  1. Dave is taking a little vacation right now, so you won't be getting a response. Let's not start any fervor again today, it's done.

  2. I'm very excited! I know many have surpassed this but It is a big day for me. It has taken a lot of time and work to get there but this morning I received my 1,000th feedback on eBay and I met my goal to have it be 1,000 positive feedbacks with no neutral or negatives! Fun that it came with a glowing Mixels feedback. I am sure I will not stay 100% forever but it was a goal I have been working on for a couple of years and it came true. Have a good day!

  4. The beast is done. Had to extend the home photo station for this thing. Lightings a little off in places for that reason. Not really enough room but I got some decent photos with some angles and stuff. Think the time was roughly 9 hours (3 the first night, and 2 per the next 3 nights). Hooked up the power functions but didn't have the right size battery here to close it up. It does work perfect though, all 4 rotors spin and the lights light up the front glass below. You can see the propeller spinning in a blur in the last photo. Have Iron Man micro fig flying high over the carrier. Looks great now I just need to figure out where to display it. Fun build overall and it is very sturdy for such a large ship. Pretty pleased with that. Some builds just seem to fragile. Pics will be in 2 posts.

  5. Or, you know, maybe an insane idea, stop worrying about retirement dates, develop a plan and hit your goals early. That way, you really don't care when something retires. I know...crazy talk around these parts. Lol

  6. Hey everyone, I posted a version of my Unimog recently.. here are more pictures and another video. For full details of this project check out my mocpages http://mocpages.com/moc.php/407959 I am too lazy to put it all here I had lots of fun with this project, and I think it raises some "firsts" or at least breaks some ground in Technic building in new areas. First, I have no idea for certain, and will probably be proved wrong (which is fine by me) but this model may have the largest third party tires used for Technic models. They are nearly 6 inches tall! I have not seen any taller. Second, I haven't really seen any models being used for muddin'. We have truck trials and climbing competitions, but I have never really seen muddin competitions. This really is not possible with electrically powered models (b/c of the water), and that is why pneumatically powered models are so cool. They can open new doors to our hobby. I haven't seen a model go through more mud or water than this model (maybe I should post this to the records post ). The tires are nearly six inches tall, and with the water well surpassing the wheel wells in the video, this things can easily traverse through seven inches of water. Last.... which goes with the second... but I haven't really seen a lot of pneumatically powered MOCs used for trucks... period. Or climbers, etc. I have seen them used for cars, large cars, but not trucks. ALthough large LPE are not nearly as compact as motors, I think they open new doors as already discussed. Enjoy the pics and video... and remember to look at my page for further details. That is a 8110 Unimog tire up there against NYM's Unimog tire!

  13. Exclusive omissions from the USA spring 2015 catalog include Red5, Ewok Village, Tower of Orthanc, Sea Cow, and EEE. PS and PC are both in it. It is a lot better reading than the last few pages of this thread. If you don't have it yet, you should sit by your mailbox at wait for it.

  14. Woa, what's with the vibe? We're missing the far important questions here. Let me get your help. What color is my PC box? Black and Gold, or Blue and White? Also, how *do* they fit all the pieces for that limo in the box. I'm not sure the limo is built to minifig scale...

  19. I'm going to disagree. If you are trying to QFLL, then yes, you are correct. You shouldn't be looking at items like exclusives as something to maximize your funds and your space. But, if you are investing, then it is efficient. Here's why: Just this week, I sold two sets that were some of the first investments I made. I made 2-2.5x my buy in on them. They were not smart investments. I bought them before I even knew there was a forum here. (I wouldn't find the forum for almost another year). Now, imagine that you've been slowly buying over the last two years. If you're smart about what you buy, you can start selling off for 2-3x your buy in. You're making nice profit. And you just keep rolling. It takes time and commitment. But, if you start and plan ahead, then you're on this rolling cycle. That's certainly been a strategy I've tried to employ - buy and hold for at least two years. Sure, I get involved in the QFLL stuff all the time. But for my investment purposes, it's buy and hold, and hold and hold and hold. I'm not worried about PS retiring, because I've already hit my (small time) quota on it. When I'm talking investments, I'm going to buy stuff that I will hold onto for awhile. And I've got to manage it smartly - I only have half of a garage to operate in. And trust me, I have to get creative, and every couple of weeks I exclaim, "I won't buy any more Lego - I'm out of space!" and yet, I still manage to find space for things that I know will be sitting here for a couple of years.

  31. There was arguably an error with the manual. The binding would let loose the pages at random and with very little force. I personally experienced this on two sets. There's discussion about this on Brickset. I've had the manuals replaced with a call to CS at Lego. Maybe they traced the problem down to a particular batch and have replaced the culprits.

  35. There email address, is given to you in the order details, its there, just look hard enough. Simply send them a PayPal request for the agreed amount , and reference the sale with that payment. This way it is all documented if anything arises in the future. This is with-in ebay/pp policy.
