  1. I had a great day and picked this set up along the way... Sweet!

  2. Unfortunately being vigilant is the only course of action, a dead give away would be the seals as there is a good chance they would have been cut, removed or taped over. It also helps to know the item weight and weigh immediately when you get home as this would be a lot easier to explain to the store opposed to waiting a week (or longer) and trying to return the item. I personally haven't come across these amongst my travels, but will be mindful now. On a side note, LEGO have picked up their game in regards to postage speed to us, I got notification that my Kwik-e-Mart has arrived in Oz within 3 days.

  3. Welcome BB. I'm new too, but just a couple weeks here reading advice like this ^^ has made me feel much more confident jumping into the investment game. Similarly trying to fund personal purchases for modding helms deep, and a modular street! Best of luck out there!

  5. Doing a big upgrade like this will have it's pluses and minuses. Just like anything else, with new technology, new features and apps will be able to be created. With that, there needs to be code and structure changes to make it work better for the future. This is happening right now with the latest forum upgrade. There were a few bugs during the upgrade process and a lot of changes. Everything is being looked into and a lot is being worked on. Index Recent Posts widget, Bottom Post Page Widget, Awards App and Mobile App are all in development right now. The first two in the list should be ready in the next few daysThere is no ETA on the mobile app, but I know it is something that is a priority since everyday more people are upgrading to this new version. I don't think it will be more than a few more weeks, if that. The developers need to update the app to work with this new version of the forum. The Trading feature will not return to the forums. There is no expected development or release of this product for the forum anytime soon. This will become a full feature on Brick Classifieds. Next week we will be releasing a bunch of updates and enhancements there. We overhauled the way we handle currency throughout the site and that was a big job. Once we release this update, vendors not located in the US will need to update their pricing on their products to make sure it is what you want them to be.Launching a new Want Ad feature to tell vendors know what you are looking for, willing to pay, etc. This should really open up some communication between buyer and sellerLaunching a Trade area where vendors will be able to list items from their inventory to trade with other vendorsManual Orders where based on your communication with members here or there, you will be able to build a manual order from your inventory with special pricing/discounts/shipping and send a Brick Classifieds member an invoice. If the member is happy with the invoice, they just need to click the link in the email and it will load those items in their cart and they can checkout, then later leave feedback. There is a lot going on, so just know that in case you are not seeing something right now, it doesn't mean it will be gone forever. Everything will all catch up and probably be even better. Thank you!

  6. I figured the largest and soon to be available by the summer (August) set of the new Elves theme deserved its own thread already especially now that we have an official image to go with the model on display at one of the last toy fair events. A large lovely abode home to the strong and wise gentle queen of the elves, Skyra, made from 808 pieces and shall retail for the royal price of ....huh, I couldn't find that because nobody focused on the dang price tag in any shot I looked through! I would guess either $80 or $90; probably the latter.

  7. When you've still got it on the shelf for $109.99, it's tough for it to move. Hmm...I got quite a few at Walmart for $30. I wonder if it's still worth it to part out.

  8. Ordered a T1 camper using $100 in airmiles cash vouchers. Also CineplexFeb code works for T1 which I wasn't expecting for a supposed exclusive!

  9. DS II was a bad seller to my knowledge when it was on sale. If LEGO releases a new one it will be closer to 10188 than 10143. Lots of minifigs, features etc. 10188 doesn't sell just because it is the Death Star. Its attractive point are also the inclusion of most iconic characters and famous scenes. DS II did not have any of that.

  10. Hmm. To be honest I think it's random. Also, I don't think there is warehouses in Canada. The availability for Canada and US is always the same. My shipments come from US via Fedex.. Louisiana, Illinois, Ohio or something I forget.

  14. Mentioned in other threads, but finally a proud owner of a Pet Shop I found on shelf in a toy shop in Barcelona. After having two orders on SaH cancelled, I felt happy about it. Paid 10 Euro over RRP, but I think VAT was included in the price, so it works about the same as buying it in Canada with $25 tax. Stoked none the less!

  16. Hi everyone, Back from Florida and just wanted to share what we saw at Legoland Florida. Series 2 Mixels were everywhere and were buy 2 get one free. They had giant bins full of all Series 2, with brown being the most plentiful. Simpsons minifigs were also included in the buy 2 get 1 free sale. No Pet Shops anywhere (including Downtown Disney Lego Store) but Legoland did have a few Palace Cinemas and Parisian Restaurants. Lots of Slave 1s and Tumblers but can't recall seeing any Red 5s. They still had tons of PEE and Valentine's Day Dinners. Nothing else that sticks out in my mind. We had fun and there were no waits on any rides while we were there on Sunday.

  24. Minicoopers11, just to be clear I was willing to drive the distance because I was happy to visit the area. The only thing that would have changed was when I would go (visiting the beach on the other coast of Florida). Thanks to the kind responses here, I will not miss any toes-in-the-sand time when I go. :)

  30. After seeing the previous picture mine doesn't sound so awesome . . . I found this in the clearance aisle at Walmart with the UPC cut out. Asked a manager how much it was, and she came back and told me she could sell it to me for $5. Not the most sought after set, but anything for that price will make my day, and I'll just add to the collection.

  38. It was a fully operational weapon. Wasn't that the whole point of Palpatine's trap ? Plus the explosion was visible from the moon in broad daylight, meaning they were close enough for at least the shockwave to cause some damage. After all, the DS was about the same size as the moon ETA: I am going to stop making this thread off topic by trying to insert logic to SW movie. It is what it is This movie was created by the same person who believed you could survive nuclear explosion by hiding inside a refrigerator

  39. I want a Boba Fett movie directed by Quentin Tarantino, 16+ rating. Will never happen though. Regarding the Death Star, a mix of old and new is quite feasible. After all, no matter where we are in the timeline, there is always a Vader and Palpatine on the space station. And if I were LEGO, I would pull a stunt by making some of the rooms swappable and releasing scenes as vignettes that are viable sets on their own too. After all, the current DS is nothing more than a large series of vignettes.

  44. I found the easiest way to start was to sell small items, like video game cartridges or Lego polybags that could be easily shipped in small padded envelopes. And don't be afraid to lose money on some of your first transactions. You're essentially buying feedback. Honestly when I first started I only got feedback on 1 in 5 sales. So it may take some time. I found that a very polite message to the buyer after the tracking showed that the package had been delivered, requesting they leave feedback if they were pleased got me a handful of responses. I wouldn't suggest requesting they leave GOOD feedback, just that they leave it if they were pleased with the transaction. Edit: Also, feedback as a buyer counts toward your overall feedback and most buyers don't dig deeply into your history to find out if you were the buyer or the seller. Starting as a buyer is a legitimate way to build good feedback. Cheers!
