  4. Basic human psychology dictates that someone who has multiples of any one set will think it's a winner and try to convince everyone it is. Anyone who has 0 of a set will call it a loser and try to convince everyone it's a turkey in an attempt to make themselves feel better about not having any. It's hard to get an unbiased opinion around here. It is what it is.

  7. Found a lonely Valentines Dinner at Ross for $7.99, felt it best to bring it home and place it on eBay. I think that may be the first item I've ever purchased at Ross, the retail employee in me was screaming in agony at how disorganized that store was.

  10. SMH. This set lowest resale was 50% markup; it's now nearly x2 MSRP and continues to rise as smaller seller stock is running out. SR is stable and doing well. Most one off minifigures do well -- reference CMFs. Specifically, Series 1 : nurse. Specialized area with single unit will command a premium. By saying 60 eur = x3 MSRP is not 'a lot', That's hard to figure. None minecraft at 35$ is selling at 105$. Modulars hitting x3 MSRP takes quite a long time too. Fire Brigade still isn't there. Space Shuttle is just getting there after 3 years.

  11. Hello everyone! Here is another project that I just submitted on LEGO IDEAS, also based on the movie Captain America: The First Avenger. Several months ago, I just posted the project Red Skull's Flying-Wing Chase on the forum. Chech this link: http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/12477-red-skulls-flying-wing-chase-my-lego-ideas-project/ For more details, please check the link below. If you like the model, please give your support. Thanks a lot! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/98141 THE STORY This project (392 pieces) features the scene from the movie Captain America: The First Avenger. After a gun fight with Captain America and Bucky in a Hydra base, Johann Schmidt turns into the Red Skull by tearing his face apart, showing the audience his new, horrible, red face. He is going to escape with the cosmic cube in his jet. Unfortunately, Captain America and Bucky fail to stop this bad guy because of the big explosion in the Hydra base. THE HYDRA JET The jet (173 pieces) is built mainly with dark grey, light grey, black and some dark red bricks. The front cockpit can open and fit one minifig, probably Red Skull himself. It has two flick missles on both sides. The three big propellers on the back of the jet can rotate freely in 360

  14. It's just meant to gauge what sets are selling for in the current market. Has nothing to do with financials. Just gives a guide for others to see what things are going for.

  15. It is the "What LEGO set did you sell today and for how much?" thread not the "what was your exact P&L analysis of such said sale" thread

  22. I'd love to see the Dolphin Cruiser retire. It's been out for awhile now, so it should be coming close to retiring. I think this set will surprise a lot of people once retired. Many of us were disappointed when it didn't perform as well this past Christmas like it did in 2013, which probably turned some people away from it's long term potential. Once it's gone, I think $150 is very attainable, if not a little more. That should bode well for those who got in around $50 or less. I've got a fleet of 24, and I'm kind of glad they didn't get flipped this past Christmas.

  24. Welcome. The best advice I can offer is to read, then read, and when you finish read some more. Also before you go on a buying binge sell a few items just to get a feel for the process. Buying is easy, selling isn't.

  29. My purchase price was $85+$39+$21+4x$10.50 = $187. At my sale price of $320, after fees, I clear a bit above $85 on each sale. FYI, purchase has been at TRU with 10% off Thursday + $5 off $25 prior to the TRU price increase. I have 3 more complete sets available to sell.

  30. I think you are right to overthink and analyse. My analysis tells me that the first 2012 wave of super heroes sets had some winners. The next waves will not be as good as the first wave investment wise. The magic is over.

  31. A year from now when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is released (3/25/2016), this set will be kicking serious A$$. 6862 has 3 of the man protagonists of the film (Superman, Wonderwoman, Lex Luthor) Combine this with Arctic Batman set, you have all the main characters in B v S (though Aquaman will look different for sure) . I have equal numbers of both sets for bundling and have hopes that each will make it to $50 by then for an easy benjamin.

  32. Goblin King Battle...one more set in inventory left to clear. $159 CAN, after fees and shipping still a tidy profit from approx 40% discounted purchase price. Profits easily covers the Riddler Chase set for my son...he'll be a happy builder this weekend The Flash and batmobile looks really cool in the set.

  38. I think Benny is just about done. And it makes me sad, because I don't have any. Very cool looking retro spaceship though. Take away the goofy minifigs and you have a fun collectible for adults. Put them back and kids can go to town. It's a win-win, or would be if my Walmart had them for less than $99.99. I'm lucky if they don't mark Lego up.

  40. Very perceptive Obi Wan! I was the best match. Had 1 left moved it to $99.95 from about $65 or somewhere in that area. It maintained best match and I thought it would sit there a while and someone bought it. But then they asked that I reverse it as they paid incorrectly, relist it and then he bought it from me again. First class buyer.

  45. I paid 199.99 plus tax for my two ToO on LS@****. Was there a better way to do it? Exclusives aren't my forte yet. I've started off doing a lot of Walmart flips. I am starting to get my brain wrapped around that business model. Have yet to successfully sell a retired exclusive of course as I just started all this in December. Thanks for your feedback. This community is so helpful. It's surprising really as we are all technically each other's competitors.

  46. The Sydney Opera House IS a massive set once it is built, the biggest issue is where to put it once it complete. My build is sitting on my Lego desk in the garage until I work out exactly what I am going to do with it. I am thinking about putting lights on the set, not sure how and am looking to do it on a "no drill" basis. I did the following for New Year's Day, bit of a quick project at the time... <iframe class="vine-embed" src="
