded may help it appreciate quicker. If 42030 goes in the first year of production then all bets are off and this may be a $400+ set by X-Mas 2016. You say so what retail is $250. Entry price is everything with technic sets. My entry for 13 sets remains at ~150.00/set. All I see if dollar signs. Just my opinion. Each of those sets (8043 42030) are packed with power functions (main driver of initial technic value). There is a certain cool factor in a front loader (often on US TV gold rush) Maybe not a volvo but construction equipment has been highlighted a lot in the last couple of years. 8043 2+ years after retirement is a clean double (40%+ CAGR highly dependent on your entry price). Maybe 42030 will not not retire this year, maybe my money can spent better elsewhere...opportunity costs? Perhaps. I like a diversified group of sets. That is part of my strategy. My vote is to include 42030 in a diversified investment plan.

  20. Does anyone have a quick idea of how many months or how many coupon cycles the lego exclusion has been in effect? I think enough times to tell the cashier that "this exclusion has been on the last 14 coupons, but still the registers are being programmed to accept it on architecture sets from the puzzle department while they manage to keep the new sets updated in the toys department. So either who is reponsie for updating the POS databases for all of the stores nationwide is completely unaware of these sets -- which is highly doubtful by now -- or they really want these sets to be treated as puzzles with the coupon applied and would be extremely surprised to find out that cashiers at the local level are purposely applying their own agenda to thwart the customer's use of their paid Member perks." l'll be more than happy to write a letter of recommendation to your corporate customer service department -- asking them to nominate you for a division recognition for coupon policy watchdog."

  21. I don't claim to have reliable sources, but my most reliable sources tell me this is "gone" by the end of this year also. On the other hand, it is getting more difficult to figure things out with the horde acting like a starving pack of hyenas lately...

  22. FYI DS was on sale last year too with 15% in the EU. DS is the LEGO set that defies everything we know about the firm's policies and production cycles. That's why people shouldn't conclude anything based on a DS anomaly. That set lives its own life.

  24. I'll be away for a week (going away bush for the next 7 days) but I'll leave you all with a juicy bit of info as a present Santa's Workshop hasn't been retired and will be a Toyworld exclusive WEF JUN 15. I seen a poster in store today advertising its arrival. PR will also be available Jun as well.

  25. I had to vote for The Mine because DS will become unavailable at retail first, but not actually RETIRE until years later... The other three will simply never happen!

  26. Perhaps this has been mentioned, but methinks there will definitely be a series 3. Too many characters are notably absent, with the most obvious ones being Moe, Skinner and Barney. Others that I'd like to see are Rainier Wolfcastle, Lenny and Carl and Lionel Hutz.

  30. I managed to find these at a target. Fresh case, and looks like we had the first pick from a few cases that were put out. Time was short, so we smooshed through a few bags and managed to find about 6 unique ones. Then, I grabbed 10 more random bags, knowing that I was certain to get a few doubles. After we got home, we found we had 11 unique figures, but 3 extra Grounds Keeper Willies, and 1 extra Homer. Amazingly, most of the ones we didn't locate in the first round are 5 to a case, including Bart, which is my least desirable of the line. Not bad, I guess.

  34. If there really was an age problem, they should have just rejected the young man from entering the outlet to begin with instead of this where an hour passes before someone notices who out of everyone has a problem and decides to then force the boy to sit in the corner until his father comes by. I can imagine how it felt for the kid when being told by security to go over here and wait. Like the kid and father, I know I would never shop there again.

  39. I built two of the Star Wars Microfighters - the Star Destroyer and TIE Interceptor. I've got a whole set of them, and I'm planning on taking those, a few of the planets from the Planets series, and maybe 8099 ISD and hanging them from my 3 year old's ceiling to compliment his Star Wars bedroom. I'll take some photos when I'm done.

  42. Anyone know how much the US differs from UK market? Is there a big demand in UK compared with US? Can still pick these up pretty easy over here. I'm hanging out until May and using the 10% discount along with points I've accumulated at Lego shop.

  44. I sold off my TIE Fighters, X-wings, and Battle of Hoth since the prices were so high already. I have a few Y-wings, SFC Interceptor, Gungan Subs, and Falcons that I am debating selling soon. Just about everything else will be held longer. I sold the UCS Slave 1 minifigures for $90. I am keeping the Slave 1 for myself and this was a way to get it much cheaper since I will display it without the figures and I can always put a much cheaper Boba in the cockpit if I want.

  45. Since there's a new Sith Infiltrator coming out, I went ahead and sold my last 7961 for $75. I also quickly sold a 9515 - Malevolence for $175. Both sold within 12 hrs. of being listed.

  47. My first sale! Series 3 Gorilla Suit Guy $20 shipped. Found 16 Series 3 minifigures at my Target in Nov of last year for .06 each. Of those 16, two were this guy. Not a bad return in my opinion.
