Jar Jar having a bad year NOTE: At the time of this posting date, it was on Day 99 so be sure to check back every other day at least once to see the new death of Jar Jar.8 points

I sold my last Falcon 7965 for $249 shipped. It wasn't the lowest price on eBay and the box had some damage, so who knows why it went within six hours of being listed. I was tempted to keep it, but just around $100 buy in said, "No, the next one coming will be more awesome."3 points

One could make a case for a pay BrickPicker site. Then again, one could think of many negatives to it as well. The idea of a premium pay portion of the site comes up in conversation constantly, but we don't want to hurt the basic dynamics of the site. As was the case with the NON-LEGO discussions, there comes a point where it can hurt the core user of the site. Many BrickPicker members are not vocal or big time resellers, so why cater to the vocal minority? There is no perfect solution. If you charge people, you might lose some important information from some members who use the site on a limited basis. If you charge, then people will expect more and complain more. That was the idea of the INVESTorSELL.com site. We saw there was an interest in the NON-LEGO products, but it was dominating the discussion board at times and was filled with adult oriented topics. The solution was to create another, less regulated site in which people could divert some of their discussions. Have you joined and contributed? I mean, afterall, we designed it for YOU! LOL2 points

Successful businesses don't make decisions based on making profit on every single decision they do - they base decisions on maximizing total profit. Cutting losses over sunk costs on a bad-selling set to make way for a better selling set is a strong business decision.2 points

I'm supposed to believe that Lego is going to take a set in the last year of its life and repackage it, but leave the similar-sized and younger PC still in production in the big ol' box, because why exactly? This is more silliness. Toos status I trust as an indicator of retirement, whether in EU or stateside. But a sudden, inexplicable urge to repackage the PS? Give me a break.2 points

I think you can think of the 10188 like the UCS of Death Stars. I know it's not UCS. What I am saying is that the new 2016 Death Star will be a smaller more affordable one and sell like hot cakes. Like maybe a $150-200 Death Star. The old death star will increase in value and be the retired big daddy. That is my guess. That is why I am up to 8 and adding more as we speak. Though I am small time and no Emazers!1 point

What if LEGO is just messing with the resellers and they have these in warehouses, yet choose to hold onto them? A little delayed retirement here, a little delay there. Flippers will flip their lids.1 point

Here is an amusement park MOC completely built out of LEGO with a Ferris wheel, bumper cars, jump & smile, pendulum, and some kind of swing ride all powered by motors. It also features an array of lights to brighten the lively scene during the night.1 point

I've been rebuilding a bunch of my girls' Lego friends that they demolished into the component bricks. Now that my oldest got the friends vet clinic for her birthday she sees the value in keeping the sets together to play with. I think it's pride of completing a build (mostly) by herself as well. She doesn't want it taken apart yet. My eyes are burning from the fluorescent greens, pinks and blues but they seem to love it. I'm still amazed at how my girls respond to these sets versus other "boys" sets. I think whenever this line goes EOL most of these sets will be gold. So I've rebuilt: Vet clinic Emma's horse trailer Puppy's playhouse Orangutan's (Moneky's) banana tree Still have Macaw's fountain and brown bear's cave to go and a few other miscellaneous sets to go. Pray that my retinas hold out. :D1 point

My only problem is I live too far from the border to drive. I might fly down every once in awhile but then I have to worry about paying extra baggage fees for carry ons for big sets. I'll be in Vegas in late June and plan to visit the new store they got there.1 point

If they pay through PayPal and you print the label through PayPal you don't do anything but fill in the extra customs form right in PayPal. From Can to US you just have to declare value, describe, and give the weight of each item in the parcel.1 point

Boxing up takes up space. Dust or dings do not concern me and shouldn't for you either. Makes no difference on resell value. I often sell items in pairs, especially friends and city sets. Impossible to box up beforehand. What if a customer buys more then one item. All depends on your business model and how you do things.1 point
