OMG. I went to youtube and thought I would inject some hilarity and put in "niko love" to try to find one of niko's awesome love songs to cheer you up. What I found is something that now cannot be unseen and I apologize in advance for the atrocity I am now unleashing on this thread: Anyway, an update on the Jenna Jiggler. Seller accepted a $10 partial refund for the 3 pairs of stained breasts. Probably involved watching the video above somehow. Even after refund and even after considering I sent him 2 extra ones I sold them for what I normally do. I usually charge $7.95 each. Mr breast stain paid $29.95. So after refund I'm still doing well. Bought a lot of them from Entertainment Earth's 2013 90% off clearance, believe I paid 50 cents each. That's only 25 cents per stained boob.

Sold a Lego 79003 Unexpected Gathering for $100. Wow perhaps I should raise my price.

Amazon UK sent me some inedible pancakes and a new Christmas tree today...despite my amazing decorating skills, apparently the wife is not really feeling the same Christmas spirit. Edit: whoa...somehow Toywhiz saw my post already and just sent me a rude email about my Cargomas Tree...crazy.

Baseplates are problematic to ship. Most sellers use a box, which is probably why the shipping quote was high. We ordered some giant padded envelopes specifically for shipping baseplates which drops the cost back to first class +/ $2. As for knowing the shipping, BL has been working on a real ecommerce system for about two years. They made a huge step forward yesterday by changing the font on a couple of pages. /s

With USPS slashing Priority Mail prices by 40% to zone 5 and with Fedex and UPS moving to DIM pricing for ALL shipments we will utilize USPS Priority Mail in most cases from now on. It is also a chore staying on top of Fedex billing as they have started to make alot of errors in our billing the last 2 months (charging for pickup when the items were dropped off etc). I think USPS is going to win ALOT of business. It may prompt UPS and Fedex to rethink their strategy. Looks like they are having a Netflix" moment.

I use all of the costumed figures as trick or treaters at the Haunted House in my Halloween display, so I make sure to get the new one each time.

LOL...There will probably be some typos like this. The guys who helped Jeff with the Classifieds are very smart, but are from India, so there might be a few small mistakes like this. I would post them here unless Jeff tells you different. This is like an ongoing log of issues that need to be addressed. That is what the BETA is about, making it better and correcting flaws.

I received in my 3 R2's from Toys R Us I ordered last week. They came in as 36R4. Stick a fork in it, take it to the bank and sell it like hot cakes in the Toys R Us parking lot.

It's one of those cases where I had zero expectations this guy would actually pull through, and he hasn't disappointed.

I'm not sure what concerns me most about this purchase. 1.) Why someone would buy that bobble head 2.) Why he was removing the bras 3.) Where the stain came from Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Brickpicker mobile app

1. Take apart 2. Wash & dry 3. Rebuild (bricklink any missing pieces) 4. Photograph 5. Disassemble and place in zip locks by floor (photograph in zip locks too so your buyer knows what to expect) 6. List on ebay for $1,000,000 (or going BIN) 7. Ship once it sells 8. Have a cold one 9. No one ever said this would be easy.

Agreed and I will add MF as well, the three OT SW sets that everyone hates on for some reason. The MF panic buying is hilarious. No one wanted it at $100 and it was destined to be a dud and now people are stepping on each other to get it for $140.

I think this X Wing and Red 5 will do fine.

One way to really irritate the heck out of me is to tell me to take a breath when I wasn't even excited. I spent 3 hours on the phone with paypal as well as going back and forth via email with them since 6 am this morning to try and figure out their issue. They are getting the information but they need to adjust something with their profiles on their end.

If only I lived in Italy. Then I could take a 4 hour lunch break and go buy legos.

I didn't invest in these sets much at all. I was very bearish on them despite the fact that I thought they looked cool, because I had a feeling it wasn't going to atch on with the youngsters. Fast forward a year and it never really did. I spent $70 each on two Constitution trains and at the time had wished I was able to get more at that price. I thought they would take off due to being a train and the fact they came with track was a plus. I guess I saw the train as the Black Pearl was to the POTC line.

Another strike against the huge sets - There is no longer any reasonable way to ship them.

A couple suggestions for the site which are both existing features on Ebay / Bricklink, Apologies if these have been mentioned earlier: - A way to filter to only see items that ship to your country. It's inconvenient you have to click into each listing one by one to see which ones ship to your country. - Postage price to be included in the search results, similar to how Ebay includes postage price in the search results. Again if searching for an item it would be good to differentiate local items (with cheap postage) vs international items (with expensive postage). Other than that everything looks really good, great work!

While it is true Aquaman is returning in a new more expensive set exactly the same as this one, we probably won't ever see Arctic Batman or Mr. Freeze with these details again. For starters, Batman from this point onwards of 2015 has a different styled cowl piece now with short 'ears' and no bottom section covering the jawline. Also LEGO is using an alternate fabric for the capes which is something else to consider perhaps. The increasing army of 'Batmen' is tiresome I'm sure but the cold cruel Mr. Freeze always will be one frosty badass who has seldom been incarnated as a minifigure at all aside this one and the previous from 2006. I can hardly wait to pair him with Captain Cold from this year's offerings!

