Started a day earlier than planned, just needed a break from work. First 3 pics are bag 1. Bags 2 and 3 are the exact same thing and are the sides the wings will attach to. Bag 4 is some roof trim on the cockpit. The round roof piece is a pre printed piece. So far 6 stickers (looks like 8 more and the UCS stand sticker). Bag 5 is just some more cockpit trim then the rest are the wings and stands. 1 hour and 20 minutes so far. Looking like it will be around what the X Wing was time wise. The manual is similar to architecture and has a lot of facts and information in the pages leading up to the build. Box is the 23" x 18.5" x 3.5" style box. It is 12 bags total. So far it is 12" wide so guess the wings will be the big part. According to the box it will spin 360 degrees on the stand from what it looks like.

I'd get a partial refund from the seller and buy the box on BrickLink. The box is only $1.40 at Sir Timothy's, plus probably $6 shipping or so. Up to you if you want some other compensation from the seller for the hassle. I'm sure the seller would be happy to get a buyer who actually communicates with the seller before escalating the situation.

eBay works like this: Private seller- don't really care it's just extra pocket money, whatever. Big business seller- don't really care I do large volume too justify any return blah blah blah Small business seller- I cannot afford any more silly eBay defects, try's hard, provides excellent service and will always accommodate. Outlet- Easy money why not. If you want the best service from an eBay seller who actually cares about customer support, use an eBay seller who seems to specialise entirely in Lego, has around 99%+ feedback and isn't selling 1000's of different items. Otherwise avoid like the plague.

He's stating it more like fact rather than opinion, and not nicely either. I don't care if people want to post what they think, but when they are rude about it and act like a little kid trying to get their point across its annoying and a waste of time reading the post......especially with " I am right.thanks". It's not wrong as in most of them will not care why you ask. It might be wrong in that 99% have no clue and might lead you to make bad decisions.

Found and bought two 10937 Arkham Asylum NISB today. They were just there in a little toyshop for 160 euro each. I haggled and got them for 150 euro each.

I no longer give partial refunds, too many people blackmailing your feedback for a few bucks. I have them send it back for refund. I also had this happen to me on a purchase, boxes got crunched, but don't care that much. The seller should of properly packaged it, especially if it was a business seller. It does sound like a private seller though so I would contact him using the 'other' option so he doesn't get a defect, we all hate defects. Then ask for either a partial refund say like $20.00 or you would like to return it. If he gives you the run around then you eBay screw him by opening up a case stating as item not as described ( I think you can include photos can't remember) then eBay will decide in your favour and give you a full refund when you return the item. Unsure on the American rules but the seller should pay for the return postage. You could also be nice and upload photo's, because he may pursue a claim through the courier he used to get some money back so everybody wins. If you feel like being nice of course....

Sounds like the seller made an $80 mistake. I'd call that SNAD & get my money back. Sorry for those that disapprove but everyone has to learn one day.

To complete my analysis of whether EU inventory data tracks Amazon sales, here's the last bits. I'll compare sales rate in the EU data to Amazon sales rank for the last 3 months. We only have good EU inventory data back to early February, but using the rate (units/week) should be ok Sales rates are remarkably similar each week throughout the EU data. I'll also note the number of restocks of each set. Here we go. First column is Amazon sales rank, second is EU sales rate in units/week. 3rd column is number of restocks. Sales rate is my eyeball of the data, good to +/- 10 units/week. DO 9, 500 units/week, 4 restocks PS 9, no data - 0 inventory throughout PC 11, 310 units/week, 3 restocks Tumbler 14, 300 units/week, 0 restocks PR 32, 250 units/week, 2 restocks Simpson

It looks like many sets got restocked today in the EU according to the inventory tracker provided by Brickset (Red Five, Sea Cow, EV, SOH, TB, ToO). Some of them seem to have had huge restocks.

Just a piece of constructive criticism that may help others as well. You do take returns.if a buyer wants to return something they will, and it does not matter what your personal policy is. Ebay trumps that. A good anology would be how fed law trumps state law. You are selling yourself short on any type of discount by not offering at minimum a 14 day return policy.

If you're keeping the set, you're not entitled to a full refund - the seller might be scared into one to try to avoid a negative, but it's not something eBay or PayPal will back you on in a case. This is a time for neutral or negative feedback, not trying to get money back. Presumably the Easter gift has been opened and used, so the box condition isn't really an issue. The seller's bad packaging and ridiculous shipping time is the issue.

