  2. Congrats Inversion on becoming a Moderator and best of luck. I wanted to again thank Ed and Jeff and all the Mods with all their hard work and I had fun in the position. Time on the computer is something I don't have a lot of and wasn't able to devote the kind of time to the site that it required and didn't want to half ass anything. I will definitely still be around talking Lego with everybody.

  3. The careful filing of topics into a relatively few number of threads is actually an enormous positive on this site. You don't have to wade through pages of different threads to find relevant topics on the set of interest, you just go to one place. Also, the length of this thread and the age is actually another huge clue if you care to think about it. And if you're observant, there's even more to be learned from that "old and irrelevant" info that you think no longer applies. Quite the contrary, that's some golden info that will tell you quite a bit about the future of not just 10188, but a number of other sets as well. If this was easy and obvious, many more folks would do it. It takes time and patience to learn the basics on both ends: the best way to acquire sets (and which ones), as well as the best way to sell sets (and when). We were all novices once, and we're all still learning. The suggestions you make are counterproductive and would harm the way many of us use this site. I appreciate your suggestions, nothing wrong with those. Understand that the reason things are done such as grouping comments into single threads by set is the result of many expert investors input, some serious wisdom on this site, and the result of many mistakes made by others before you. You're benefitting from all that. You'll come to see why things are done the way they are here, and hopefully recognize the value they'll ultimately represent to your investments.

  4. if we did this, it would make it easier for investors to get into the market. many of us spend hours reading topics that are years old to see how the speculation pans out. this is great information. so read on, and maybe in a few weeks you can grasp which sets you should buy. have a good one!

  5. He's stating it more like fact rather than opinion, and not nicely either. I don't care if people want to post what they think, but when they are rude about it and act like a little kid trying to get their point across its annoying and a waste of time reading the post......especially with " I am right.thanks". Great, he may be right, but coming off like a pompous jerk isn't going to make others here like you or respect your input. Rant over, moving on.......

  11. Nope no code and no inside knowledge. I remember I think Dave is the person who spoke with a mid level manager and was told PC is going this summer. It is really strange in how it has acted. I think he may be right guessing 40% chance. It is by Astrid and all her sets get retired early it seems It is my favorite modular. I think PS soon fills US back orders and is done Guesses I am probably wrong

  16. Hi all, Thought I'd stop by an introduce myself as a sumbled across your site when trying to find out more about lego, as over the past few weeks it appears I have become a wife to a secret lego wanting husband and mother to two lego wanting young girls! So far the girls are happy to just play with whatever I can get cheap! and we did pick them up some lego movie stuff on a recent trip so I think this has got them onto the ideas of sets being available and I'm already seeing first drafts of birthday lists with Elsa, cinderella et al. set's on so I guess we're into disney princess teritory. As for my hubby he's decided now is a god time to get back to his lego childhood memories and is talking about an upcoming purchase of a death star! and a VW camper (although I have to admit from what I've seen so far I'm strangely tempted to also push him towards the modulars as I think they look cool). So as I'm the one tasked with buying etc. I have the feeling that you may find I have some silly questions in the near future.

  19. If you don't ming me asking, did you get any type of discount or did you buy them at regular price? I want to get more of these as well. I have about three and don't want to regret not buying more like I regret not buying more Delorean's. Those were half the price of the Ecto-1's and I should have bought more but I just didn't. I wanted to diversify and get some different sets. These Ecto sets are awesome looking and have great minifigs. I don't see how you can go wrong.

  22. Problem is that a select few never buys thousands and if they do, they are not using the affiliate links. At least not what we see. I think you overestimate what people really buy and stockpile. As I have stated many times, the NON-LEGO discussions would enter areas of discussion that did not have a place on a site designed around LEGO bricks. Really, use the INVESTorSELL.com site. It's what you are looking for.

  24. The contract was made with LucasFilm and Disney had literally no way to dissolve the agreement without seriously burning itself. However I see a couple of LEGO SW movies/series down the road just not made by Warner. They will be done most likely in conjunction with a Disney subsidiary. Disney channel is already featuring Droid Tales. LEGO animations became a brand on its own by now which Disney has no way to compete with in that segment. But this game is purely a competition and a pretty close substitute. Most households won't finance multiple collectible toy games.

  36. Was bored over lunch (I hate doing estimates) so I tried out my 41999 with both the regular controller and train controller. The steering servo is absolutely proportional to the input. Conclusions: 1) The 41999 controller is not proportional - only ON MAX and OFF. 2) The train controller has 7 "speeds"...(8 if you include off). - Level 1 for both steering and speed were wholly inadequate though steering did respond, speed did not (maybe with fresh batteries). - Level 2-7 were kind of nice for steering, but the way the controller works as you turn the dial, it was just too slow to respond. I I think this may be an RF delay because the motor itself certainly responds fast when you use the supplied controller. - The speed control was also nice as the vehicle doesn't "jerk" to begin. - The emergency stop button both stopped the vehicle OR returned the servo to the center position which was a surprise. Conclusion? Neither controller is perfect but given the choice of the two, the included one is the right choice. The train one just responds too slowly.

  37. After looking closer at the extended trailer, there are a few things to point out: 1. At 4:17. They took time to point out the Batmobile was customizable (as it should be for a brickbuild model). I am actually excited to see how much modification can be reflected in game (ie. here are 3 custom builds that can be shown immediately in game vs build whatever you want and it will be shown in game as is ) 2. At 4:04. At least the accessories are not kragled to the minifig 3. At 4:52. I am sold on the brick built Balrog !!!!! That thing is better be one of the fun packs ETA: The RIDDLER is riding the Balrog !! 4. At 4:45. Cast of the Wizard of Oz 5. At 4:50. Pretty sure the vehicle behind Marty is a customized Delorean (a speculation to supporrt my point #1) 6. 4:53. Barad-dur + Eye of Sauron. Per 4:56, It is pretty safe to assume it is one of the levels 7. At 4:42 & 4:56 & 5:01, it seems they use portals a la Sliders (the TV series) or as in O in "Dimensions" logo to hop from one dimension to the next 8. What is that monster shot by Batwing at 4:59 ? On other thought, I wished LEGO still had TMNT license, those would have been sweet addition to this game ETA: Someone else's analysis:

  42. Star Wars won't be included. My own speculation but as someone else said, Star Wars is owned by Disney. They already plan to add those characters to their own Infinity game. They won't erode their own product for a smaller margin here. We won't get Marvel character in this either.

  45. I'd rather collect minifigures than Skylanders. Anyone want to buy my son's Skylander collection?
    1 point
  46. Probably just a video game like disney infinity, but you have to collect a minifigure for 30.00 to play the character in the world. That's my bet.

  47. Yeah, I want one, just wish it contained a diff minifigure. Heck, even Aunt Beru would have been better than another 3PO