I am a 43 year old nurse and Mom with a Lego loving son...the bug bit me too and we have built a lot of sets together over the years. I had never thought of investing until my son decided to sell his Hogwarts Castle set in November. He keeps his sets pristine, he had all of the minis, the box, the instructions. We put it up on Ebay and it sold for $300 in less than 30 minutes. I think that's when I decided to try quick flipping to finance my long term holds. I love the hunt, the research, the camaraderie on the boards. Looking forward to 2015!

Exactly what I was thinking. If we could choose by region that would be great. No sense in looking at listings that cannot be shipped to us from the start.

During a time when a lot of folks are able to get their hands on this set, the ebay sold listings have them around 40 USD. It seems S&**** is done making them, so as soon as stock dries up at various retailers both in Canada and (intermittently) the US, and a few months pass it is hard to fathom the set not going up in value.

We aren't sure if it's because you didn't want to blow your cover as a reseller or your crappy public servant job only pays you enough to only afford one but nevertheless your order has been cancelled. We only realized our mistake after there was a huge spike in orders yesterday, most orders involving huge amounts of the set. Please inform your reseller scum friends that maybe if they were a little less blatant we probably would have not been made aware of our pricing error. This is why you guys over there can't have nice things. We now have a list of all the reseller scum and will be banning them from further purchases. I picked this up last month for 140US and my fiancee and I built this over the weekend (alternating bags). It's nice and makes a solid display, but it isn't a noticeable improvement of the 7191 and I will take a pass on any for investment as there are better options out there. I came to post my bag by bag pictures and decided to skim through most of the thread and relive a lot of the arguments about value. It appears that new 7191s haven't suffered too much from the update but used ones (predictably) have. Have you built an SSD? It is an absolutely beautiful display piece and sits front and center in my home, at least until I acquire a UCS MF. Ewok village sits in my bedroom so that I may have nightmares. I like your perspective; it is very well composed. I'm still not buying 10240 for investment as I believe that there are safer, highly profitable sets to buy instead. Built two sets tonight: 75050 B-Wing 75003 A-Wing I'm just going to say it. Those two are my favorite fighter ships from the OT. I think it's from playing X-Wing for far too many hours in the 90s. But I love those ships.

I built the DDC because yesterday someone in the DD thread wanted to know if it floats. Well it does float but not upright like in the movie, see pics. Note: no Minifigs were hurt during this test. That being said deffinetly best build of 2015 so far. You get a lot for your money including the cop car which was a nice mini build, also not pictured is unikitty she was sold on eBay to cover the cost of the set. Now back to the Slave1

You will receive a 1099 if your sales exceeded $20,000 and 200 transactions. Take note of the "and" in that statement, because the follow up question is always "well what if I did more than 20k and less than 200 transactions(or vice versa)?". The answer is 20k+ & 200+ transactions. Although you are supposed to report whether or not you get a 1099, that's none of my business. You will file a Schedule C, refer to http://www.irs.gov/uac/Schedule-C-%28Form-1040%29,-Profit-or-Loss-From-Business for more details. COGS is one aspect, gross sales is another aspect, selling fees & shipping is another aspect. You also can deduct items such as office supplies, shipping boxes, tape, nearly anything that cost you money in the pursuit of profit. You also can deduct $0.56/mile driven for business. You need a log for that or at the very least, some type of evidence. There is many more things Records are extremely important. Salvage any receipts that you can. Pour through every transaction on your bank/cc statements. Figure out your expenses, because every little bit reduces your taxable profit. That is your #1 priority right now. Find every single transaction where you spent money on inventory or supplies. I was in your shoes last year on gross sales of 360K, completely and utterly daunted by tax time(although I actually saved all of my receipts for everything.) Ultimately, it turned out to be pretty damn easy with TurboTax(provided you have records of everything....seriously, get on that ASAP). Once you get all of your expenses straightened out, you'll be fine. yadda yadda yadda, not an accountant.

I'm not buying this one unless it's got a shield generator. I can't see spending UCS $$$ on a ship that blows up if you look at funny...

This law will take affect in 2011 and will be reported in 2012 for the 2011 tax year. You are excluded from having your info reported if: 1. If you receive less than $20,000 a year in payments; and 2. If you have less than 200 payments. You will have to make sure you keep good records. That being said, if you make money off of EBAY sales, by law, you need to claim it as income. But it gets very complicated. You have to take in consideration what you paid for the sets, any commissions paid, other costs of your business, depreciation, etc...It can get quite messy for a few LEGO sets. I get the feeling most EBAY sellers don't pay tax on their sales and while I'm not giving financial advice, from what I've read, the IRS is not looking to audit you over a few sales on EBAY. They have bigger fish to fry. Just my 2 cents...
