  1. Another little thing to always check when you get a negative before leaving your response or calling ebay is the "feedback left for others" tab of the buyer. You would be surprised how many of these people have done this repeatedly. You will have a little more ammo in your call if the buyer has done it multiple times. I had one guy who had left 8 negatives out of his last 10 transactions. There was a trend and it helped the situation. You are allowed to leave that in the response as well if it happened. You can't leave it as there main feedback but as a response to yours is fine. If it was just a first time he did this a good response is below that fits in the allotted amount of characters. It shows how much you did for the buyer while showing you've never had issues with the product and they were still not happy which others will see as the person just being an a$$. Most of your buyers will actually leave overly positive comments when they see what someone did to you and reading a response like that. Sold over 50 w/o issue, sent 2 extras at no charge & $10 refund, still left neg.

  2. Gavin's father reached out to me today. They are organizing a fund raiser to help pediatric patients at the local hospital. It will involve a LEGO build event with all sorts of activities for children and families, including Star Wars and Disney characters. Their foundation is called Gavin's Warriors and I am honored to be asked to volunteer. He also shared this picture of Gavin with his minifigure shelf. Helping Gavin was one of the highlights of the year for me in 2014. Thanks again to all my fellow Brickpickers who helped make it happen.

  4. Seems a newish trend on ebay that the final agreed upon price is not actually the real final price for both auctions & fixed price listings... usually with a single email back to the seller you're gonna get at least a %20 partial refund almost automatically just to have you not post feedback (whether it's mentioned or not) it's the wild west there now so you just have to be prepared to deal with this as a seller - some low FB sellers or sellers with 100% +ve or TRS status will go so far as to give you a full refund & let you keep the item - so much FREE stuff on there available to anyone for the cost of a simple little non-threatening email... now it's actually to your advantage to have a few negatives (with professionally worded & passive rebuttals) as a seller so that the pilferers will know that you are not going to supply instant cashback or hushmoney at no risk/effort to them. just like "the club" from the 80's - it's no real security for your car but it's just enough to encourage the nasties to just try someone else.

  12. I'm with you. If any of you want to get out of your investment at the $20 buy-in, I'll help you unload them. I QFLL'd them for more than 3x RRP when they were TOOS. These will go for gold again. If you're impatient, then you are in the wrong game, because if you can't wait out a $20 set to double or triple it's value, there's no way you'll be patient enough for a Modular or SSD to double or triple it's value.

  15. I'm surprised to see disappointment from those that hoarded these. Anyone in Southern California that want's to shed these like a bad exo-suit, give me a buzz. This set is absolute solid gold in my eyes. In the US, just the empty box can be sold for $12 shipped. Solid. Gold.

  21. I am going to the Brickvention in Melbourne today, there are a small no. storeholders who are licenced lego dealers, they may have some information in who has what exclusive for 2015 as they may have enquired, I will keep everyone posted.

  22. I didn't have much luck with Lego last year. They managed to lose 5 Research Institutes, 1 Tumbler and a Maersk Triple E... Crazy. Hopefully a store gets the Tumbler and puts it back to the $280 price to start with. LEGO Shop at Home used to sell the RGS at $179 and then dropped the price to $159 when store were selling it at the same price.

  24. I couldn't disagree more. Saying item x sold for this around Christmas so it will do the same a year later is ridiculous. I've been selling for quite awhile and I cant think of one example Where this was true. That's the same as seeing others like mayest sell Dolphin cruiser for 100.00 two years ago and then loading up expecting to sell for the same the following year. Sw will be plenty avaliable around the holidays for msrp. Lego has the whole year to prepare. Unwise investors have the whole year to stockpile. Do much competition. That'd like me telling u set x will retire on this date and putting it on BP giving everyone a year them to stockpile. If you follow your logic I'd be happy to point you to where you can purchase as many bat bots and my size elsa was your heart desires. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Brickpicker mobile app

  25. Maybe I am trying to justify the stock I have hoarded concerning 10235...The best counter argument may be 10229. Similar piece count, I don't recall 10229 being loved either because of the 99.99 price point. 10229 certainly isn't as interesting (to me). However the 1st christmas after EOL (less than 10 months from vaporizing from all retailers) this set was fetching a near double on ebay (without consideration of fees and shipping). So 65-80% take home in less than a year. Yes it can be done better in other sets closer to retirement however this one (10235) is a no brainer to me. The mini carousel can be paired in other builds (carnival type) and this set has 9 figs. Decent selection of parts, some HTF or exclusive to this set. I don't understand the argument behind not liking it (for financial purposes only). Just say'******...felt like throwing in my 2 cents.

  27. That's a very true statement. Like yourself and the poster a page back said its not always best to give in. It just builds the problem overall. While you want to still hit your numbers I usually know within a few of how many low scores I can get per month. I choose my battles based on that and if I can afford the potential low score I will stand up more to that person. If its to close to call for that month I will give in more but I do try to get the bad buyers exposed as much as I can. Your customers that buy from you regularly also will respond in there feedbacks to these types of buyers that leave bad feedback as well with things like "greatest seller on the planet" or "been dealing with for years and always the best". Its funny that the your customers actually get pissed as much as you do when they see you got an undeserved negative. Its basically like your friends standing up for you lol. There are a decent amount of people that know the exact words to say to try to get the "hush money". The ones that usually say they got an item destroyed but they still want it are dead giveaways. Another good thing to do on the ones that request money and they will consider the issue closed is copy and paste the ebay rules on that right into the response. Its funny how quick there attitude changes. They usually go away without leaving any feedback at all.

  28. Money can be made flipping Santas right now. Others want to start stocking it for next Christmas or beyond. If it follows the pattern of other winter sets it will retire at the end of this year. If you want 10 at retirement it's easier to buy one a month than 10 in November.

  33. You're not allowed to leave a neg for a buyer. A pos, with a neg comment is removable, and could also hurt your account. You can try calling ebay (but it likely won't help), you can send a feedback revision request to the buyer, and you can leave a response to his feedback. Negatives will happen (nothing you can do to stop that), but your response will be seen by anyone who cares about the negative (so think carefully before you enter the response).

  46. We asked everyone to submit their final pledge by Sunday evening so all further donations can be directed to the family. Details on where to send those donations are above. Here is a quick update on the donations for the sets: We received $839.01 via Paypal after transaction fees. I am covering the transaction fees so adding that back ($25.99) plus my original pledge of $40, brings us to $905.00 (one $20 pledge is still outstanding). We purchased 4 sets that totaled $746.35. The remaining balance of $158.65 will go towards the minifigure shelf, or if that plan doesn't work out, another larger set.