Yeah we have similar things over here, and yes I never offer a partial refund I always ask them to open a case for a return. Granted it's only happened like 4 times in 3 years but only 2 ever actually did open a case and it was legitimately damaged in transit.

Just remember: what goes around comes around. If you are quick to give negatives without talking to the seller first, it will happen to you when you sell something. Do what you would want to be done for you - if the roles were reversed.

So I ordered spongebob 3818 off ebay on a listing that said it was new, and showed a picture of the box in what looked like perfect condition for $80 shipped. The seller had wrapped the lego box in some bubble wrap and PAPER! Needless to say, the box is pretty destroyed including a large tear/hole. My question is, would you pursue getting some sort of refund or just give poor feedback and be done with it? My thoughts on why I should just give negative feedback: This is a gift for my daughter, so we will be building it and will probably want to keep it until she's older, maybe beyond. It wasn't meant to be an investment piece. The other side of me says that we keep our lego boxes in great shape, so if I ever sold it used I would get more with a good looking box. What would you do? I can upload pics if necessary but just imagine the box squished with holes and the corners dented and you'll get the idea. Thanks!

Yes, PR is just a superior set all around. Honestly I thought the Euro data was showing SH was a weaker seller than what you're saying. If I knew the data sets were that close I probably wouldn't have said anything so I'm glad you pointed out the similarity. You've been drawing some great analysis from the euro data sales and I look forward to reading more in the future.

You can read the relatively weak sales and unpopularity of Simpson's House in 2 ways. On the supply side, they haven't had a lot of sales. This is actually pretty good news for investors, you'll have less competition compared to hugely popular lines like the modulars. On the other hand, it also indicates suppressed demand, at least at this stage while selling to the Lego masses. A key question then becomes, what will demand do in the long term, after EOL? That's a judgement call. My opinion, nothing more, is that this set may gain in popularity after retirement, especially with KM and possibly additional sets in the theme. Also, this is an AFOL set, and many AFOL don't know they want Lego yet; we get a steady stream of new adults (often new parents buying for kids) that "find" Lego each year, then proceed to build collections for themselves. A Simpsons theme is well-aligned with AFOL collectors (as previously mentioned in this thread). This gives retired sets new life, and explains why the collectable themes raise the value of early entries (Modulars, Star Wars UCS sets, etc.) Now here's the trick: how do you combine these bits of data to find the relative desirability for investment? Stated differently, how do you find sets where the demand/supply ratio may move upwards after EOL? Low initial supply as evidenced by weak sales + delayed demand (speculating here) is a pretty good flag. Given that, I actually think SH is a decent investment, even though sales have been lackluster.

You cannot compare Spongebob with the Simpsons I think. Spongebob is for kids. And isn't there a new spongebob movie coming? Simpsons is a bit more for adults. For AFOLs like us. That is why the Simpsons sets are more detailed. Spongebob sets are more playsets. If the Simpsons House is to retire soon it may turn out to be a good investment in a couple of years. Even in Europe. But it will take time. In that way you can compare it to Spongebob. It needs time to ripe as an investment.

Yes, I've built 2 of them for my city. My wife and I changed the colors and design of the second one to differ from the first. I'm not sure if this will be too much of a plus on post EOL. I don't see people buying multiples once the price starts going up after retirement.

The movement on the couple AT-STs was a bit stiff and some of the laser fire was slow but still quite enjoyable.

Often the best holiday flips are hot/new products, so alot of them havnt' even been released yet. If I had to pick one theme though it would be Lego Minecraft, they seem to always be hits at xmas.

I know we can say this is to be expected. But today is January 2nd. Really? Barge Loads of it available (I agree). It is everywhere. I can put 99 of it in my cart at Target. Lego made it so scarce in early December that everyone profited off of the mass shortage of Minecraft in December and of the Tumbler as well (more Minecraft for me). Then all of the sudden I can pick up skid loads of Minecraft by the $100k everywhere and order infinite amounts of the Tumbler and it is ready. I do not believe production just ramped up and magically hit stores on January 1st. It had to be a timed thing and prepping to roll out everywhere. But in the interim they could not have taken a percentage of this and diverted it to the online stores to fulfill orders? I am glad from my perspective but I think this could have more to do with hype and intentionally limiting supply to make it popular for Christmas just like the BatBot. If you cannot have it you want it. If you can have it you do not want it so much. It is a theory. To say production perfectly hit on January 1st in stores in mass waves unlike anything they could possibly have produced in November and December I do not buy. If the intention was to hype it up increase demand have everyone trying to get it for Christmas and then flooding the market shortly after they succeeded.
